This hotel is located right outside Plonlein, one of the most epic photography locations ever. It is a very European hotel, but the rooms do not feel claustrophobic. Breakfast is delicious, with a beautiful view out the back of the hotel. The game room was fully utilized by my little brothers. One note is that it seemed to attract Asian...

I have always dreamed of visiting Rothenburg ob der Tauber and this gorgeous hotel only made my visit that much more special. This hotel is stunning on the inside with its traditional furniture and huge beautifully decorated bedrooms and bathrooms. There are multiple lounge rooms which were all festively decorated as it was Christmas market season when we were there....

Great location right on the main cobbled stone street leading to the main square, rooms comfortable if a little dated , breakfast very European , generally recommended for a short stay in this wonderful town

Nice location and great view from the mountain view rooms on city wall and vineyards. Good breakfast buffet. Lots of Asian guests arriving by coach. Try having breakfast after 9 AM to avoid the crowd. Good service.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, especially given the reasonable price. We booked a quadruple room but were given a suite with two bedrooms and a sitting area. The room was quiet (other than people coming in late at night) and comfortable. The beds were a bit hard from my wife, but I thought they were perfect. The...

We came here as a second choice because our first lost our reservation. Goldener Hirsch found us a great room. After walking the town, we returned to find our bags in our room. the beds turned down, and upon seeing the pastries we'd brought for a snack, they insisted on retrieving china from the closed dining room, linen napkins and...

Location was excellent, breakfast was great and the bed very comfy. Our room was very large with a lounge/sitting room attached and verandah overlooking the beautiful valley. Bathroom was also a good size, for a change. Some of the staff left a bit to be desired however. Would stay here again.

But very special in many ways. Artwork, antique furnishings, and a very nice staff. I would love to go back to the hotel and the wonderful little walled town. No en suite bath, so you have to book a time. In that way it is fairly typical of European hotels. But to wake in the morning to the clop, clop,...

I am writing this for the U.S. traveler. I must qualify this by saying that my stay was with a tour group organized by my granddaughter's German teacher. I don't know how much the room cost and I was in a single. Also my only comparison to European hotels is the other places we stayed on this 9 day trip....

The location of this hotel right next to the most photographic place of Rothenburg makes it the best bed and breakfast in town. The hotel is built into the castle walls and has the two buildings. Look for the rooms in the main building to enjoy the views on the valley. 115-118 rooms have an excellent view and even the...
