Lovely little hotel in quiet upmarket
area near Lehel station but walking distance to everything . The greeting was friendly and efficient. Our room (37) was small but well equipped although some people might find the numerous mirrors a bit disconcerting! The bathroom was also very small . The bed was comfortable. The soundproofing is poor though. The bonus was a lovely enclosed glass sitting area /balcony overlooking the beautiful terrace. Breakfast is a real treat served at the table which is adorned with a proper white tablecloth , a lit candle , silver plated coffee pot and pretty floral china . The breakfast is presented in a 3 tier sandwich stand! The usual stuff - but all very good . The reception and dining areas are beautiful- decorated in gold , white, marble and gorgeous flowers and plants . The terrace outside is beautiful too. The service is impeccable. Apart from the small bedroom & bathroom this hotel is excellent.

I am travelling to Germany at least once a year to visit family. On my way back to Canada I like to stay in Munich for one or two nights. I have been looking for my personal „favourite hotel in Munich“ for several years now; I stayed at Vier Jahreszeiten, at the Munich Palace Hotel, the Westin, the Sofitel etc…

Finally I found my gem and I plan to return every time now I am in Germany.

The Hotel Opera in Munich is not the most glamorous or luxurious hotel. It is a very pretty Boutique Hotel with understated luxurious ambience and character in the heart of Munich.

The room with its own little vintage winter garden is tiny, but truly unique and simply beautiful. I very much appreciated that hotel staff greets you by name every time I even came close to the front desk.

The breakfast is simple but very good and beautifully presented. I can’t wait to be there during the summertime when breakfast is served in this idyllic and beautiful inner courtyard.

The location is spectacular, nestled in probably the most picturesque corner of Lehel. The street is calm, but it is only a couple of steps away from Maximilianstrasse, the Opera house and Marienplatz.

I am happy I found this little precious hotel and I can’t wait to return in the near future.

Generally I always read the reviews, paying maximum attention to the "bad" ones, to get a 360 degree idea of the hotel. In this case I wonder if those who write badly about it have actually stayed at the Opera hotel.
Located a stone's throw from the subway and still a 10-minute walk from the centre, the hotel is located in a very quiet area which takes its name from the St. Anna church which is worth a visit.
The staff welcomed us with professionalism and friendliness and confirmed this impression for the entire stay: at the reception, in the breakfast service and in the housekeeping, I can only offer compliments.
The room (I had room 45, I indicate this because I think they are all different) was in my opinion beautiful, comfortable, spacious and equipped with a small terrace overlooking the internal courtyard; the only flaw is the size of the bathroom, objectively small, but overall it didn't cause us any discomfort.
I would consider the breakfast to be among the best I have ever received, even extending the comparison to higher category hotels. Served at the table in a welcoming environment, without the horrendous buffet that I personally have never appreciated, certainly rich and of quality.
The hotel also has a restaurant but I can't say anything about it because we didn't try it.
In conclusion I can only recommend this structure which has certainly become my point of reference for Munich.

€ 252,00 for a used furniture storage room.
If you intend to stay here in a standard room, you absolutely refuse room 31. This room has the charm of a storage room for broken armchairs and tables, which actually have no space at all in this quite small room and are completely superfluous at all. So there are two ‘children’s armchairs’ standing around here that are old, scraped and broken, as well as a small table that also looks completely desolate, and also two other antique armchairs. Question: Why does a small room need 4 armchairs? Unfortunately, the grey carpeting also gives the impression that it urgently belongs replaced. Door loaves are completely broken by suitcases.

The hotel is located on a quiet side street, a short distance to the metro and tram. The hotel building is lovely and the hotel very clean. Our room was quite spacious, but the bathroom was very small and the shower hopelessly old-fashioned. The bathroom had mirrors on every wall, we didn't like that. The bed was too hard for our taste, we slept badly. TV from the early 2000s, so satellite channels were not available. The breakfast was lovely, the white tablecloths and table service made the experience pleasant and peaceful.

The house deviates pleasantly from the usual standard appearance of many hotels. With its architecture and bright colors, it looks somewhat like a small palace. In addition, a wonderful courtyard, which with its portico and many potted plants has a Mediterranean atmosphere that reminds of a small oasis in the middle of the city. We enjoyed sitting there in the evening and had a glass of wine at the end of the day. Centrally located (2 minutes from Lehel underground station). A great idea is the resident parking permit, which you can get at the reception. Electric car charging station just around the corner. For Munich standards, the price/performance ratio is very good. Two small limitations: For older travelers, at least our room would not have been suitable. To get to the shower, you have to get into the bathtub, which has a fairly high pool edge (about 40-50cm). On the other hand, our room 44 was pretty, but a little dark. As we could see, for example, the neighboring room 45 was nice and bright. So asking for a room is worthwhile.

This lovely, small hotel is a step back in time. Fantastic breakfast is set and served on china with tablecloths just like many years ago with quiet, relaxing music playing in the background. You can order eggs, fruit or cereal in addition to the tiered tray with meats and cheeses, and delicious bread and rolls. Staff is very helpful and polite. Yes it is an older hotel with older furnishings, but that is what makes it special. We had a lovely balcony overseeing the courtyard. Bathroom was small but had everything necessary. Location was great, very close to S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations. Would highly recommend if you're looking for something not cookie cutter! Will definitely return!

Everything was lovely at this hotel. An old building not far from the centre, the public areas were all beautiful and calming including the little back patio area. Our room was sumptious and comfortable. Breakfast was an absolute delight, a breakfast version of afternoon tea. Absolute delight of a hotel.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our two nights at the Hotel Opera in Munich. It is a quiet and lovely hotel that is in close proximity to subway lines and to all the major tourist attractions in Munich.

We were able to take the subway from the airport directly to the hotel. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The morning breakfasts were ample and delicious and readied us for full days of sightseeing.

Should I have the pleasure of returning to Munich I would not hesitate to stay here again. I enthusiastically recommend Hotel Opera to any traveler!

Our room did not but I bet if you requested one, someone would bring them to your room. However, it's the type of place where they would likely offer to take the garment and iron it for you and then you'd have to decide whether to accept or refuse the offer.

Dear Jzippin, Thank you very much for your question. We do not offer refrigerators in our rooms, as our guests prefer personal service. Our small but exclusive Boutique Hotel offers a 24h room-service for cool and hot drinks. With best regards Malte Wiedemeyer / General Manager
