We stayed here for 3 nights on a city break. Whilst the hotel does not have a restaurant for evening meals, a bar nor 24 hour reception it has a lot going for it in terms of location and the service it does provide. We arrived 2 hours before official check in time and our room was ready ( this... More

This hotel is in a great location on a quiet street a short walk from the central market and Marienplatz. The hotel gave us two recommendations for dinner which were both local and excellent (no tourists in either one when we visited- Zum Straubinger (Bavarian) & Cafe Monaco (Italian)). The room was small but comfortable for a family of 4... More

I just read the previous review about the bad beds and that's exactly my sentiment. We also stayed 4 nights and woke up each morning sore. I couldn't really describe it until now but as the other reviewer said, the feeling resembled sleeping on a box spring. A very uncomfortable sleep, although I know the jet lag was an issue... More

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel was clean and in a convenient location. I was expecting a little bit more of a hotel for the price we paid. The bed was VERY uncomfortable and it felt like we were sleeping on the box spring. Also the pillows were so bad I used my blow up air... More

5 min walk from Viktualenmarkt and Marianplatz yet in a quaint neighborhood with lovely shops an restaurants. We didn't need the car for the 2 days we stayed. Be advised that everything but restaurants is closed on Sundays so if you plan on shopping in Munich plan for it.

Promptly greeted by the front desk when we walked in - check in took just a second and we were given our keys, wifi password, and we were on our way to our double room. Location: undoubtedly THE best aspect of Hotel am Viktualienmarkt. The hotel is, as the name implies, right on the Viktualienmarkt. A great Weisswurst und Weizen... More

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days. I started in the single room, which is really, really tiny. As I was on a business trip, I didn't care about that, because I'm more concerned about the bed quality and room cleanliness. I moved to another room with a double bed (the single one wasn't available for my whole stay),... More

This place was great for my family of 5. We got the suite upstairs. It was nice to have the easy walk to the outstanding Viktualienmarkt. The upstairs suite has some typical low/slanted ceiling sections, but is manageable. The shower leaked a lot. The included breakfast was marvelous. Loading and unloading was tricky on the crowded street, and parking was... More

My husband and I were lucky enough to book a room here at the last minute during Oktoberfest. Considering the rates we were looking at with other hotels, this was a steal! I was expecting something very basic. The service, room and breakfast exceeded my expectations. The front desk staff was helpful when we had questions, efficient with check-in/check-out, and... Stayed here for two nights to experience the Christmas markets. Hotel very clean, helpful staff and central location for Marienplatz and the subway system. As two ladies we had no worries wLking back to this hotel late evening and overall felt very safe in this city
