This beautifully presented hotel provides all the creature comforts in true Bavarian charm.
Situation only 15 mins by public transport from the city centre and in a quiet cul de' sac neighborhood, walking distance to the Nymphenburg Palace, Hirchgarten restaurant and many other local restaurants, it's location was perfect for our 6 night stay.
Hosts Sebastian, Alexandra and Jan treated us like family, often reminding us to use the facilities just like home. Their attention to detail, knowledge of Munich and surrounds allowed us to plan ahead.
It's not often you find a place where all staff are so kind, honest, smiling, warm and accommodating, like The Liamer Hof.
They offer comfortable beds, clean and accommodating rooms, a beautiful breakfast, laundry service and booking services.
The Hotel Liamer Hof will hold a very special place in our hearts and should we ever return to Munich it will be our hotel of choice.

Dear Lorelle, thank you so much for your positive review. We are pleased to know that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us in Munich-Nymphenburg and really appreciate your positive feedback. It is so wonderful that you got and confirmed exactly what we would our clients from all over the world to experience: Authentic Bavarian Hospitality with a honest, smiling, warm and accommodating staff. We are really happy to know that our hotel will hold a very special place in your hearts and should you ever return to Munich it will be your hotel of choice. Our location direct by the Nymphenburg Palace is indeed unique in Munich. You can spend just 2 days here visiting the Palace with the parc and the many museums as well as the botanical garden or just go to a concert in the evening there. Concerning the nice choice of restaurants you can choose within 12 restaurants and one of them is the biggest beer garden of the world (8.500 seats!) just a few minutes walking distance. My wife and I with together with Jan our front office manager and our friendly staff just love and enjoy our daily work and we always try to be the most helpful and informative. It is important for us to take as much time you need to feel happy and comfortable and just make sure you do not miss any highlights during your stay. In the evening (and also during the day!) our hotel lobby and bar as well as our little garden should offer you the feeling of being at home together with your best friends and certainly also with us. Always get your free good night schnaps at the front desk before going to bed! You will also always find the best available rates on our hotel-own homepage and get a free drink of your choice at our lobby bar. We look forward to welcome you back again and wish you a nice week. Best regards from Munich and Nymphenburg Palace, Alexandra & Sebastian with Jan and the entire Hotel Laimer Hof team.

We chose Hotel Laimer Hof based on reviews, and location outside but close enough with very easy access to the city. The hotel was perfect. It is small, personable and very friendly but never intrudes. We received a lovely welcome, and all the assistance we needed to find our way around. We also got some great suggestions for our first visit to Munich. Beside Nymphenburg Palace and parkland, and the Botanic Gardens, the area also has a good selection of lovely restaurants nearby. The hotel is only an hour away from the mountains too! If ever returning for holiday or business, we’ll really hope Hotel Laimer Hof has a room available for us again! Big thanks to Alexandra, Sebastian, Jan and all the team. You have a lovely place.

Dear client, thank you very much for the positive feedback and the 5/5 you gave us. We are very glad that you were satisfied with our hotel which was perfect for you. Thank you so much to also confirm that our hotel staff is friendly and extremely helpful. We are pleased to know that you had a wonderful stay at our family-run hotel. Yes, our location just next to the Nymphenburg Palace and the huge beer garden is unique and it is hard to find more Bavarian in Munich than here. My wife and I love our daily work with our many clients from all over the world like you and we try to give the chance to experience a little bit of Munich life the way the locals live it. Every single client is suppose to be part of our hotel family and we are happy that you got that feeling. We will certainly share your comments with our team and hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the previous one. We had a lovely 4 night stay here and I would highly recommend this hotel. I last stayed here in 2014 and it is still as good. I’ve been to Munich 6 times and this is my favourite place to stay. We had a tower room which was large and airy, and my teenager was glad as his bed was in an alcove which gave him some privacy. We had prepaid for breakfast and due to Covid-19 restrictions, we instead received a generous packed lunch each day which was handy for a picnic. Jan at reception was very friendly and also helped us to carry heavy luggage to the room. My husband enjoyed the coffee each morning too. It’s a 10 minute walk to the S-Bahn (the tram is closer but the routes to the city centre are currently not running due to roadworks). The neighbourhood is nice and quiet, with several supermarkets close by and some great restaurants. The Indian restaurant on the same street as the hotel was particularly good.

