Hilton Munich City garners appreciation from guests for its prime location near the S-Bahn and Marienplatz, despite an immediate area that some find unexciting. The accommodations are commonly described as clean and comfortable, although there are occasional remarks about maintenance and the compact size of rooms. Service at the hotel receives accolades for the staff's friendliness and professionalism, yet there's a sense that certain aspects could be enhanced.
While the atmosphere is generally considered pleasant, some guests have called out the Executive Lounge for being overly busy. Opinions on value are mixed, with some guests feeling the extras are pricey.

Decent Hilton in a good location, 20 minutes walk to the center or the Werksviertel, direct access from the house to the subway, parking in the underground car park 33 EUR. Room facing the quiet inner courtyard, unfortunately in room 4045 a disturbing scratching noise day and night. The quality of the breakfast, which used to be excellent, has deteriorated a little.

This review is from our stay in June 2022 and will reflect also our stay in June 2019. Despite the time difference and a pandemic, this hotel remains one of the best I’ve stayed in Europe. The staff are outstanding and the accommodations are comfortable and beautiful. The Executive Lounge is small, but offers a nice assortment for breakfast and afternoon drinks and snacks. Nice view also from the lounge! The hotel bar is a must for drinks and food. This last trip we met friends, who live in the area, at the Juliet Rose because we were flying home early the next morning. We had wonderful service and a nice evening.
There is a S-Bahn station connected which makes this hotel so easy to access to city of Munich! The area around the hotel has restaurants and shops. It is not in the heart of Munich tourist area, but I liked having some distance. It was quiet.
Again, the staff were excellent. The concierge even recommended his colleague at the Waldorf Astoria in Berlin to ask for when we went to Berlin in between stays in Munich. Overall, five star service.

Typical Hilton amenities is what you'll find here. The rooms were a bit small, but very nice. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms had the largest shower/bath of any of the rooms we stayed in on this trip. There is a restaurant downstairs but it is fairly upscale, and the bar looked very nice but we didn't stop for a drink. There is an executive level with free breakfast for those who qualify for that. The parking garage is connected to the hotel, so we were able to walk to our vehicle during the rain showers without getting wet. It's not extremely close to the Altstadt, but had it been less rainy, it would have been a nice stroll across the river, taking about 15 minutes.

There were plus and minus for this hotel. It is adjoined to Rosenheimer Platz station (S8) which you can get direct from the airport, 10 stops, this was great on arrival, but the trains don't run to the airport from that station on a Sunday, we had to walk to Munich East station which was a 20 min walk with cases. On checking in, we had two rooms booked and one was ready which was great, they take €150 deposit for each room on your credit card. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel, there are plenty of good choices in Marienplatz which is a good 20 min walk from the hotel. There is a fridge in the room which is empty, but you can fill it from the self service shop adjacent to reception which had a good selection of drinks and snacks, but pricey, we bought some items to take up. When we entered our 2nd room with the card we were given, which we had booked for our son who was arriving later, there was a couple in it, I don't know who was more shocked! We went back to reception to explain and were given a card to another room with apologies, on entering it there was a male member of staff in it, dusting? He wasn't dressed like a cleaner, he was wearing a suit, anyway he looked as startled as us and left, the room had a terrible bad drain smell, then when we closed the door we heard a noise, we reopened the door, the cover for door spring has fallen off! we had to return to reception for the second time and ask for yet another room which they gave us without any fuss, this one was fine. The rooms were spotless but the fan in our bathroom stayed on constantly, we reported this to reception and they said it would be fixed...it never was. We had drinks at the outside terrace, 2 beers and a prosecco, I had to remind them about the prosecco, when they brought it, the measure was short (the glasses all show the measurements) and it was completely flat, not a bubble, I'm sure it was the remainder of an opened bottle, they did replace it and gave a bigger measure. The hotel and rooms are fine but I wouldn't stay here again, the attraction was being adjacent to the train station but I didn't know it's no good on a Sunday, also we had gorgeous weather so the walk back and forth was fine but it would have been miserable in the rain, a bit too far out but I believe you could get the subway into the centre. Last thing, the doors do not lock, they have been disabled, but once closed cannot be opened from the outside without a card , we kept our additional bolt on whenever in the room .

