We loved this charming and comfortable inn. The hotel across the street is owned by the same family. We had our nightcaps in their bathroom. The elderly gentleman who mans the desk is the father of Gabrielle, the owner. Make sure to ask him to show you the cellar. There are stone arches from the 1200’s which are outstanding.

The beds are super comfy and the rooms are big. The bathrooms are thoroughly modern — we had a huge walk in shower room and a separate deep soaking bathtub.

The rooms are spotless. And I mean spotless.

Breakfast is delicious. They will cook eggs to order.

There is no elevator due to the historic arches in the cellar FYI. If we return to Rothenburg we will definitely stay here :)

A very idyllic, well-kept and romantic bed and breakfast hotel. The loving management of the hotel is also evident in the attention to detail. The breakfast is presented with great care and has everything you need for a good start to the day.

Based on the photos that had been published so far, I knew what to expect. No, my expectations were completely exceeded. Such a pleasant welcome from the hotel owners and such a beautiful room with a view over the Tauber valley with the babbling of the Tauber were overwhelming. The location of the hotel is quiet and yet in the middle of the town, a wonderful break for me. I felt so comfortable in every respect, thanks to the senior Cef as the good "spirit" of the house. I would love to come back.

Stayed here because it was recommended by a friend and had great reviews. It did not disappoint!! The hotel is tucked away but very close to the Main Street and is actually built on part of a section of the medieval wall. The atmosphere is fantastic, the rooms are spacious and super comfortable, the views from the breakfast room are divine, and we felt very taken care of by the owner and her father Otto! Would totally stay here again!

This enchanting hotel was located on a quiet street along the wall that surrounds this beautiful town. From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcomed. Rooms were all unique, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was served in a room with a lovely view! The only issue was parking. The hotel has garages to park your car but the street and parking spaces are tight so it takes a skilled driver to successfully park. If one isn’t skilled, Otto will be glad to help direct the way.

We had a party of four so we had the separate building, an apartment but almost the entire house.
There were four bedrooms and three baths., all filled with antiques. All were very nice but I especially liked what what had to be the master bedroom on the third floor.
We even had a kitchen, washer and dryer and our own walled in garden!
Breakfast wasn't included with our apartment but for 10 Euros we included it so we wouldn't have to cook.
Very near the old castle grounds, the walking trail through the valley and Town Walls.
I highly recommend this place

Everything was just perfect. The hotel was located within a walking distance from the town centre close to everything you need to see, the spacious room with a stunning view across the valley, the delicious breakfast, the service. The weather played along so we could walk around the walls and the medieval picturesque town, having drinks and meals in some of many restaurants and cafes.

This is a very charming small hotel run by very helpful people who take a great care of the guests as well as the hotel. Our room (on the groundfloor) was really lovely and big including the bathroom. The only tiny drawback was that when we were booking it, it stated it had a terrace which turned out to be a common terrace that anyone could use. Not many people did as we had direct access from the room. No big deal but it would be good to know.

A clever idea for the parking as the hotel has a barn a few steps away where we could safely park two cars.

Can only recommend!

This is a perfect hotel. It hasn’t changed in my 30-odd years of staying here, the same furniture, the same views, the same breakfast and, most importantly, the same host in Herr Berger. He is 85 years old now but still puts in a 16 hour day, immaculately dressed and perfectly charming! It is in a wonderful location next to the town walls and overlooking the river valley and cloister gardens and near to the town museum- which is fascinating- and the town church, which is very impressive! Internet is free and good. Please don’t stay here and then complain it isn’t a modern, slick establishment. It isn’t. There is no lift, no air conditioning , few satellite channels and the bathrooms ( although immaculate ) are a little old fashioned. But it is warm and friendly, charming and picturesque and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Fabulous stay! Otto welcomed us and very attentive entire stay. Room beautiful and spacious, opened onto a large balcony area. Views and bird songs very nice. Breakfast upstairs, eggs if desired, pasty/fruit /juice/yogurt/meats and cheese. Parking for 10€ per night a short distance uphill, adequate but a bit tight for full size BMW wagon, of course the town really meant for waking.

This hotel is probably one of the most beautiful places in this planet, I would challenge anyone to find a more idyllic spot than sitting on the patio of this hotel while the sun goes down. Add to this the most perfect of hosts in Otto, truly one of the finest gentlemen you could ever find on this earth, Otto is the most welcoming and most hospitable person you could find and makes any visit to this hotel truly special. The silence in the rooms is deafening and I the whole establishment oozes peace and quiet. I cannot recommend enough.

Hi, Unfortunately I am unable to comment on other rooms as we were travelling as a couple and are not familiar with Family Rooms at this hotel. If you can get a family room here, do so, as it is a superb hotel.
