It gives me great pleasure to finally review the TURKEN.... I counted myself lucky to have been a friend of the late Gnadige Frau Ingrid Scharfenberg... we would spend many hours discussing people like Otto Gunsche and Sepp Dietrich... I was also honoured to help her issue tickets for the Tunnels and talk to visitors of those historic times.... I...

This hotel was one of the highlights of my trip to Europe. Not only is it a historic hotel, but it is run by the kind owner who makes her guests feel so welcome. My room was clean and comfortable. There are also cozy and homey public rooms. There is no restaurant, but there is a self-service area for drinks...

This hotel was returned to the family after German occupation when it was used as a regional headquarters for the SS. There are tunnels underneath the building that were used during WW II. I got to tour them when I was there, but that was twenty years ago. I'm not sure if they are still open.

Stayed here and feel what happened in the year 1943-1945. Great experience. I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death.

I and my family have stayed many times at the Hotel zum Turken. We all consider it a special place to stay when travelling in Germany. From your balcony and the hotel terrace you will have amazing views of Berchtesgaden and the mountains. Upon entering the hotel you will be stepping back in time. The whole hotel is tastefully decorated...

This hotel is loaded with history and the innkeeper Monica is more than accommodating. Reservations must be made in advance and she encourages stays of at least two overnights. A 24-hour self service bar provides the perfect setting to relax, read about the area, or go over the day with your travel companions. The hotel is of construction typical in...

Stayed at the Turken and also explored the bunkers. I would recommend the hotel to everyone. It's an incredible hotel with an amazing history / atmosphere. There are no TVs in the rooms and there is no wifi but I feel that's part of the charm. Family run by an incredibly nice woman, I feel that I will definitely return...

Hotel Zum Turken is a living relic of WW 2. It managed to survive the Allied air raid of 25 April 1945 just enough to be rehabilitated by Therese Partner, whose maiden name was Schuster, a descendant of it's former owner, Karl Schuster, who was coerced into selling the hotel by Martin Bormann, a powerful Nazi party leader and Hitler's...

We stayed at the hotel while visiting Berchtesgaden. We weren't disappointed. Monica was very welcoming and gave us lots of information. We had to make sure we locked the door to the hotel whether leaving or return on because some people think it's a museum. Inside is kept spotless as were the rooms. We particularly liked the TV room and...

This hotel is stuck in a time warp. Which is great if you are looking for history, & that is what we were looking for. The hotel is in the heart of the Obersalzburg area were Hitler set up his country home the Berghof. So if you are exploring these areas this is the place to stay. The hotel is...
