Simple family hotel 10 minutes walk from the ramparts but well maintained and clean. Pleasant welcome. The rooms have a slightly outdated decoration even if the mobile is recent (kitsch hangings, old curtains, old bathroom). Good mattresses. The breakfast room is bright and was nicely decorated for Easter. The breakfast is OK but there is a lack of choice in sweet baked goods because there were only industrial muffins/cakes...fortunately the bread was excellent. We unfortunately slept badly because it was really too hot in the rooms (despite the radiator which we turned off and the cool temperatures of March)....and if you open the window, you have a lot of noise from the road right outside (which is frequented)

The hotel is located just outside the old town on a busy road. Reception is friendly and there are luggage trolleys! As a cyclist, it is nice to take everything with you at once. The single room is functional. Bed is comfortable, door to balcony can be opened. Balcony has seen its best days. Plant sedum on the piece of gravel along the balcony. Makes it friendlier. The bathroom is the epitome of compact. Shower, wash basin and toilet pushed together and the door also opens inwards. It is a pity that the hotel does not have a lobby where you can have a nice drink in the evening. Breakfast is extensive and friendly employees help.

We stayed at Hotel Merian in Rothenburg for two nights in two rooms. Our rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The staff were friendly and spoke some English. Breakfast was very good and our table was assigned each morning. Parking was easy directly in front of the hotel. Easy walking distance into the centre of Rothenburg. The only reason I only gave four stars instead of five was that the wifi did not work the whole time we were there. When we asked at reception they said that they were waiting for someone to come and fix it.

The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are large and very clean. The rooms are also equipped with a kettle. The breakfast has everything you need, from scrambled eggs to yoghurt and something sweet. There is also a coffee machine with good coffee.

Lovely hotel just outside of the old town, close to the station and from my room I had excellent views of the city walls.
The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
Bed was comfortable (despite only being a single bed), and the room was small but very cosy.
Breakfasts were excellent with lots of choice.
The only slight negative I had was that the pillow could have been a bit thicker, but that's only a minor point that doesn't detract from a really great stay

Thank you for staying with us in Hotel Merian. So sorry, your pillow was not thick enough. If you need more pillows please ask for it at reception. If Reception was closed already then its a problem which we understand.

We came late to stay here and the staff was very nice to call us to confirm our stay. The hotel was family business and was not large but very nice. The room was nice with comfy bed and nice room. The staff was very nice and friendly, But the very best was breakfast which was very tasty and delicious. Highly recommended.

The Hotel Merian does not have a lot of curb appeal, but inside it is fresh, clean, and well-lit. It has great access to the city walls, just a short walk. So for the price, the location is very good! The breakfast has nice choices. We were there on a beautiful, cool summer day, so the temps were perfect… but the rooms do not have air con.

One of the best hotels on my trip to Germany. Hotel a stone's throw from the historic center with the possibility of parking your car in the area for free. The reception staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. Large room, heated and well furnished. Very clean bathroom. The breakfast is super with sweet and savory possibilities and excellent coffee. See you again soon

We got a great rate on this hotel, and found our room to be small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, and the desk staff were happy to answer questions and make recommendations.
Short walking distance from the main gate into Rothenburg odT, and easy to find from the autobahn.
Best pillows the whole trip!
