Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

WunderLocke is celebrated for its modern, clean rooms complete with practical amenities such as kitchens and washers, although a few guests have pointed out cleanliness inconsistencies. The service earns praise for its efficiency and warmth, but some visitors have experienced minor hiccups. While the hotel's amenities, including a gym and pool, are generally valued for their utility, opinions vary on their sufficiency.
The location is well-liked for its metro accessibility, notwithstanding some concerns about its remoteness. The design fosters a stylish, comfortable atmosphere, yet the value proposition is occasionally questioned due to the cost of extras.

Property's Favourite Review
The rooftop terrace units felt very cramped (and awkwardly designed if you're tall or want to shower without water flooding the bathroom). With the help of one superhuman named Laura, who went above and beyond to help us with a problematic dog who decided he no longer wanted to do 7 floors on an elevator, we switched to a ground floor mezzanine unit and everything feels much better down here. It's amazing what a slightly different design (and direct access to the ground floor for an anxious doggo) can do. The service from Laura and the other staff at reception is superb, and the staff (along with some pretty lovely decor) make the place feel welcoming and comfortable.

Love the room - we were in the balcony suit - modern not too over the top
Receptionists were really friendly and accommodating - we arrived at around 10am to check in and even though the website states check in is at 4pm we only had to wait around 20 minutes for our room to be ready.
The pool looked lovely but we forgot our swim wear!
Very very close to the train/metro station 5 min walk - trains were easy to navigate when you get the hang of it.
Leaving the airport we got the train - we asked the information desk and they were very helpful and gave us a metro map which we used for the rest of the trip
Buying tickets at the station was very easy but you can do this on the app MVV-App or MVGO - we just did it at the station. remember to validate your tickets, look for like a blue box and it will stamp the tickets. We found that if you got a single ticket from the airport and then for the rest of the trip bought a weekly pass it was much cheaper as the airport is in M5 and most/ if not all sight seeing attractions etc were in the zone M - if you bought a weekly pass for M6 it was a lot lot more expensive than a weekly pass for zone M. Taxi from the airport to our hotel was €120 which was crazy so the trains were the best use of transport - the trams were good too and the weekly pass covers trams!
Everything seems to be shut on a Sunday so might aswell leave that day.
We found that 2-3 full days are plenty as it’s a small city and not a large amount to do.
The BMW museum and Olympic park was the best part of the trip!
I would highly recommend this hotel compared to any others - location may not be central but it’s so close to the metro it was not a problem at all. If I was to come back I would only ever go to this hotel
Only got one toilet role… ran out and for a 4 night trip we didn’t get our room cleaned - we had to ask reception for more toilet paper and they said they were waiting for delivery (not sure if they understood what we were asking) - as we were going into our room we saw the cleaners trolly and just took one from there! - there were plenty in her basket!!
Water pressure for shower is not amazing and the temperature goes cold after a while - not the worst just something the hotel could work on
The bathroom was really modern and clean
The hotel was silent at night - very peaceful
The bar was a good vibe but they should introduce mocktails for people who don’t tend to drink alcohol
We didn’t have breakfast or any food at the restaurant as we felt we didn’t need to as there are penh of nice spots for brunch lunch and dinner in Munich - we used tiktok a lot to find places to eat and they were all lovely
Most tourists attractions were inexpensive and a lot did student discount!
Don’t buy water at the hotel one bottle was €4 - there is a supermarket near by close to the train station
The rooms/hotel is very hot - fine for October yet at night it was slightly too hot so I would hope they have aircon for the summer - maybe something to enquire about
The bed we had was about half a foot from the floor - so make sure you choose a room that fits your ability - ie if you have a bad back don’t pick a room with a bed basically on the floor