Dear Guest, Your detailed feedback is incredibly valuable to us and we are grateful for the time you took to share it. It is pleasing to hear that you found our hotel's location convenient regarding the proximity to Rosenheimer Platz station. We understand that the unexpected Sunday construction service of the trains added a bit of inconvenience to your journey and we express our sympathies for the inconvenience you experienced. We are glad to know that the process of room booking was smooth and efficient at first, and we're sorry to hear about the mix-ups that occurred with your second room. We strive to provide our guests with an exceptional experience, and it seems we fell short in this instance. It's unfortunate that there were also issues with the fan and a beverage order. We take such matters very seriously and will work on improving these aspects of our service. As for the doors, rest assured that your safety is our utmost priority and our door locks are designed to provide maximum security. We regret to hear that you wouldn't choose to stay with us again. However, should you reconsider, we would be more than happy to welcome you back in the hope of providing a better experience. Yours sincerely, Regina Ali Guest Relations Manager

Just retuned from a 4 x Night City Break. Fantastic modern, clean, comfortable Hotel, Ideal location for access to & from the airport, jump on a S-Bahn Train S8 which takes you straight to the station under the hotel, also within comfortable walking distance of the Old Town or alternatively 2 stops on the S-Bahn takes you to the heart of Marienplatz. The rooms are large and clean, serviced each day of our stay. Our room was facing the courtyard, so it was pleasantly quiet. As a Diamond member, I was upgraded to a better room & had access to the Executive Lounge, we enjoyed the self serve beer & wine offered during Happy Hour between 5-7pm, limited choice of canapes, but not a major concern for us, however I wouldn't recommend Exec Lounge for Breakfast much more choice in the main restaurant. We didn't use the Hotel Restaurant at night, preferring to explore the city & all it had to offer in terms of local bars & restaurants. Staff were extremely friendly & polite across all areas of the hotel, especially those we encountered in the Exec Lounge & the Chef's at Breakfast. If ever in Munich, we would definitely return.

When we checked in, we were taken care of by Yuri. Yuri was very helpful by accommodating our request for a quiet room and checked us in. He was explaining the amenities and mentioned that breakfast started at 6:30a. When I said, we had to leave at 6, he said he could order a breakfast box that we could take. Sure enough, when we checked out at 5:45a, the breakfast boxes were waiting for us. The rest of the staff we encountered were also very helpful. The Afghan gentleman at the Honors also deserves special mention for his helpfulness. Sorry I forgot his name.
The executive lounge was on the top floor with a balcony. Most hiltons have eliminated the lounge. So it was nice to see this property have one. Vishwajeet at the lounge was very prompt in bringing you drinks or water and keeping the place spotless.
The hotel is located walking distance from all the main attractions but inside it is quiet and peaceful. There is a supermarket, restaurants and other stores close to the property. We walked to the city center and enjoyed some street performances and shopping.
Kudos to the staff and management of this property for making this one of the best experiences for us.

Death in three acts, This is how we describe our stays at the Hilton Munich City this year (July, August, December).
Let's focus on the December stay. The shortcomings were identical for all three stays and were mentioned at check-out.
The hotel has a top location in Munich and has been renovated in recent years. Staff in the Executive Lounge also deserve praise. The same applies to check-out and room cleaning. Unfortunately, this is already the end of the positive.
The not too large Executive Lounge reflects the atmosphere of a station hall due to the countless upgrades. This affects the volume and the audience. Customers paying for lounge access have different expectations here. These are tranquility and a well-kept atmosphere. They are not favorable family reunions, fast free alcohol consumption and loud conversations in the environment.
However, this is still topped by breakfast. Even if this hotel service is outsourced. Failures fall back on the hotel. Untrained staff (dishes are picked off over the guest's shoulder, final covering, cleaning and setting without gloves and other disinfection etc.), questionable behaviour in table allocation (let's see if there is anything left, etc.) and a breakfast that does not meet expectations for this hotel category in quality and quantity. All other Hiltons in Central Europe can do that better. Even if we are talking about an American chain and the audience is strongly American. We are here in Central Europe and have more extensive demands for breakfast. Even the separate area for Diamond members saves nothing.
The check-in is also to be questioned. Impersonal is ok. But he should be friendly. Stress is not an excuse.
It's a shame, but it'll take time before the house gets another chance with us.
I'm also thinking of the guests who may be treating themselves to a Hilton for the first time. For many it will have been the last time.
The three stars are awarded for the location, executive lounge staff and check-out.