We took a road trip from UK eventually reaching Munich. I decided to book this hotel by the appearance of it looked very authentic and different to your main stream hotels. On arrival we was greeted by Felix who was very helpful in pointing us to the right direction of dinner options! We chose Risotto just few minutes walk away and exceptional food!.
Our room was very cosy and spacious beds was very comfortable and just right for us as this was a special 2nd anniversary trip. Saturday morning we met the owner Sebastian and he is just exceptional his service is above and beyond and so refreshing from usual text book speeches at main stream hotels! He made us coffees and teas in the morning to take with us for our day. He is the nicest person we have ever met in hospitality world! The location of the hotel is out of the city tram takes 15-20 mins max to reach the city. Overall our stay here was enjoyable and we would chose this hotel again when returning to Munich as we like the busy hustle in the city and the return to peaceful area to relax :))) Lilliana was also helpful and great just everyone so lovley here! Highly recommend. Thanks sebastian for your amazing service and the wine and chocolates for our anniversary :)))

This was our 3rd visit to Laimer Hof and in the 4 years since we last visited found that nothing had really changed other than for the better. Its easily our favourite hotel in Munich and reading other reviews seems like others feel similarly. There is still the same genuine welcome and more importantly the same excellent service and attention to their guests. Sebastian and Alexandra and staff are the friendliest people and nothing is ever too much trouble. We sort of know our way around Munich well but we saw them giving help and advice on places to visit and transport to others (they can supply MVV tickets if required at reception).

Rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and clean and although we had a room on the top floor, we enjoyed the exercise up the stairs. We have always loved the relaxed breakfast room and good choice of items. Interestingly whilst we were staying, they were replacing the restaurant floor and we had breakfast very intimately in the lounge area for a couple of days but they managed to cope with this and carried on with the same level of service.

Whilst some may prefer noisy and impersonal city centre accommodation, we love the area at Laimer Hof. It’s a peaceful residential neighbourhood with an added bonus of Nymphenburg parkland a three-minute walk away through a side gate. No place has better transport than Munich and you can get to the central areas quickly and efficiently including the main station on very frequent trams 16 and 17 a five-minute walk away. The trams also go directly to the back of the Viktualienmarkt and close to the Marienplatz. Five minutes further walk takes you to the S Bahn at Laim with direct S1 link to the airport. In addition, there are some excellent restaurants within easy walking distance including a lovely Italian about 100 metres away and a good supermarket opposite the tram stop. Oh and the hotel is also great value.

Sadly, as we were leaving the first cases of the Coronavirus were being reported in Germany and little did we know at the time how quickly and fiercely it would spread. Unfortunately, the hotel like most establishments in the tourist industry have been hit hard by cancellations. We desperately hope the family can get through the coming months and this super hotel can survive and re-establish itself in the better days ahead. We really look forward to our next visit as soon as we hopefully can.

Dear client, thank you for the very positive feedback and the 5/5 you gave us. It is wonderful to hear that we are your favourite hotel in Munich and that you enjoyed an another fantastic stay in our charming and safe neighborhood (your 3rd visit, thank you so much!) just next to the Nymphenburg Palace. Our world is meanwhile very hectic but we try to keep the friendly and personal service (yes, every client should be welcomed like best friends!) and take as much time every clients needs to feel comfortable and enjoy his stay in lovely Munich. Thank you also for supporting our small family-run hotel business those days during the Covid19 Pandemic. Indeed it did hit us hard by cancellations but we are still full of energy and fighting this situation. We just enjoy what we do and we love sharing our daily happiness and those positive emotions with our team and our clients. Just be happy and make the best of every day, there is nothing else you can do those days! The future will be good again and this unique situation brings us all together. We are thankful that you gave us the chance to show our hospitality again and the high quality of service. We also really look forward to your next visit as soon as you hopefully can. We wish you and your family all the best, stay healthy! You will always find the best available rates on our hotel-own homepage and you will also get a free drink at our bar. The whole experience we had in Munich was influenced by our stay at Laimer Hof. After a very long day of traveling and sight seeing, walking up the candle lit steps, opening a heavy wood door we were greeted by Yan. He spent close to 30 minutes visiting with us, serving beer and reviewing the layout, highlights, restaurants and transportation options for Munich. He helped take our luggage up the 3 flights of stairs. I thought he was the owner with the level of care shown.

The room was spacious, had plenty of storage and a nice size bathroom. There was a armoire closet, desk, large and small dresser and extra mirror.

Breakfast was top notch with a variety of fresh foods including breads, cheeses, jams, meats and more!

Sebastian helped us identify the exact tram stops and a few details before we set out for the day. There were specific recommendations for the area we had decided to visit. He sold us the trolley tickets so we didn’t have to navigate the system ourselves.

Everything was quaint and easy access to transportation. The neighborhood was clean and quiet. Highly recommend this location to anyone considering touring Munich.

