Rooms are modern, thoughtfully laid out and work well. Our single rooms had a 3/4 sized bed in each ( it seemed), desk, lamp, fan, chair, large mirror, tv, tea/ coffee making equipment, reasonable lighting, good wifi, enough places to plug in charging equipment, and reasonable space for luggage. There was a fridge but it was not operational, one of our party had requested a fridge and an additional working one was provided. The safe in room was small and at floor level, not that big a deal but consider this if you can't easily crawl around on the floor.
Bathroom was small but well set out, walk-in shower sink, toilet, hairdryer.
Parking is 2 buildings over at the sister hotel, seemed to be enough and there was at least one vehicle charging point there.
Breakfast was nice but very expensive for what it was, there are small places just inside the town walls that are a good deal
Gas/ petrol station was close by, plenty of restaurants both inside and outside the town walls, plus bakeries, cafes…
Staff here polite and friendly.
Would stay here again if in the area.
But if you explicitly specify a double bed when booking and then find two small beds pushed together that slide apart when you just look towards the crack in the bed, I find that more than unfortunate.
And when you wake up at half past seven because the footsteps of the neighbors above thunder through the ceiling, which is noisy, I wonder how this shed has ever received any good reviews. I definitely spent quieter nights in some hostel doors.
Old building is all well and good - but if the walls are so permeable that you could easily talk to people walking past in the hallway with the door closed, you can also hang curtains. Speaking of which: the windy shutter-curtain construction, thanks to which it's already bright as day early in the morning (after you've been groping awake for an hour), also subtly misses its purpose. The hotel doesn't seem to want to fix the last negative point - a broken toilet flush that gurgles all night long - even after multiple complaints in the reviews.
When asked about all of these points and a possible discount, the hotel referred us to the booking platform. But that claimed that the hotel didn't want to offer a reduction. To react so ignorantly at this price level - in my opinion, really underground, is something I've never experienced before.

The room was spacious and felt luxurious with a comfortable bed and large bathroom and breakfast was an extensive feast attended by helpful staff.
The location is ideal, just outside one of the city gates from which there is wall access while escaping the hustle and bustle inside the walls. We walked the full circuit on the following perfect crisp winter's day and were delighted to have added the town to our list despite reservations that it might be a bit too touristy. It's touristy, but for very good reason.
If you are coming to Rothenburg ob Der Tauber for business or pleasure do not hesitate to stay at this charming hotel! Their breakfast is fantastic, their staff is warm and helpful, and their location is great. You won't be disappointed!
And the hotel is very comfortable. Modern, with everything the traveler wants - even an electric kettle with tea and coffee options in the room.
The only problem, for those traveling with a lot of luggage, is that there is no elevator - and the rooms are not on the ground floor.
The staff is very friendly, everything works perfectly. Recommended.
