We stayed at this hotel for a 4 nights in April. The hotel is in an excellent location. The room was quite large and had excellent Wi-Fi and was very quiet. The breakfast was wonderful. The service was outstanding. An excellent value.

We had a wonderful stay in Berlin. This hotel exceeded all our expectations. The staff member that helped us I think his name was Tobias or Adran, was very friendly and professional and offered us lots of recommendations to resturants and sight seeing activities. Unfortunatly, we speak very little German so it was very comforting to us to be able...

John F is centrally located just across Friedrichswerder Church and very close to Unter den Linden. You can easily walk to Alexanderplatz, Brandenburger Tor and many other sights. The rooms are nice and clean (and very quiet - we didn't hear a sound), and the breakfast buffet was delicious with a huge selection to choose from. The staff is helpful...

We visited this hotel last year in early December, mainly to enjoy the Xmas markets. At the time we didnt realise they were across the road and there were another 3 within a 10 minute walking distance. We booked through rail bookers and the breakfasts were included, there was plenty to eat and we found the staff very pleasant. The...

The combination of design (cool, modern & luxurious), location (less than 5mins in each direction from Gendarmenmarkt & Museum Island, with several metro stops), and the price, make this hotel an excellent choice for a weekend in Berlin. All rooms are spacious with comfy beds, great showers, and feel very new/fresh, with the superior ones having gorgeous views of Schinkel's...

We stayed at this hotel as part of a 4 country tour and it was the start point. When you book a hotel online there is always that concern that it may not be what you hoped for even though you have done all the resaearch. fear not if this is going to be your choice. The hotel is outstanding....

My mum and I stayed at the hotel for a long weekend In early may. This was our first visit to Berlin and we both felt the hotel was very well located and provided everything your need for a lovely weekend break. The hotel staff were very helpful with tips on what to visit and assistance booking restaurants. The Breakfast...

I like Arcotel in Berlin. I stayed there for a couple of nights in early October, 2011. It`s one of the few hotels I stayed at in Germany that provided free internet in the lobby. Staff were helpful and prompt in responding to requests. The hotel is within walking distance to a lot of attractions, including the main museums, the...

The Arcotel John F was our home base for 3 nights in Berlin. I was very pleased & surprised by the standard room. It had 2 plush rocking chairs which made for an excellent spot to relax after a busy day sightseeing in Berlin. The matching bed was supremely comfortable as well. We had breakfast at the hotel, its traditional...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