Convenient hotel with an excellent value for diamond members! 30 minute train from to airport to the hotel. We arrived from the States at 9 am and, as diamond members, were given access to the 5th floor lounge where drinks, breakfast, snacks, and a happy hour are available in a beautiful, modern space. The guest rooms contain modern conveniences that matter to me: adjustable reading lights, USB ports, coffee, tea, and espresso in room, a comfortable bed, and reliable AC. Diamond members also receive a relatively large speciality nuts /spice mix as a welcome gift. Diamond members can opt for the full breakfast buffet at the restaurant, Moma, for no extra charge. The restaurant, is large, stylish, and well staffed. We did not go to the trendy onsite bar but it was busy and looked fun!
Everyone at the hotel is friendly, efficient, and professional. Exceeded my expectations.
The same underground transportation that transported us from the airport also connected us to the Marienplatz (2 stops away). We walked (about 15 minutes) some of the time and other times hopped on the rail. I think 5 lines went directly to the Marienplatz from our stop. The Central Rail station that connects Munich to the rest of Europe is 4 stops away.
Overall, we hung out at the hotel way more than we expected because it was that enjoyable.
Tip: Subway trains to the Central Rain station may not run on the expected platform during the early morning hours. We were expecting to leave from platform 2 but trains only arrived and left from platform 1 early on a Sunday morning.

This hotel was a surprisingly good find with a great vibe and very reasonably priced! Location is absolutely perfect you have shops restaurants right in front of the hotel and lovely hotel bar. You can also access the Sbahn from level -1 in the hotel and reach Marienplatz within a few mins of leaving your room. We stayed in the Sofitel Bayerpost the following day which is next to Munich Hbf and it was nowhere near as convenient because you had to walk through a crowded massive station and wished we had booked the Hilton for the next night as well. Otherwise the Hotel is modern throughout room/bathroom was fresh and not dated with AC and comfortable beds most importantly you get a king bed rather than two beds pushed together which we found to be common in some other places. Staff friendly and efficient. Parking expensive but not unusually so. You do have street parking option along the road and slightly cheaper option to park in the building opposite but we parked in the Hilton anyway for sake of convenience. Will look forward to returning on our next trip to Munich!

The Hilton Munich City's location combines central concenience with proximity to neighbourhoods of a more local vibe.
Even though emails in advance remained unanswered, welcome was friendly.
The room was sufficient in size, nicely-decorated and clean, whereas water pressure in the shower was far too weak. The bed was comfortable, but our TV did not work at all, and could not be fixed during night time.
The atmosphere at the club lounge with a balcony offering a nice view of the city was pleasant, yet its culinary offer was extremely limited, especially during cocktail hour.
Breakfast was - quite frankly - a desaster with very limited product selection of mediocre quality, the team being terribly understaffed, the buffet completely crowded, and a striking shortage of coffee stations.
Overall, despite a couple of strong aspects, such as the very friendly and effective housekeeping, the stay left a mixed impression.

I don’t believe it has a laundry room, But it does offer same day laundry services if you have your laundry picked up before 9 AM. I believe laundry rooms are more commonly found in the Hilton Garden, Doubletrees, and Hampton Inns, but not so much in the brand name Hiltons.
There are more places to choose from in the Munich area.
