Nestled close to Munich's central station and the Oktoberfest grounds, Hotel München City Center affiliated by Meliá receives accolades for its prime location. Guests have called out the spacious, modern rooms and the hotel's stylish atmosphere, while the helpful staff also earns praise.
While many find the hotel to be a good value with comfortable amenities, some reviewers have mentioned issues with noise, temperature control, and service responsiveness. Cleanliness is a standout feature, though the replenishment of tea and coffee amenities sometimes falls short.

Very nice and friendly staff, they speak several languages and try to understand you. There are staff who speak Spanish. The breakfast is correct, with acceptable variety (although it could be a little wider) and correct quality. The room meets expectations, it is modern and well equipped, with a good full bathroom. One aspect that could improve is the cleanliness in some areas of the room since there was a bit of dust accumulation, but in general the opinion of the room is positive. The beds were comfortable and large, and the pillows were also comfortable. We found the location better than expected, with the metro on the corner of the same street, which takes you to the center in 2 minutes. It is not an area full of people at night, but we were not afraid at any time. Without a doubt, it is a hotel in which we would repeat.

I chose this hotel according to the reviews I had read . And we were happy to stay there ! The front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful! We had free water in our rooms every single day. The location is very central and safe at the same time. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was absolutely delicious!!! Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good balance between price and comfort. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in Munich ! ❤️

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
We stayed for a short trip in Munich and had a suite (2 adults and two children). The rooms are large enough but have a disadvantage that the bathroom is small and for four people it is a bit tedious to fix.
Positive we found the bed / mattress and pillows... Have rarely stayed so well in hotels.
Breakfast was adequate and there is something for everyone.
The staff was very friendly and nothing was put on, or played.
The proximity to the city center is perfect for shopping, or sightseeing.
Can only recommend the hotel for this price/performance ratio.

Great hotel, good price and very well located. The rooms, at least those facing the inner courtyard, were very quiet and well equipped. The reception and staff were very friendly. The breakfast was very good. Since we were in Munich, we would have been happy with some white sausages for breakfast, but unfortunately there weren't any. We're used to other hotels in Munich that have better deals. But otherwise there was nothing to complain about.

The hotel is totally overrated with 4 stars. There are simply too many weak points in the individual details. Starting with the check-in, which takes forever, through the breakfast room, which is far too small for the many guests, to the thin walls in the rooms. Apart from that, the location of the hotel is not in the best area either (it is close to the train station). Of all the points of criticism, the space problem and the associated loud acoustics in the breakfast room are particularly worth mentioning. It's like a youth hostel here!! If you don't get there early enough, for example, you can sometimes have to wait quite a long time until a seat becomes available. The tables are also so close together that you are often bumped into by people walking past while eating or drinking coffee, some of whom are very inconsiderate. The choice of food and products is a matter of taste, but what is really not acceptable is the bad coffee. Both from the 2 coffee machines and from the pot (if some selfish person hasn't taken it with them to their seat). The staff is very friendly and helpful, but understaffed, which creates an additional sense of hecticness. Our conclusion: We would not consider this hotel on our next trip to Munich.

We stayed here 7 Dec for the Christmas Markets. Booking in easy enough. Room overlooked courtyard level 3. No water for nearly 4 hours. Burst main. Room was hot and stuffy even with heating off and window open at night. 2 single beds pushe together and 2 quilts. Bathroom and walk in shower were good. Tea and coffee in room was not replenished every day, had to pinch it from dining room. Coffee machine in reception out of use for entire 3 day stay Meal times were manic!!!! Tables VERY close together and not enough staff. Queues at breakfast, however breakfast was ample. Bar area was busy, again understaffed. 20 min walk to Karl and Marienplatz for Xmas market. 15 min to bahnhof. This was a package deal so hotel and flight included. Hotel is situated in middle of Eastern European area so bit run down.

Room was comfortable but doesn’t look a lot like the pictures. Bathroom is small. Big step to get in and out of tub/shower. We stayed there because it was close to the Oktoberfest grounds, and since it was Oktoberfest time, the rates were 6times higher than usual. Probably was the same everywhere. Breakfast buffet was good and had a reasonable selection of European and western foods.

Centrally located hotel, very close to the old town, Oktoberfest grounds and Hauptbahnhof, yet still a quiet location, with all the amienities that one would expect in a good hotel. Staff were helpful and the rooms spacious and well-equipped. The bed was very comfortable, shower excellent and small balcony overlooking the courtyard was lovely; it was a real treat to be able to open the window and alternate between AC and real air. The hotel has a small shop to fill the fridge in the room as well as a gym. The local restaurants are a mix of Afghan and Middle Eastern on one side of the street and more local German on the otherside.

Very nice hotel close to the main train station and about 10-15 minutes to the historic centre. If you take the right exit from the station, you’re there in 5 minutes so it’s very well located.
It was quite busy when we arrived so we had to wait a little while. My fault: I’d received an email offering online check-in but hadn’t done it. Carmen, our receptionist, was very friendly and helpful. As a member of the Meliá group, we were offered a free welcome drink which was nice.
Our room, on the 5th floor, was spacious, modern and clean. We’d requested a room high up and facing the courtyard and it was nice and quiet. It had a safe, a fridge and a comfy bed. Unfortunately the curtains didn’t cut out all the light so I was awoken much too early. Also, my husband had problems with the WiFi connection and the shower was plumbed incorrectly so that hot water would come out when turning it to cold!
Checking out was simple: everything was done online and very quickly.
We’d recommend it.

This hotel was perfect for our weekend. Our room was a decent size, with a walk in shower, the room overlooked the courtyard so it was very quiet. Breakfast was good and set you up for a day of exploring wonderful Munich. At night time there is the friendly bar to use for a night cap. The location was great, a short walk from the station and not far to walk for all of the attractions. I would happily stay here again, and the staff were also very friendly.
