For American tourists, this hotel is a good choice. The staff speaks English, is friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean, well appointed, comfortable and located in a village just south of Baden-Baden. A great jumping off point to visit the Black Forest which is just south of this hotel. The hotel's breakfast buffet was excellent and the service was...

We chose Gasthaus Auerhahn after being forced to leave our previous--and wonderful--hotel because we had not made reservations and it will fully booked after our first night. Expecting a considerable step down we were instead highly pleased. Our room was decent sized and nicely furnished. Mattresses and linens were very comfortable. The bath was also of decent size. For whatever...

We found this delightful family run Gasthaus purely by chance whilst on a road trip from London-Munich. It is located in an idyllic setting and the staff couldnt of been more helpful. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant of traditional German food which hit the spot after a long drive. Our room was spacious with gorgeous views of...

This was our lucky find of the holiday, 2 weeks in Europe and Gasthaus Auerhahn was by far the best place we stayed. Great welcome from the start, very helpful and friendly folks. The room was spotless, spacious and well appointed. We ate in the restaurant, lovely food, well prepared and presented. We would stay there again, when revisiting the...

The Auerhahn is less than 10 minutes drive from the centre of Baden-Baden, yet it feels very rural. From the hotel door, it is just a few minutes walk to join the Panoramaweg, a famous hiking route around Baden-Baden. From the hotel it is possible to take a beautiful hike along the river to the Geroldsauer Waterfall. A little further...

Really charming hotel, friendly staff and the four poster bed was gorgeous. The dinner was really great. German cooking but very special. Incredible homemade schmalz also. After an amazing dinner the breakfast was a little disappointing. Not bad but just not up to the standards of dinner. Also the wifi connection didn't reach our room

On the way to other parts of Germany, Baden-Baden was a half way stop. Staying outside the city made a short stop over simpler and faster. After spending hours searching reasonably priced TRADITIONAL guest houses, Auerhahn popped on the screen. It suited price+decor and was impeccably maintained. With a truly lovely dining room, with softer touches of Bavaria, and an...