We are very happy to know that we, Jan and the rest of the staff were so friendly and that you would definitely stay at our hotel again when you travel to Munich next time. We are very happy to share your remarkable feedback with everyone in our team as this is always a special motivation for us to continue the way we do with just plenty of love and daily happiness. This hotel was mediocre, which was surprising given the high reviews. Starting with the advantages, the hotel is in a nice older building, very close to Nymphberg Palace, in a quiet neighbourhood.

Unfortunately they are missing a lot of really important basics such as a safe in the room, a full length mirror, in-room coffee/tea (which I’ve had in every other European hotel I’ve been to), and air conditioning (which isn’t overly surprising for Europe and the age of the building but still worth noting for people who need it to sleep).

The room itself is okay. Bathroom is dated but functional, with a very small shower. It is mostly clean. Also note that they don’t have complimentary toiletries just a single soap dispenser with a 5 in one product.

Also worth noting that although they advertise free parking there are only 4 spots. You will likely need to park on the street.

I decided on Hotel Laimer Hof because of the Amazing Number of Repeat Visitors, Location close to Nymphenburg Palace, and a Cute Picture of them in Octoberfest Costumes. Sadly we never got to see their costumes, but they made up for it with their bubbly personalities, helping us to get a taxi for dinner date, explaining how to enter the Palace through the side building (we could see the Royal Sleighs & Carriages & the Porcelain Museum before the crowds arrived), delivering our tickets to Residenz Concert before we could ask, even helping us to pay for a parking ticket we had gotten in Nuremberg! Clean & Comfortable with Excellent Breakfasts! But their outgoing personalities will definitely be remembered.
Thank you!

Actually, we stayed in Dec. 2019, but good memories last.

And after Covid19 is over, if you still want to see Tokyo, let's talk about house exchange again...

Our family had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Laimer Hof for 4 nights. It was the perfect home base for our time in Munich. We absolutely loved the quiet, tree lined neighborhood! It was a lovely place to walk, close to stores and restaurants, and only a 10 minute walk to the S-bahn. The bus and trolley were even closer. We walked and took public transportation our entire time there.

We had an upper floor room with a high ceiling. While the room wasn't fancy, it was clean and comfortable. Our son had his own bed in a private alcove, which he appreciated. The windows opened for fresh air and we had fans to keep us cool. The hotel was very quiet and we never heard other guests from our room. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were pretty small, which seems typical.

The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast! Every morning we had freshly baked breads and pastries, muesli, yogurt, fruit, cheese and eggs. The quality of the food was excellent! The staff were friendly and helpful as well.

We enjoyed walking around the grounds of the Nymphenburg Palace. There were two excellent restaurants down the street -- Risotto (best Risotto ever!) and an Indian restaurant that was stellar. There are several little cafes nearby as well.

If ever we find ourselves in Munich again we will stay here again!

As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Sebastian, he was warm, friendly and informative. The Nymphenburg Palace is just a short stroll from the hotel and worth a visit or even just a picnic in the grounds. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the SBahn to take you into the old town, there are several restaurants nearby and a huge beer garden which is worth a visit.
The Covid19 pandemic was just beginning to take a hold, Sebastian and Alexandra were getting lots of cancelled booking which were going to have a huge impact on their business, this didn't stop them providing a first class service to their guests.

Dear Suzie, thank you for your lovely review. It is wonderful to hear that you liked our small and authentic family-run Bavarian hotel as well as our good service and friendly staff. We are happy we made your stay nice and convenient. Your positive review gives us new and extra energy (thank you so much!) as at the moment the actual situation with the Covid19 pandemic is extremely difficult for our small family-run business as we are only leasing the hotel and do not own it. But as you nicely wrote this will not stop us providing a first class service to our guests. Alexandra and myself love this job more than everything else and we are just happy to run this hotel in a nice, unique and very safe residential neighborhood. We will make sure to manage this family-run hotel with genuine Bavarian hospitality and service (just with love and passion) for many more years. Our hotel is indeed supposed to be a home away from home for our many travellers from all over the world like you. We are looking forward to the pleasure of welcoming you again soon and to provide you with another memorable stay. You will always find the best available rates on our hotel-own homepage and you will also get a free drink at our bar. We thank you for your recommendation and hope that we may welcome you again when you travel to Munich next time. We wish you a nice week, stay healthy! Hello. Does your hotel have air conditioning? What is the cost of breakfast per person? Thank you!

To the best of my knowledge, there is no air conditioning, but both rooms I was in had very effective fans. Also, it is an old, high ceiling Victorian house, and these are pretty good as far as keeping cool without air-conditioning. In fact, I was there on one of those super hot days when it was 90°, and I didn’t even have to turn the fan on. The breakfast is 12€. Really good!
