Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked a room as part of a continuing education due to the proximity to the location (hence the positive review of the location). Nearby are very nice cafes and restaurants, to the Isar it is not far.
The rooms are simple and okay, but much darker than in the photos. Kettle in each room would be desirable.
Unfortunately, the rooms are very noisy - you get the elevator and roommates. If you want a quiet night, this is rather wrong.

Great location, just opposite the subway.
The service leaves something to be desired, rooms without air conditioning and breakfast price off Point of Sale (19 euros per person).
Comfortable momto beds.
Noisy fan in the room and tablecloth change only on request.

The highlight of the property is the location; located in a quiet residential area and a short walk from the metro that leads with only two stops to the historic center of München. Common spaces, of the building in the back, a little dilapidated and very gloomy. Room small but with the essentials; would need more attention to detail. Despite the stay in the middle of summer, considering the Bavarian climate, we did not miss the air conditioning, but it would have been convenient to have a mini-bar in the room. Excellent service available for luggage storage. Overall good value for money.

UNFORTUNATELY after having stayed for three nights in this hotel the review can only be negative.
Despite the numerous requests for cleaning and towel changes normally expected in any hotel, we left without anyone ever accepting our requests.
The rooms assigned to us located in the rear building were reachable with considerable difficulty given the very poor lighting.

The not-so-cheap rooftop studio with balcony had not been cleaned when we moved in. There was dust everywhere, including a dirty kitchen, dirt and hair on the bed frame, etc.! The sofa was worn through, the carpet underneath was dirty. Overall, everything was very shabby. Instead of a proper renovation, everything was just painted over. The external room service was terrible and we had to go to reception 4 times to get it cleaned/towels changed. The reception staff were nice but not assertive... they wanted to pass everything on to the hotel management and we should please write them an email... hello, where am I!!!??? We had booked a 2-week stay and it was not at a bargain price, the service in return was absolutely disappointing and really got on our nerves. The management should rethink their concept in general... be more present and take a critical look at the condition of the rooms. It's just a shame...

We stayed here for 3 nights in July and found it to be a poor choice. The hotel is described as “cosy, yet extraordinary” however we found it to be neither. I would describe it as clean and partly functional, and worthy of 2 stars at a push. And the only extraordinary thing about it is the lack of air conditioning in what appears to be a relatively new build block. This makes for an unpleasant nights sleep. Leaving the balcony door open all night and having a Bold Hotels fan on full speed all night is as good as it gets here I’m afraid. The overnight temp was about 15 when we were there, so can only imagine how awful it would be later in the summer. From memory I think they said it has 85 rooms, in which case they need to place a large order for 85 portable air conditioning as soon as is possible. At around 300€ each for good ones, this should be no problem for the Bold chain.

This hotel tricked it’s way onto our short list of Munich hotels, partly by claiming it had a 24/7 bar. On arrival we discovered this to be untrue. The bar was closed throughout our stay, with no sensible explanation given by the sole member of staff on the desk/bar/breakfast area as to why this was. Very disappointing and I feel I paid for something that I did not receive.

The few staff we encountered appeared to be agency staff, with several of them telling me they had not seen a manager in the hotel in 2 weeks. Certainly I can confirm there was none present in the 3 days we were there. That’s one way of avoiding dealing with any complaints I guess… though actually there is something a bit unnerving about spending 3 days in a so-called hotel without any indication of anyone actually being in charge or in a position to address concerns. The response I got from reception staff when I expressed my disappointment with the bar situation is best described as the German equivalent of a Gallic shrug (if there is such a thing?).

The room is private with a private bathroom, but other than that it felt like a hostel to me. Nothing wrong with hostels of course, and I stayed in many over the years, but that is not what I expected nor paid for here.

We would not stay here again.

We were in Munich for Fruhlingfest. This hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the festival action and is about 10 feet from a U-bahn station so ideally located for our purposes. The room was completely adequate to our needs. Clean and comfortable with a balcony. We did not partake of the on-site breakfast so have no comment on that. Also, we can recommend the Lindwurmstuberl for a good German meal and beer, located two blocks from the hotel.

Great smaller hotel south of Munich Center. It is right next to a metro stop. From the airport just transfer from the S bahn to the U bahn. Once you get off of the U bahn metro take a left when leaving the station and you are at the hotel. Hotel was clean. Just be aware that there is no air conditioning & it got stuffy in the rooms. They did provide a fan in the room which helped. Enjoyed the hotel & staff was friendly.

Very convenient location, the metro is practically under the hotel. Cleanliness and silence in the room. Beautiful and original Hall, it seems to be in a bar. Exaggerated water prices, 5€ a bottle is high even for Monaco, especially considering that the shop opposite sells them for 2€. The way around to get to the room is a bit unclear, very small lift.

We wanted a ‘boutique’ experience! All walls painted black! Mould on the wall. No toiletries except hand soap in the shower. Rooms VERY basic.
Breakfast was good although the dining area (long and thin) made us feel like sparrows in a row! Staff friendly. But that was about it!!

Cost effective way to travel is by the metro, which is called the u-bahn/s-bahn. This hotel is very close to city centre - just 2-3 stops.