I recently stayed at this hotel and was very satisfied overall. Here are my detailed impressions:
Rooms:
The room was spotlessly clean, well thought out and modernly decorated. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The sleeping level at window and mattress height was unusual at first, but you quickly get used to it. There were no defects or dirt. I found it particularly positive that the room is cleaned only once a week for longer stays, which is very accommodating to my sense of sustainability and avoids unnecessary cleaning.
Facilities:
The kitchen was excellently equipped with microwave, stove, dishwasher and washing machine. Crockery and cutlery were available in duplicate, which means that if two residents were living there, washing should be done daily or the small dishwasher could be used once a day. The fridge provided enough space for the entire stay.
Service:
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with any request. Her courteous appearance has made my stay very pleasant.
Breakfast:
The breakfast for 20-25€ per day was delicious and regional, but a bit sparsely equipped. It is sufficient, but can become a bit monotonous during longer stays.
Location:
The car park is not directly at the hotel, but a few minutes walk away. In bad weather the trail can be uncomfortable, but in my case there were no parking costs. Shops are also not nearby, but within walking distance if you accept a short walk.
Overall, my stay was very pleasant, and I would recommend this place, especially for those who value cleanliness and friendly service

The hotel is tastefully decorated, smells very good and has a small, beautiful pool, which is besieged on sunny days by all hotel guests including children. Unfamiliar was the online check-in in advance and also that the payment was collected on the morning of arrival, although one has not yet been on site. The room is very thoughtfully decorated and designed, only the air conditioning is quite noisy. The bathroom has a low ceiling and has a normal shower head - no waterfall/rain shower. The breakfast buffet for 25 EUR is not worth its price and in retrospect also understandable that no pictures of the breakfast can be found online. Alternatives are scarce: exclusively pretzels on Sunday, croissants are no longer available at 10 am - welcome to Bavaria. Metro is 150 away and easily accessible.

The hotel is very modern and hip. I really liked it at first glance. The rooms are very practical, but very cozy with floor-to-ceiling windows. That's great!
However, a lot of things are not thought through and planned/organized to save money. The following points are purely subjective and other guests may feel differently. I have defined the following points of criticism:
- The fact that everything is communicated in English before the trip after booking is strange when I book a hotel in my own country (of course I speak English)
- Despite the short time since it opened, there was already a lot of limescale and heavy wear in the bathroom. One of the kitchen doors could no longer be closed and the soap dispenser in the bathroom didn't work.
- The light from the microwave was so bright that it lit up the entire room, which had a massive impact on sleep.
- The mattresses were already saggy. You always slide into the middle of the bed when you're lying alone.
- The light in the sauna was off and a timer and motion detector also turned off the light in the hallway in front of it, making it pitch black.
- For several hundred guests, one shower in the sauna for men and women is not enough.
- There is no changing room for the sauna and no bathrobe in the room, which would have been very strange to walk past the public area at the reception and in the area where guests work with laptops in a bathrobe.
- There is no relaxation room for the sauna. You stand in a small, windowless hallway and can't go anywhere.
- The room was 17°C when you arrived (outside temperature: 10°C). It took hours for the room to warm up and the heating was extremely loud.
- There was only one person at the reception when you arrived (around 5:30 p.m.) who spoke no or very poor German. On top of that, she was fully occupied with another international guest, so you couldn't ask any questions, let alone check in with the person. The self-check-in counters are highly impersonal and special requests (such as a room as high up as possible) cannot be accommodated.

WunderLocke Hotel in Munich's Obersendling district can be reached easily from the city center by underground. In addition to a restaurant and bar, gym, sauna and outdoor pool, guests also have access to a co-working space and a green outdoor area.
All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment is stylish yet practically furnished and equipped with Wi-Fi, TV and a kitchenette with dishwasher and washing machine. For a business meeting and an (extended) weekend, we didn't miss anything.

I am thrilled with the hotel and the concept behind it. Each room is equipped with a kitchen and washing machine, perfect for longer stays. The reception is super friendly. Everything is very clean. You hardly hear anything from the other rooms, it is very well insulated. The furnishings of the rooms are great, you have everything you need. The hotel was 2 minutes walk from the subway station. You can get to Ostbahnhof in about 30 minutes.
Only the food in the hotel (breakfast and so on) was quite expensive, but you don't have to eat there. And the booking service before arrival is quite impersonal, as it is automatically generated emails and if something doesn't work (in my case the visa) or you have questions, there is only an English-speaking hotline. That was a bit annoying. Otherwise everything was great! Highly recommended!

