The Freisinger Hof Hotel offers very comfortable accommodations, parking, and superlative food. The gourmet breakfast is served buffet style and guests can eat outside in the summer on the patio surrounded by blooming shrubs. It is difficult for guests to obtain a restaurant reservation because the restaurant is always full---attesting to the quality of the food.

We had a family overnight stay with our canine family member. Overall the hotel was excellent in terms of service and quality. The breakfast had a lot of choice and was great value. Next door was an excellent restaurant! The best part was the little details that indicate care and thoughtfulness including a dog bed and treats for our little pug.

As first time guests we were delighted with our room and the general amentiites available.
The room was spacious and spotlessly clean and welcoming.
Staff were super helpful!
5 stars is NOT enough they deserve 10!
The food and atmosphere in the restaurant was superb too.

This hotel charged me for a booking that I made via Booking.com that I tried to cancel within seconds of making. I was unable to reach them by phone and when I messaged them after 30 minutes of trying to call, they refused to cancel (they responded in two hours to refuse). I submitted a complaint to Booking.com and have heard nothing. This hotel has completely taken advantage of me and Booking.com has been unreachable for help. Beware - totally sketchy practices.

There are numerous excellent hotels in Munich. Unfortunately they are either very expensive or lack character, or both. This one here is the exception, and it is for the right sort of guest almost flawless at that. Housed in a historic brick building,it is lovely to look at, inside and out, and spic and span. It's a few minutes' walk from the river Isar and the surrounding park landscapes, connecting to the English Garden, which is a real plus to help the jet-lagged traveler unwind. The service personnel is very friendly and service-oriented indeed, the buffet breakfast rich in choice, the dinner restaurant very, very good if you like traditional and only slightly fancified Bavarian and Austrian food and wine (beer, too, of course). The rooms are spacious enough and tastefully appointed in a mix of modern and traditional elements with a properly modern bathroom and shower (good pressure). The rooms are well insulated so you don't hear your neighbours or folks in the corridors, and in any case, the typical guest here is the more settled type. The place is very convenient if you want easy access to and from the airport (about a 15-20 minute drive on an almost straight line) and offers parking out front and in a garage.
But understand that this isn't a five-star hotel. It's four star which means the service is less comprehensive, there is no gym worth mentioning (OK, there is one but it's small), no pool either, and no air conditioning. The location is a major limitation: staying here really only makes sense if you have a car or are willing to shell out sufficient dough for taxis. Public transport connections in this spot are a real hassle, and the center of town is not in walking distance. The beds are European size (still, after all these years, European hotels seem to think that a submarine style bunk may be called a "single bed") but at least they are reasonably firm so I slept well. I advise against booking a room facing the road. That is not a small back alley but a fairly lively through-road. And with no air conditioner it will be tough sleeping with closed windows for parts of the year. The rooms facing the backside are the ones to go for. Nice view onto the garden and trees beyond. You might want to ask for a room as far away from the beergarden as possible to ensure quiet. Not that it gets very rowdy down there and they do close down at 11pm I think but still, if you are noise-sensitive like me, then best to make sure.
One more time about the lack of air conditioning. This, like the bed sizes, is a regular problem in (central and northern) Europe. The logic here is: why invest in an aircon if it gets hot only a few days of the year? It must be said that it is not only a "few days", more like a few weeks including surprise heat waves as early as May, and those can be nasty. And some people just don't sleep well when the temperature rises much above 20 C. And if you have a hotel facing a through-road and even make the effort to install relatively well-insulated windows, then it would seem to me that you should at least offer some rooms with aircon.
Enough of the griping! Depending on the time of year, this will be my base camp for Munich henceforth because you cannot find a better deal, with the same rates year-round, in a lovelier setting.

We found this hotel via HRS when travelling from Belgium to Slovenia. Not far off the motorway 99 (ring around Munich), the buildings - hotel and restaurant - are in Austrian/Bavarian style, and so is the excellent 'cuisine' in the restaurant. Staff is friendly, professional and flexible, and rooms and bathrooms are modern and clean. No mini-bar but free wine and water in the room. Also free use of fitness and sauna. A glass of home-made jam as a good-bye present rounded off a perfect stay - congratulations!

