My husband and I stayed her for two nights in Dec 2016 for an anniversary trip. I absolutely loved the hotel and our stay in Rothenburg was magical. If I am fortunate enough to return to Germany, I will absolutely visit Rothenburg again and stay at the Markusturm. The hotel is very historic and cozy and located in the heart...

The stay here was wonderful. It is a small and charming hotel operated by the 4th generation of the same family. We visited before the Christmas holidays and every floor was decorated with real trees and greenery. The location is ideal--walking everywhere was easy. We ate breakfast here and it was as good as we could have had anywhere. The...

This really is a fairytale town and the Markusturm is no exception. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. Our GPS took us directly to the hotel, along what looked to be sidewalks at first glance. We parked right in front and our car was immediately whisked away by Daniel. As we entered the hotel we were...

We are so very happy we chose this hotel as our ' base ' for 12 days in Germany. Everyone here is courteous and friendly. Everyone that we encountered on our many comings and goings, always spoke. Everything was super clean. Loved the atmosphere. Wonderful breakfast in the mornings. Dining in the evening was great as well. We rented a...

We ate here twice, returning because the first visit was so delightful. The welcome, service, dining room are perfect. The chef has a limited menu - of mostly local dishes. The first time, I had braised beef; my wife venison. The second evening, I had wiener schnitzel and my wife local trout. The cooking and presentation just right. They offer...

This place was so much fun to stay in! It's got an epic history (ask one of the owners about it) a great restaurant (number 8 in town) and it's in a prime location!! The rooms are modern but eclectic and cosy. The hotel decor is awesome! It feels like an old Inn where one might bump into Little Red...

Great service and location within the walled city. I recommend having dinner in the restaurant. The food was excellent and the portions large. The menu offers good value. There isn't a elevator or AC, but fans are provided in each room.

Very friendly hotel just in the middle of old Rothenburg with excellent restaurant with small brewery. I have booked single room only - room was spacious with large bathroom with bathtub. Dinner in restaurant - two types of home made beers available - light and dark, both very nice.

Location: within the walled city of Rothenberg Hotel: One building, centuries old, typical architecture, they provide parking nearby Room: big, slightly dated furniture and appearance but still quite good, no aircon/fan Positives: location, old-school feel, authentic Negatives: no fan/air-con, noisy because near wooden stairs Ranking at time of writing: #5 of 47 hotels in Rothenburg ob der Tauber The hotel...

My new wife and I only stayed here one night during our honeymoon trip to Germany and Switzerland, but we ended up wishing we had stayed longer. We were consistently impressed with this hotel. The room was spacious. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They upgraded our room for free. And the food in the restaurant was exceptional. The...