Great design! Coffee was delicious and nice that it was included! There was enough space in the apartment for a family. The connection to the subway was also good. It took about 8 minutes to get to the train station and then about 15 minutes into the city. The design of the entire property is very appealing!
Now for the flaws: the air conditioning and heating were unpredictable/but you couldn't turn anything off either... it was loud and sometimes hot because of the radiators, which meant that the air conditioning would then come on again... even at night. So sustainability is more of a pipe dream here.
The taps are always splashing you with water, you can't open them enough to stop them splashing you with water, which is particularly annoying with children. Curtains are impractical and dusty (problem for allergy sufferers). Unfortunately, there are no hooks for towels in the bathrooms.
The TV kept freezing, but that wasn't so bad for us.
It's a shame that they don't clean every two days. (So you always have to ask about toilet paper/soap/dishwasher tablets, for example). We had booked for 4 people and didn't have enough plates/cups/cutlery.
You also have to know that there is a small selection of breakfast, but no buffet. I would have been annoyed if we had booked it as a flat rate for €22 per person and we had gotten a sandwich or yogurt with muesli for that. That was not clear from the description on the travel platforms. We only found out about it when we wanted to book breakfast for Sunday.
It's a shame, a buffet would be cooler.
The smoke from the smoking area in front of the entrance in the basement always drifted into the bedrooms, which made it impossible to ventilate in the evening/at night.

Take the underground from the airport (get directions from hotel) as a taxi is about $120 US! The front access is difficult to find as it is halfway down a side street but is well marked. Customer service on the front desk is excellent and eager to please and is available 24/7! They will even lend you an adapter if your converters for electrical current don’t work and will tell you where to purchase one. Location is great only half a block to the underground which gets you to the city center in about 30 minutes. The apartments come in various styles and bedroom configurations and are fully equipped with washer/dryer, stovetop, refrigerator and microwave and dishwasher and are very space efficient. I booked a one bedroom unit which had the large queen/king bed on a slightly raised level with one side up against a wall and one side with easy access and exit. It was a pain for me as my wife got the easy exit side and I had to crawl out of the bed over the end Togo down the step in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. There was also a couch, a small table and a nice sized flat screen TV, and a desk. This was the most economical unit and was actually very nice if you are willing to put up with one person having to climb out of the bed over their partner or the end of the bed in the middle of the night. We got a great rate of about $60 per night for 7 nights off season at the start of March. Our dishwasher malfunctioned when we attempted to run it on the morning of the third day and we were complimentary upgraded to a two bedroom suite with all the same features and a large dining table with the two king sized beds in separate bedrooms and easy access to the bed from both sides. That unit is nice and large and would not cost much more if you wanted a little more creature comforts! Housekeeping was very nice and helpful and spoke excellent English as did the front desk and were also eager to assist, telling us they would take us to show us the entrance to the underground if we needed them to, and describing clearly how to get to it! Not in the city center, but very convenient public transit to it and very reasonable at under 5 euros for a daily transit pass with about 30 minutes to the city center! An absolute bargain and highly recommended if you have more sense than money!

At 71.3 EUR per night for a double room (without breakfast, but incl. Sauna and gym) there is really nothing to complain about. Room with wide and high window frontage, feels pleasantly large, although in fact it may only be average in size. The check-in process was bumpy: I had entered my ID data into the online booking system in advance after being advised that I could save time at check-in. On the spot I had to scan my ID card again at the self-check-in. That didn't work, so I had to start the check-in with a member of staff. Overall, therefore, much more time-consuming than expected. I also had a special request (courier delivery to the hotel on the day of arrival, but before check-in) that worked well.
The hotel is of course far from central, but almost directly at a U3 station, and so you can also quickly get to the center. In a few minutes you can also reach an Indian restaurant where I was satisfied and could eat significantly cheaper than in the hotel restaurant.
