Accommodation was warm, spacious and comfortable. Fairly basic but good for the price. Fantastic view of the castles from the hotel, and close enough to to walk, or take a bus or horse and cart to the castle. The restaurant is basic.

We stayed at Hotel Mueller with our kids, age 2.5 and 9 months. Overall, our stay was wonderful, and we are usually pretty picky about hotels. LOCATION. You absolutely cannot beat the location right at the foot of the hill that takes you up to Neuschwanstein. With 2 small kids to lug around, this makes all the difference! We arrived...

The hotel's people and location made the single night stop exceptional. The front desk (Ana) made dining and sightseeing recommendations that helped us prioritize and enjoy our stay. We appreciated how the hotel has been maintained. We stayed in the older part of the hotel and the subtle paint details were delightful from the grey/red/white detailed painting on the façade...

We stopped here for a late lunch in the offseason while waiting for our castle tour time. The service was very quick, likely able to handle the summer crowds with ease, but not all that friendly. It was a very transactional experience. The food was, as any tourist trap would be, both overly expensive and not memorable. Standard German fare,...

We were just visiting the castle so stopped here to recharge batteries and have a wee bite to it. Food was good service prompt. I'm afraid we cant say anything about the hotel tho. Have to mention that 3.50 euro for a 0.5l weis beer in such a busy touristy spot is a bargain!

We loved our stay at Hotel Mueller. Anna, the desk manager went the extra mile to ensure all our needs were met and arranged to pick up tickets for castle tours. Hotel is in perfect location, has a charming courtyard cafe and the surroundings are beautiful.

No complaints about Hotel Mueller. It is as convenient as could be to the castle and it is exactly what you would imagine from a weekend in Bavaria. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms are comfortable. Recommend.

This hotel was a great location to stay for visiting 2 of Ludwig's Castles. His childhood summer home is directly behind the hotel, only a short walk up the hill. The Receptionist asked us immediately upon check-in if we needed tickets for the Castles, and had them waiting for us the next morning. She even gave us advice on what...

Nueschwanstein Castle and the Mueller Hotel are two very special places. Two places everyone should visit. I stayer at the Mueller Hotel 30 years ago and it was special then and even better now. It was smaller then and has been added on to. Years ago I was with a Volkswagen group so you know they knew where to stay...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Muller lies at the end of the “Romantic Road” through Germany, right beneath Hohenschwangau Castle, the childhood and youth residence of King Ludwig II, his “poetic retreat”. It makes the ideal base for day trips to the surrounding area. One possible excursion is the “Castle Tour”: Linderhof – Herrenchiemsee – Nymphenburg. Or you could get to know the Pfaffenwinkel, which literally means “priests’ corner”, with its ancient testimonies to church architecture, such as St. Coloman, the Pilgrimage Church of Wies, Ettal Abbey, the pilgrimage churches of Andechs, Rottenbuch, and Altenstadt, and many more. Or visit the idyllic nearby villages: Fussen, with its historical old town; Oberammergau, famous for its passion play, or the world-famous winter sports villages of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Oberstdorf, etc. ... more   less
