It was fortuitous I had found this hotel as there was scarcity of hotel rooms in the centre of Munich. The hotel is small with a ground floor lobby and a first floor lobby.

I rented the triple room, top floor room but be forewarned there is no lift access. You can take it to the fourth floor then climb a flight of stairs. Rooms are very comfortable and it seems, as other reviewers have pointed out, take great care and pride in running the hotel.

There is a breakfast included and includes cold cuts, cheese, bread and other items making up the German breakfast. Great staff and value for money. Well located about 20 mins walk to Marienplatz and is in a university area. Would definitely recommend it.

The hotel is located within walking distance from the University, Marien Platz and other central institutions. The staff is super friendly, breakfast is very tasty and great variety of food is available. I enjoyed my staying at the hotel, and am looking forward to my visit in August. They even serve breakfast in real Rosenthal china. I felt like queen.

Started out in Hannover; was going to do some business there (Messe), then drive south, eventually hitting Munich after Ocktoberfest. However, I made the mistake of renting a car thu Priceline (RentalCar.com) to be picked up at Hertz HAJ. I got there late & they had rented the car & no other car was available as it was Messe. Called RentalCar.com to get a partial refund which they finally agreed to (after speaking with the HAJ Hertz manager & less their automatic 3 day penalty) but the have not paid anything. Don't rent a car thru Priceline and especially thru RentalCar.com! Plus the latter are liars. So I did not make it to Munich this time (stayed up north) but I have stayed at Hotel Hauser on previous trips to Munich. I can strongly recommend them: reasonable rates, nice rooms, clean & quiet, and located in the center of the city (plus has a great breakfast).

Great hotel right in the heart of Munich. Very clean and the breakfast was superb. Margaret took such great care of us. Very helpful with how to get to the Octoberfest, even when I lost one of my hearing aids and told her the day we left, she went over to the Irish pub we were in that night and asked if they found one. She went the extra mile for sure. Great small hotel, decorated beautifully and had laundry service to boot. Would go back there again
Thanks Margaret.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Hauser; so much so that we will be staying with them again this year!

Situated in the University district, the Hauser couldn't be more convenient. Major art galleries, the Englischer Garten and the U-bahn are all in easy walking distance.

Our room for 3 was large, comfortable and sparkling clean. The shower was modern and spotless.

In one of their two breakfast rooms we enjoyed a plentiful breakfast consisting of cereals, yogurt, cold meats, boiled eggs and a multitude of baked goods.

The staff was largely hands-off, which I believe to be a good thing, because you feel less like a tourist and more like part of the great city of Munich!

The positives.Good location, free wifi, metro stop a block away and the English Garden park is about 2 -3 blocks. The breakfast buffet was adequate. Price is very reasonable. The staff, Hans was helpful. Location, price and reviews on Trip Advisor were deciding factors in choosing this place. I must admit 1 picture of a bed on Trip Advisor did cause me to debate this choice. In retrospect I should have heeded that concern.
Our room was 1 flight up from check in desk. There is no lobby. There is a small 2 person elevator Tiny room, the smallest of the nine places we stayed. The bath was also small. Had a corner shower that I could barely turn in. The bed was bad. It was a double at best. The bed frame was actually a wooden box in which the very thin mattress lay. The mattress was maybe 4-5 inches thick. It was bad! We didn't sleep, we dozed at best. In the morning we asked about another room and were told none were available. We left and moved to a Marriott. Hans was gracious enough not to try and charge us for the 2nd night we originally reserved. I would not stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Hauser Hotel in September during Oktoberfest. The hotel is located near the University which provides plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and shopping. You are within a short walk to the beautiful English Garden. (Certainly worth a visit) There is a U bahn stop located very close to the hotel and you are two short stops from the city center. We also walked to the city center which was a pleasant 15 minute walk. Our room was comfortable - not large but that was expected. Unfortunately, our air conditioning wasn't working properly and made it a bit warm while getting ready in the morning. Breakfast was a traditional German breakfast - filling and warm. The wifi was a bit spotty but worked well enough for our needs. The staff was pleasant and assisted us with getting a cab for a very early flight. Overall, I would rate this hotel very good.

This hotel is located in a very vibrant university neighbourhood with lots of shops, cafés,restaurants. As well there are several museums art galleries within yhree or four blocks. Subway station is a block away. We had no problems finding a good coffee and meal at a very reasonable price. The hotel is very simple offering clean and somewhat small but efficient rooms. The staff spoke English and were very friendly.Rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy from cafes below so you will have to rely on the air conditioning. The breakfast was simple but well stocked with cereal yoghurt fresh fruit and pastries. I would recommend this to people who would like to stay a bit out of the way from the downtown core. However it is a short pleasant 15-20 minute walk from this hotel to Marienplatz. I would definitely stay again.

We visited Munich with a couple of friends for the Christmas markets.
Choosing the Hotel Hauser was a very worthy decision.
We got a room (38) on the 3rd floor viewing the street.
The room is rather small but very clean and well maintained.
The double windows kept the room quite. Even though it was 2-4 C outside, we didn't have to use the radiator or the AC, the room was warm enough.
The bed was comfortable but a bit squeaking.
Bathroom towels should be a lot softer.
The Breakfast buffet was a real pleasure. Lots of choices of everything.
TV lacks English speaking channels.
WIFI signal in the room was not steady.
Front desk and breakfast room service was very friendly.
The hotel surroundings are busy with students, and many choices of foods.
Smokers can use the covered balcony on the entrance floor.
The Utzinger German restaurant across the street is very recommended, we dined there 3 times.
It is not a touristic area and that is quite nice. U station 3&6 quite close.
We will be back.

Attending a conference at TUM in early October, I spent a few nights at this hotel. I arrived on Sunday, 10/04, the last day of Oktoberfest, and had reservation (and plans) to stay till Thursday. Due to an unforeseen emergency at home, I had to cut short my attendance at the conference by one day. This resulted in my checking out from the Houser hotel one day earlier than previously planned.
Upon my learning of the emergency Tuesday morning, I returned to the hotel where I met and informed Mr. Hauser (the owner) of my plan to depart the following day. At the checkout on Wednesday morning, I requested a refund for the unused night (Oct. 07) but was refused. According to the staff on duty that morning, in order for her to approve / grant the refund I had to inform the hotel, of my plans for early departure, at the time of my check-in!
As you can imagine, this WAS an impossible, not to mention unreasonable, requirement, since, by definition, emergencies are unexpected events. One does not plan ahead for them. Needless to point out that I chose not to discuss the matter any further with the aforementioned staff since she appeared to have already decided that no refund was going to be issued.
Upon my return to the States, I tried, albeit unsuccessfully, to reach a settlement with Mr. Hauser. His refusal is troubling considering I have fully complied with my contractual responsibilities by staying the required minimum three nights as indicated in the reservation document. It is even more troubling when you consider that there are no mentions in the reservation document that one would forfeit the cost of unused nights.
I have been traveling for 22 years. I have stayed in countless hotels in over 37 countries. And when you travel for business, it is inevitable that every now and then you have to alter your plans by either cutting short or extending your stay. But, this was the first time ever in all these 22 years that I encountered such unsympathetic, unprofessional, greedy people.
If you can, stay away from this place. Stick with a well-known brand if at all possible.
