I'm really conflicted about this hotel, in some ways it's a great hotel and in others not so much. I'll start with check in, I booked a "Queen bed" which to me means bigger than double especially as there is an option for just a double. so had to pay to upgrade to a "executive room" which had the bigger bed, so another €60 on to our bill, but was discounted from €90. room was big, bed was very big and very comfortable. had to ask for a kettle (had a coffee machine but no kettle) had a minibar so a fridge which the first room didn't have even tho website says a minibar. all rooms have balconies but no furniture out there so I had to ask for chairs, also dont think the balconies have been cleaned in a while, i left foot prints in the dust. bathroom was old and needs refurbishment, shower pressure is rubbish, water drains very slowly and bath has all gone rusty. our first room was right next to the second room and overlooked some car park but then right next to it is a factory and then behind that some excavation work is taking place, the 1st night all was quiet as it was Easter but the second night from 3.30am lorries with there reversing noises where going on and that night the factory noise went on till almost 10pm. this is not the hotels fault- but if booking a room I would ask for a different location for room. breakfast was beautiful, everything u would want, all presented lovely and u could have omlette made to order. we used the resturant the 1st night, the food was very nice but very expensive- but we later found out this is how Germany is. Husband used the gym- mini gym as they call it and it is mini but it kept him happy for an hour. pool is a added bonus but pictures make it look bigger than it is, Sadly it was far too cold for me to get in and the steam/sauna are only turned on at certain times and we missed the time slot but they both looked good sizes. all the staff we came across, from reception, to restaurant and breakfast staff and especially the cleaners were lovely, very polite and helpful if u have any questions or requests. we would stay here again if it was the original price for the larger bed and if we had a different room location.

When you walk up to the Holiday Inn Munich-South you can see straight away: This is an older hotel. This first impression is a common thread throughout your stay.
Basically, that's not a bad thing. After all, older hotels can be well-maintained. By and large, that's the case with this hotel too. But not everywhere.
Examples: The underground car park, a lift and the sauna are "out of order", and in one of the toilets in the not-so-fresh sanitary facilities next to the cold mini-swimming pool a spider and web are waiting for their prey.
Otherwise everything is well maintained, clean and partly renovated.
Breakfast is taken in a restaurant that has since become a little out of date. This is also why the presentation of the otherwise good breakfast is a little unfortunate.
What I really have to criticize about this hotel is the unmotivated and sometimes untrained staff. With a few very few exceptions, you will encounter employees who tell you non-verbally that they somehow don't care whether the guest is satisfied or not.
This hotel is OK for a few days. It would be much better if the management would use the money to train and motivate the staff.

The hotel itself is pretty good, the rooms are clean, comfortable and modern. I was slightly disappointed that at over €200 per night you don’t even get a bottle of water in the room though.
Staff were all friendly and helpful and the food in the hotel was fine as well.
The biggest draw back for this hotel is the location, about 15-20 minutes from the centre of the city and about 45 minutes from the airport which proved very expensive for taxis.
Not a bad hotel, but certainly would be a last resort if nothing else was available closer to the centre/airport.

We were trapped in Munich after 1 ft of snow fell in 24 hours. Flight cancelled & good old easyJet told us you have to book your own hotel for night 2. Looked on IHG site & this hotel was only one free but was miles away. After 5 hours queuing & travelling we arrived at this oasis. Alfonso checked us in. He was great. We had booked breakfast then found out our flight next morning meant we needed to leave at 5 am. He gave us a couple of drink vouchers to compensate. Best beer I have had for a long time after day we had. We had dinner. Club sandwich & steak sandwich with chips. Gorgeous. The blond haired waitress who served us was lovely. Good atmosphere in the dining area. Room was great. Very clean & bed super comfy. We slept like logs until 5am alarm. We made our flight thank goodness. We loved Munich but 2 days of hell due to the weather. We thank this hotel for making us so welcome & this was a positive memory in the nightmare 2 days getting home.

Lack of space for breakfast end. If you cannot take breakfast due to lack of space, money will not be refunded. Had this complained at the reception, we were told that they are contacting us for reimbursement. Just nobody came forward. And there are also no parking spaces you have to find parking on the street. Therefore not recommended. And if you call to sort it out, you're told they'll never see the money again.

Perfect price line ratio. The U3 is a 5 minute walk away and takes you anywhere within 20 minutes! This is really great! The rooms are spacious and have a balcony! How great is that the request. There is also a garden and a bar with an outdoor terrace. Good budget hotel!

I stayed on August 16th for one night alone or accompanied my friend there because he was returning by bicycle from Munich to Lodi. I really enjoyed myself and my friends, staff rated 10, clean rated 10. Very kind staff, the manager is very kind. I recommend it to everybody.

Affordable price, and services that amaze when compared to the cost of the overnight stay. But the welcome is the staff, in particular Laila who welcomed us and treated us as if we were VIPs, I assure you that she has this attitude with every customer I have seen her interact with. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy rooms. Optimal . Advise

No experience with the hotel per-se. Hotel representative emailed me informing the hotel will be closed and offering an alternative stay in another of their hotels. I immediately replied stating that i did not want to take their offer and wanted a full refund or a credit note. Complete silence after this.

We were on the ground floor, which you could access by going down 5 steps or via a lift. The hotel is old & tired looking, the hall to get to our room was a very long hall, like a dormitory. There was free open Wi-Fi, the bed had a small quilt and small pillow but was comfortable enough with a kettle, no safe and average bathroom.

Dear "lesapp",
it is no problem to organise a taxi to or from the airport.
Due to a rise in prices the cost for a regular Taxi is at 75.00€ and for a Minivan-Taxi at 85.00€.
Have a save trip and to Munich and enjoy the fascinating capital of Bavaria