Traveled to Muenchen with my fiancee along with other family (kids too). The Freisinger suited all of us well. We stayed on the floor directly above the pub/restaurant area, but didn't notice any of the noise mentioned by others.

The initial check-in was OK. The young lady at the desk seemed a little annoyed at first with our request to have all the rooms together, but they were able to quickly accommodate (in which case, not sure why the frustration). That turned out to be a very isolated incident, the rest of the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

A repeat of previous comments, the hotel is not close to the city center. We opted for a mini-van style cab, a 15 minute ride which came to about 40-50 Euro one way. I figure it equals out somewhere since you pay more to stay closer to the center. Depends on your personal preference, but having the quiet getaway was quite nice for us. After opting for city-center locations in places like London and Rome, guess we finally learned our lesson!

The breakfast is most deserving of top marks. Many many options, whether you're craving some Bavarian Weisswuerste, a simiple bowl of cereal, or the wide selection of Deutschland's trademark bread and meat selections, you won't be disappointed. Great variety, and plenty of it. The Pickled Herring was particularly noteworthy.

Overall great quiet place to stay. We were pleasantly surprised at the quaintness and extremely well kept appearance of the entire property. Clean rooms, and comfortable beds. Wouldn't mind a repeat stay one bit!

Had a wonderful 2 day stay here recently. Pretty hard to find fault with anything during our stay. The room was immaculate, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was probably the best we have ever experienced in Europe. It features free parking and is located in a nice neighborhood though the street its located on is a bit busy. The only downside might be the proximity to downtown though public transportation is only a block away and I'm sure it wouldnt be terribly difficult to use it for a trip into the city center.

Stayed her with my wife , in a small double room on the front of the building.
The room was small for a double but was kept spotless .
Always ask for a room on the back as the road noise with the window slightly open was very annoying and as we were here in hot weather the window needed to be kept open.
We stayed two nights and had a lovely breakfast .Would definatly recommend the st Emmeramsmuhle restaurant a few hundred yards away ,walk dont take the car impossible to park, great for a sunny evening or lunch.
For munich centre take the bus and train ( 25mins) much quicker than the car

This review comes a bit late as we stayed here last year. We stayed here as we liked the smaller scale and it is close to the area (herzogpark) where we used to live when in Munich. Anyway, positive first:

1. Good location, quaint, still close to town. Parking on site. You need a car.

2. Nice Beergarden style restaurant - great garden setting, very good food, reasonably priced.

3. Good breakfast, healthy food kind of thing. Ambience a bit basic, but better than most other places.

4. Staff is friendly and accommodating, bit stiff at times.

Conclusion, this place is much better at food and restaurant service than hotel facilities. We stayed here with 2 kids and probably should have checked better, but the room was tiny and simply too small (price was very reasonable to be fair).

It was very hot, windows are small, there is no air-con (not unusual in Germany), but the was just no way to get air through..

And here the big let down comes. After a long distance flight we were looking forward to a solid night sleep and a relaxing Saturday evening. I got a bit suspicious when there was a band building up a stand and the manager said there will be a marriage party. I said, no problem s long a things wrap up about 11pm.. "sure Sir, of course"...

Result, ultimate nightmare night of a life time..I would have changed for any military barracks in Northern Afghanistan at any time.. and i know what i am talking about..

The "marriage" party was accompanied by a loud old fashioned band playing songs from the "old days".. Nothing wrong with that, but it came to 11, 1130, midnight etc.. and it did NOT slow down! I went downstairs 3x and was always re-assured that this is "last song".. People were very drunk, stumbling around, shouting, laughing, falling over.. it was madness.. In the room, 30 degrees, kids crying as they could not sleep due to the band noise and the drunks...

I was thinking of driving elsewhere, but where, 100am in the morning.. The noise got worse, the heat was mad, could not open the window due to the madness band down there.. At 200am i walked down the 4th time and took matters in my own hand.. Finally the band noise then stopped and a few drunks rolled away or simply fell asleep on their benches.. nevertheless, a few loud drunk talks kept going until like 400am.. Needless to say how the morning looked like, esp as we had to see the sad sight of the hangovers from the night before...

This place has a lot going for it, but to sacrifice all other guests interests for a bunch of old drunken party chaps is at least by our standards, unacceptable.
