600 year old home filled with antiques and original walls and floors. Felt like going back in time. The owner was wonderful, helpful, and spoke English fairly well. He showed us where to park our car close by, instead of the lots outside the wall. Breakfast was plentiful with meats, cheese, eggs, assorted breads and pastries, and the usual beverages....

Wanted a reasonably priced stay in Rothenburg and found this place. It's full of character and the rooms are very spacious. There are no TV's but for me this was a bonus!! The breakfast was simple but plentiful with freshly boiled eggs, cheese, meat and delicious breads. I've also never enjoyed a pot of tea like it. Mr Raidel is...

Great character old hotel located in excellent part of Rothenberg, just off the main tourist street. Good bathroom, average bed (soft mattress), adequate breakfast (cold cuts, rolls and hard-boiled eggs). Main down-side is three flights of stairs to our room, and very creaky floors. Owner is friendly, but struggles a bit with English, although much better than my German. Good...

You will not regret staying here. Conveniently located within the city walls, with walking distance everywhere. This is a 600 year old building with all the creaks and charm you would expect. The owner, Norry, was a quiet, gentle, and friendly host. Our room was quaint, private, and located near a balcony. In room bathroom was a plus. A great...

If you really want to enjoy Rothenburg O.D.T you have to stay the night. If you want to enjoy it as it was 600 yrs ago, you have to stay at Gausthaus Raidel. There are a range of rooms and some are perfect for families with interconnecting rooms or four beds in a nice sized area. Having a bathroom gives...

Located within the walls of the old city. The owner was kindly and helpful, showing us where to park within the walls for free for as long as we wished. He spoke good English and was flexible regarding departure time and leaving bags for a few hours after we checked out..The house is 600 yrs old, although you would never...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Gastehaus Raidel per Rick Steves' advice. The reservation process was quick and easy, and the price (69 euros) for a double room was a steal! The house is absolutely beautiful and definitely has that "rustic charm" that Rick mentions in his book. The bed was very comfortable, and I love it because you can...

very nice and helpful host, room clean and comfortable. Still hate the fact that Germany does not understand that a couple need a double mattress..not 2 singles and one cover, not 2 covers. Location of the inn excellent and breaky was very nice also. perfectly located for a visit of the medieval village.Highly recommended.

We stayed 3 nights and the location is unbeatable, especially for the cost/night. The ambience of the hotel is also excellent and it fits in very well with the rest of Rothenburg. Breakfast is somewhat limited but still offers enough options and quantity to get you going for the 1st part of the day. You are somewhat on your own...

Ideal location: 5 min walk to free parking, 1 min walk to ideal picture taking spot (classic Rothenburg), breakfast included (buns, jams, cheese, meats, juice, coffee) Pleasant and helpful staff We paid 90 euros for a family of four, included bathroom with shower Can't imagine how old the place is, but it fits right in with the Rothenburg theme... Would...
