Very nice place to stay in Munich! Easy walk to the main train station. Old town area (Marienplatz, etc.) s just a 10-15 min walk.

The rooms was clean, quiet, and well appointed. Comfy bed. The breakfast was amazing!

We would definitely stay here again!

Jean-Claude at reception is a true proffessional who pre-empts every need.
Very welcoming and helpful.
The matress was perfect, plenty of soft pillows and windows you can open for fresh air.
Coffee machine, water,a fridge and an iron if requested. (I angrily moved from the 4 star Eurostar Grand which had none of this!!).
The breakfast buffet is still self service, as you just have to put on provided plastic bag gloves whilst in the buffet area, (a lot of covid sensitive hotels are not). The food is absolutely wonderful and hugely varied with many exotic choices.
The underground car park is a bit tight but there is are limited larger outdoor spaces on their lot.
Location is right on the edge of the center, surrounded by shops. restaurants, fast food joints, convenience stores, hair dressers/barbers and chemist shops. The beautiful city is a short walk away.
The rooms facing the rear are surprisingly peaceful considering the location!
A great atmosphere with a comfortable street facing lounge bar with plenty of comfortable couches, and from the amount of guests, a very popular hotel.

I've stayed at a few places near the rail station and I think this is my favourite of the many options available near there.

Like most rail stations in Europe the area is a bit of a mix but the hotel is very convenient if you have heavy luggage and are just stopping for a day or two en route. It's a short walk to the central tourist area.

The rooms are nice and spacious, spotless showers and good beds. The (included) breakfast is excellent and has the best range that I've seen in that area including some options to keep the Scandinavians happy. WiFi works well.

My only very minor gripe was I couldn't immediately see if the coffee in the rooms was free or chargeable but I'm sure I could have worked that out. Oh, and there's no view from the hotel room, just looking over a quiet courtyard.

This hotel ticks all the boxes and at a great price. The staff is great, the rooms are pristine, quiet, very comfortable and the location is superb. I stay in hotels close to 40% of each year and I am very particular about where I book. Being close to the train station was a huge bonus given we trained in/out from the airport and spent a day outside of Munich. The hotel is also a short walk to the city center. My daughter and I had a wonderful stay and I would definitely recommend to all. The breakfast was also a bonus and we never missed a morning despite not usually being breakfast eaters!

Firstly, thank you to Hotel Marc for holding my reservation and allowing me to pay for my room upon check in after I was confused with the hotels’ booking system where payment is requested after reserving the room. It was just confusing for me. Thank you for your understanding in this matter, it was greatly appreciated and I am so glad I got to stay at your excellent hotel.

I feel that Hotel Marc offered great value for money, the rooms were very spacious by European standards which, in addition to the quality furnishings and fittings gave a sense of luxury to the room. The bed was very comfortable.

I was very appreciative of an in room fridge and kettle which are rarities in Europe.

Special mention to the man on night duty at reception, he was very welcoming and kind.

I did not have the breakfast buffet so cannot comment on that. Their are numerous restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk. Munich main train station is certainly walking distance (with or without luggage). The old town is a short tram ride as are most of the local attractions.

A small matter but the floorboards could be washed more regularly and it would be good if the air conditioner could be set at a lower temperature in summer as it is a little noisy to leave the windows open.

I would love to stay at hotel Marc on my next visit to Munich.

I don’t normally do a review unless things are really good or really bad. Happily the Marc Muenchen falls into the first category.
Based on our expectations this hotel ticked all the boxes, namely:-
Always cheerful staff at reception
Clean and spacious room
Comfortable beds with a pillow menu
A smart tv that was easy to connect to an iPhone
A great shower with an actual door that kept the bathroom floor dry
Quality toiletries and wash cloths
Opening windows for fresh air
Located only a 5 minute walk from the Munich Hbf station and 10 - 15 minute walk to the centre of old town for shopping and sightseeing
Plenty of nearby restaurants and eateries
The location looks a bid shady but we always felt safe walking around during the day or night
Located in a side street the noise at night with the windows open was bearable, after all this is a city.

Everything was good, the hotel has a drinking water dispenser and you can choose still or sparkling water. It’s really convenient.

Breakfast was good too, quite a good selection, perhaps can add some green veggies?

Room was fine and clean. While the hotel is located very close to central station and Marienplatz, the street where the hotel is located, is rather quiet.

The only setback from giving full 5 stars is the Wifi connection. I couldn’t access the Wifi on my laptop for the 5 nights that I stayed and the staff couldn’t help as well.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was good, nice lounge area in reception and we made use of the accompanying bar (rude not to!) although it was a short walk outside to get breakfast in another hotel! Due to staffing issues we gathered. There was no kettle in the room (due to Covid), you could buy hot drinks from the bar in reception. There was free still, ‘mild’ sparkling & normal sparkling water available from the water cooler in reception.
The train station was a 5 minute walk away and there were good transport links around Munich. Although mostly we walked.

Proximity to train station and bus stop is great. Nearby restaurants are good even if a bit touristy. Coffee shops and bakeries close as well

The hotel had everything we wanted in term of comfort and convenience. Some may prefer plusher digs- perfect for us.

The single suggestion I have is the availability of coffee. Getting it was clunky as I was directed to the breakfast area to help myself where I was asked for room number and felt stingy explaining I only wanted coffee. I’m not an early morning eater, so the 18 euro bfast was not worth it. I just wanted a hot coffee to start my morning. I suggest coffee service separate from bfast area.

If I’m back in Munich, I will stay at the Marc again.

Great location - right next to the central station and approximately 10 minute walk to Marienplatz.

Easy to reach from the airport on the S1 or S8 line which cost just under €25 euros for 2 single tickets versus approximately €70 for a taxi.

The room was a good size, lovely and warm with helpful staff.

There was also a Lidl at the end of street, cash points and decent cafes / coffee shops nearby.

Would agree with other reviews that the floor was dusty in corners and under beds but not to the point that I felt the room wasn’t clean.

The coffee situation was strange. There was a machine in the room and pods etc supplied on day one but never replenished. We did request coffee on the last day and they seemed shocked that we didn’t have coffee in the room already.

We were there during the European heat wave this past summer. Our room had air conditioning that worked very well. We didn't need the heat, but I'm sure it will keep the room comfortable. Have a great time!
