Friendly staff and warm welcome. Large comfortable room in prime location at very reasonable cost. Had problem related to Lufthansa strike and staff were very helpful even though not their problem. No problem in recommending it.

We appreciated the convenient location, right in the old town/university district. We were just a short walk from the funicular to Heidelberg Castle as well. Staff was helpful, and although we had to pay for parking, we were glad to have it. Since it was unseasonably hot in September, we needed to keep the windows open. We appreciated the fan.... More

We checked into this hotel, and we were told that the hotel had a "contract" with a parking garage in the neighbourhood at 9 Euros per day. This sounds good, however the garage was full!( Should they not have some reserved spots?) The receptionist was very friendly and professional. He worked in a cubbyhole under a staircase, and this cramped... More

Location is great and it has a lift. Rooms very Spartan but very clean and had a bathtub. NO WIFI AS ADVERTISED IN ALL MATERIAL. Some of The staff is a piece of work. Thomas who checked us in was very nice and helpful. After that the two women we interacted with were not so much. First women literally shut... More

We had two second floor rooms, one on the street and one on the courtyard. Both had nice views. Check-in was without incident although parking was confusing since we couldn't really drive to the hotel. Much of Heidelberg's old town is traffic restricted in a way that I couldn't figure out. There were a few cars on the small streets,... More

Our trip is winding down and we rented a car to drive from Munich back to Paris with a stop over in Heidelberg (car rental was about $350 for the 3 days but it would have been more for the 4 of us to take a train so it evened out). the drive from Munich to Heidelberg was not bad... More

The best thing is the location in the middle of the city center. If you don't expect any luxury and are fine with the basics, like a shower, a bed with a decent mattress and some basic breakfast, than this will be a perfect hotel. The wifi is not working well in the room, its an what older location and... More

To start with, the lady at reception is disagreeable and will not help you get a good image of the place. The rooms are basic, no decoration at all and wifi does not work in the rooms so you need to go downstairs, and stay in the breakfast room if you want a seat or work on the internet, as... More

Simply put, it was fine. Older property, it is the 'old town' of course. Clean room, three single beds, a bathroom, and two windows to the street. Third floor room, elevator access. Noise echoes between the buildings on the street, but it was not bothersome. Breakfast buffet covers the essentials and a nice pot of coffee or tea is brought... More

The advantages of this hotel are its location, price, and staff. The disadvantages are its rooms, which are small, old, and sparse. I should confess that I arrived late and stayed in what has to be the worst room in the hotel. It was on the second floor and the hotel's lighted signage lit up my room. The floor was... More
