Whilst attending the KSK symposium we staid in on his little town and tried out the hotel Kloster Hirsau. What a great place with some traditional elements. Food was excellent, served in a homely environment with fresh ingredients and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely one to recommend.

Stayed here for an overnight trip on our way down to Austria. Easy to find in the small hamlet, and setting was very nice. Hotel quite large, but is in the middle of a town with nothing in, we took a stroll around and could see nothing open it was a very sleepy village but nice scenery. Check in swift...

Stayed here for 3 nights with friends. The hotel is located in Hirsau, a village a few miles outside Calw. Unfortunately, the hotel is located on a traffic island, so the rooms do suffer from road noise. A problem if you are a light sleeper. The staff are very friendly and most speak English. The waitresses wear traditional dresses, which...

Do not be put off by your possible initial thoughts on arrival. This is a typical family owned German hotel. My wife and I stayed 3 nights and had a pretty good time overall. There are some good points and some not so good points. Let me start with the good points. The food in the restaurant is very nice....

I stayed at this hotel now for the third time, 6 years ago, 4 years ago and now. We have a family event there every 2 years, with 60+ people of which maybe 20 stay at the hotel. The first instance started with the reservation when the staff PP, the same as in previous years, tried to charge me an...

Stayed here for a night. Classical hotel. Located in the back forest area in a small town. Thankfully they cater to English. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Dinner was great, breakfast was good. Got the impression it was a family run hotel. Rooms were just OK though, I stayed in a double room, which seemed a little small for...

It is a hotel with a very long tradtition situated in the beginnings of the black forest. The hotel is has not a luxury standard but the rooms are clean and ok. Staff is really friendly and the dinner was very good - not typical German: smaller portions but of fine quality. There is a rather big swimming-pool and a...

My wife and I spent a night at this hotel last week. The room was clean, comfortable & large. The shower room was wide and the water current was very strong (very important to me), but the towels thin and a bit small (nothing dramatic). We had a very good dinner there and breakfast the next day. Both were excellent....

no air conditioning, poor service, owner of Hotel very unfriendly and ignorant, she was overworked, maybe couldn't afford more staff but did let guest feel it that she is overworked, barely answered and when then snippy and arrogant, front desk often empty. Food was good the first evening, watered down the second day. Breakfast was good but only from 08:00...
