The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and extremely quiet at night. The bathroom had a full bathtub, not just a shower. My only real complaint is that the free wifi was very weak and intermittent. I finally gave up on it entirely. Also, if you want to store luggage at the hotel before you check in... More

Stayed here during the Oktoberfest, which is a 15 minute walk. Good location quite close to the centre, ok rooms and bathrooms but the beds are quite soft and I ordered a double room and got twin which is a shame. That said you get what you pay for and I would imagine that outside of Oktoberfest this is an... More

Used this hotel for two nights to explore Munich. It is a 10 min walk to the city centre so very convenient. It is also two minutes by foot from the Sendlinger Tor "S Bahn". The reception was friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and tidy. Breakfast is basic continental.

Booked two rooms for family of four. Small but comfortable rooms. Easy check in, friendly staff. Great location, only ten-minute walk to Marienplatz, five-minute walk to U-Bahn. The only negative was lousy wifi which didn't bother me but with adult kids whose lives depend on communication, they hated the dodgy wifi. All in all a good, well-priced hotel.

The Acanthus hotel is within a few minutes' walk from all your downtown shopping, sightseeing and beer-drinking in Munich. Old-style but pleasant room with a renovated bathroom. Trams to the central rail station are close by, 10 minutes walk to the S-Bahn, less than 15 to the Hofbrauhaus beer hall. No air-conditioning but a fan is available in the room.... More

Small garage for a smart. A lot of traffic jam around the hotel. Its very loud in the small numbers of the hotel. The price differs a lot. Throught internet platforms you pay at least 50 % less. Normal guest will be cheated. But this is normal for Munich, ecspecially during fairs.

I was recommended to this downtown hotel by friends in Munich. The location was convenient for our needs: one underground stop to the main railway station, plus the city centre is on the doorstep. On first glance the location is quiet, but there was some traffic noise from around 7am. Our room was small but adequate. Beds were satisfactory and... More

I have stayed at this hotel at least 12 times since 2006. Anytime I came to Munich I made a point to stay here. Michael at the desk makes you feel welcomed as well as everyone else at the hotel. The rooms are like being at a good families house or visiting your grandmother. Very few Americans stay there which... More

Spent a week there at a trade show (direct U-Bahn line from Sendlinger Tor station, 100 yds away) and paid over the odds as one does in Messe times, but was very pleased with the general ambience and rooms at this small hotel. There are a couple of nice Italian restaurants and the buzzing Kennedys Irish bar close as well.... More
