Stayed two nights earlier this month (July 2011) with husband and 14 yo son. The hotel was able to provide a triple room, and the beds were comfy for all 3 of us. Furniture, wall coverings, curtains, and bathroom had a 1980's mobile home style...even the tiny tv was from that time frame. But who goes to Rothenburg to sit...

My wife and I found this hotel in our Rough Guides travel book on Germany. This is a superb location in the town, and is a historic building, built in 1380. We cannot understand why a great hotel like this, in the most amazing European town we have been to yet, was less than 70Euros per night in the middle...

Hotel Roter Hahn provided a clean, spacious room, a helpful front desk staff and an overall high quality experience. The wood panel furniture, although a bit dated, is in good condition. The small card/work table was useful; we never turned on the tiny, late 80s CRT TV. Great water and water pressure but had to rig the hose so the...

Four of us called this wonderful old inn home for 5 days at the start of June. The location one block off the main square and across from St. John's Church was a beautiful spot. Our room overlooked a narrow side street with a small café and large trees where birds sang each morning. From the first greeting to our...

I spent one night in this hotel. I may have been the only one there, and getting help at the front desk was a little slow at times (maybe understaffed at this time of the year?) but I'm pretty laid back and was so excited to be in Rothenburg. The owners were friendly though. The location can't be beat -...

This hotel is located right near the downtown and is easily reached by walking from the train station. We stayed there 1 night and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are simple but clean and are a great value. The food is also very good and reasonably priced. This is a great choice for a budget traveller...

After flying all night and driving half the day, the Roter Hahn was a wonderful place to land. If English-speaking staff is of concern to you: Owner speaks perfect English and staff also is very comfortable in English. Room was comfortable and spotless. Location right in the heart of walled village is perfect. Lots going on, but room was quiet....

Drove from Mannheim to Rothenburg after flying in that morning. The Hotel was lovely, old and full of charm and Antiques. The Staff could not have been nicer and the Owner was quite helpful. I only had one and 1/2 days but will return and will stay at the Hotel Roter Hahn again!

We spent two nights at the Roter Hahn in Rothenburg o. d. Tauber. The location couldn't be better; it's right off the main square. Our room was a basic double. It was clean, tidy, and best of all, very quiet (the only thing we heard was the city bells ringing every hour). The corridors and public areas are a bit...

This hotel is in an ideal spot. It's pretty basic and doesn't have a lot of frills or recent updates, however, it does have triple rooms. This proved to be a constant challenge for us while traveling through Germany, so we were happy to find one. Our room was small, but had three comfortable beds and totally did the trick....
