Many visitors appreciate the staff's attentive and friendly service, although there have been occasional mentions of unresponsiveness. The hotel is located in an excellent central location, a few minutes from Alexanderplatz, in a quiet street. Comfortable, without great luxuries, it offers standard-sized and bright rooms (we were on the sixth floor out of seven...); negative notes little space for linen and bathroom without window or ventilation. The cleanliness was particularly appreciated (when we entered the room it was pleasantly scented). The breakfast room is large, where you can enjoy an excellent breakfast, with a wide range of desserts too. Prices normal. Reception staff very courteous, efficient and helpful.

Great hotel, very comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff. Very close to Jannowitzbruke station and Nicholas square for dining on the river. I would recommend this hotel and definitely come back. Though initially I walked past it as there isn’t a sign out front or I didn’t see it. But it’s in a nice quiet area. Berlin is an Amazing place.

Hotel Holiday Inn is a good hotel.
Light, clean rooms with good beds, powerful shower and nice soft towels. It is also quiet in the room, you hardly hear any sounds from the surroundings.
The breakfast is good and extensive. Delicious fresh fruit is also available. Staff are friendly

Strategic location for visiting Berlin: in front of the hotel there is a stop on the U2 underground line, a 5-minute walk from a U8/S-Bahn stop and Alexander Platz is also within walking distance. The rooms are basic and clean, the breakfast very varied both sweet and savory. Less positive aspects: the room is cleaned every two days (it is cleaned daily only on request at reception) and the bathroom has neither window nor suction fan. It can be useful to know that: in the bathroom there are no courtesy products except for soap-shampoo-conditioner (any other products can be requested at reception) and the hair dryer provided has an autonomy of only a few minutes before overheating and going into block (for long stays it is advisable to bring one from home). Overall a great value for money!

The hotel is located in an excellent position for visiting Berlin both on foot and by public transport. The metro stop is in front and the airport train is just a few meters away. Very clean and equipped with everything you need except the hairdryer which comes off every 30 seconds, drying your hair was a challenge, otherwise nothing to say. Good breakfast even if richer in savory than sweet, some cake or tart would be nice It was appreciated by those like me who are used to making it sweet. There is no fridge and wardrobe, there is a tiny hanging space.

I got into the city by train in the mid-afternoon and took the U-Bahn to a station close to the hotel. A short walk later and I was at the hotel, which is located by the roadside, so it is hard to miss. I was efficiently checked in by Carina, and the process was over in 7 minutes or so.

The room I was assigned to was tastefully decorated and maintained well, and the standards of a Holiday Inn Express room were present. Most importantly, it was clean and hygienic. A quick glance at the information on the TV, and having read the in-room collaterals, I knew what to expect for the duration of my stay. My daily breakfast would also be taken care of as it is inclusive with the room rate, so I loaded myself up at breakfast time each day.

A feedback though…I had wanted to launder my clothes as it says on the TV that the service was available, but when I brought my clothes down to the reception counter, I was told it was not available anymore. Perhaps the information page on the TV needed to be updated. Towards the end of my stay, the restaurant also ceased to operate when a few nights before it did.

Nevertheless, to me, all these were minor and certainly did not mar my experience.

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of May 24.

Great hotel next to an underground station which you will really appreciate after walking all day. Also only 15min walk to alexanderplatz where the main train station is and shopping centre.

The staff were so friendly and helpful and food in the restaurant is delicious, limited menu but we found enough choice for us for a couple of days. We didn't get his name, but the gentleman managing the bar/restaurant was also really friendly and helpful.

The room was only small, we had a large king-size bed and the sofa bed pulled our for our daughter and there wasn't much room to walk around but it was ample for us as we were out most of the day.
There are large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and bodywash in the shower, dove when we were there. And a small hairdryer which wasn't great but did the job eventually. Room was cleaned each day. Breakfast was good, usually cold breakfast selection plus scrambled eggs and boiled eggs.

The little shop in the foyer selling drinks and snacks was great after a long day sightseeing. A bit expensive but there are no shops immediately nearby so we didn't mind paying rather than walk any further to find a shop.

Dear Escape, Your insightful review is greatly appreciated. We're delighted to learn that our location and friendly staff met your needs and expectations. It's especially heartwarming to hear that you enjoyed our restaurant's offerings and our convenient lobby shop. We strive to create a comfortable and satisfying experience for our guests, and it seems that we were successful in most areas during your stay. However, we've noted your comments about the room size and the hairdryer. We always strive to improve and provide a variety of amenities to suit all our guests' needs, like additional hairdryers available at the reception. It's worth noting that our breakfast buffet is designed to cater to all tastes and dietary requirements, with high-quality and varied products. We hope you found this satisfactory. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future at Holiday Inn Express Berlin Alexanderplatz. Best regards, Janina F. Rooms Operations Manager

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-September 2023. We chose this hotel due to price and location. It is close to metro stops and an easy to walk to many tourist attractions. We had a very warm welcome at check in. Room 525 is a small, basic room with 2 twin beds. Each bed offered a hard and a soft pillow to choose from. There are no drawers for clothes, but there are hanging bars. There are many electrical outlets including usb ports by each side of the bed. Towels were thin and even though we hung them for re-use each morning, they were replaced. There were a few cleanliness issues with mildew in the show grout and a few stains on the carpet. Breaks fast was good with a wide selection and machines for coffee, hot chocolate and tea. The breakfast area was packed each morning, but the staff did an excellent job of clearing dishes to free up tables and replenishing breakfast foods. I would recommend staying here.

This hotel is located in a prime location, in the center of Berlin (many important places are within walking distance, on the S-Bahn line that takes you directly to the airport (the stop is not far away).
The hotel is newly built and the rooms are large, well looked after and equipped, even the bathroom is well maintained and comfortable; the bed very comfortable
There is a very comfortable bar and restaurant which is difficult to find in this category, there is also a reading room and an internal outdoor courtyard
The breakfast is plentiful and of good quality
The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and extremely helpful
Excellent prices

Stayed here for 4 Nights and what a great Hotel, Staff are all friendly and really helpful also they all speak amazing English which is really helpful as my German is poor ! The hotel is within a 20 minute walk of all the main sites in Berlin and a shorter walk to Alexanderplatz centre but we found it nice and quiet. To the rear of the Hotel is the River and a River Path which was lovely to walk along. The rooms are spacious and modern and both our rooms were spotlessly clean! There was Tea and coffee making facilities which were topped up daily and a large screen TV, The Bed was large and extremely comfortable, Also liked the chair and table a nice little touch ! We used the Bar which was reasonably priced for a hotel bar and the Barman was really chatty and friendly! Breakfast was fine a nice selection of continental nibbles along with porridge yogurt and fruit ! The outside area was nice too! Great Hotel and stay. I will definitely be staying here again next time in Berlin.

If you go to the hotel website, you should be able to find the email address and phone number under “hotel details“. I tried to list it here for you, but I keep getting a message that I may not include website links in my answer. (even though I believe it is not a website link.) Sorry.

The TXL bus from Tegel Airport goes to Alexanderplatz. You can get down at the last stop or the one before it, Marienkirche, and walk to the hotel. It takes about 10 mins. to walk from either of these stops. If you do not want to walk this much you have to take X9 Bus + U2 subway combination and get down at Bhf Klosterstraße. The hotel is just across the street from this station.
