The hotel was listed as three star but for us it was a five star experience. Yes, the rooms are a bit dated but they fulfilled our every need - comfortable beds, cosy and warm, lovely bathroom with lovely towels and a hairdryer and toiletries, l'Occitane soap, a box of tissues and a spare box too. We understand there are plans to modernise the rooms but we would say, don't do it too much as we loved the character of them. So many hotels these days are all the same and it is nice to have the individuality. The star of the show (well one of them) was the owners/staff who could not have been kinder and more helpful and generally out to make sure all our needs were satisfied. The second star was the food! Every night we dined on the most amazing food and the cheese board was superb. The wine list was brilliant and we drank well for the week. As skiers we didn't want too much as we wanted to be out early and so our bottle was held over night for our next night's dinner - a great arrangement that more places should observe as it meant that we drank really nice wines instead of just glasses of the house wine.
Breakfasts were brilliant with something for everyone. Breads/croissants were top class.
There is a lovely spa area with sauna, steam and jacuzzi in the basement, perfect after a day on the slopes, and the ski room was lovely and roomy with each room having their own lockable ski locker.
In the evening, there is a lovely welcoming bar - super cocktails and nibbles if you wish. We also had great entertainment on several of the nights.
The location was terrific, being a couple of minutes from the lifts and right off the main street as well. We loved every minute of our time here and couldn't find fault at all. Thank you to the owners and all the staff.

The Savoyarde is a rare thing in Val d’isere. A family run hotel that has refused to yield to the fashion for a prime location building in this world class mountain resort; it hasn’t decided to go Uber luxury and maximise the income it can charge. It has purposely remained as a three star hotel, offering everything you could ever want and need all provided with a family owned service and charm that never ceases to delight. It has all the facilities required such as a great bar and wonderful apres-ski, The Jacuzzi and sauna floor adjacent to the well located boot room allows effortless skiing whether staying alone or as a family. It’s location punches way above its price point and the food is just what is required. There are far more designer and trendy and more luxurious hotels available but this decades old hotel gives great room sizes - everything you need at the sweet spot of price and value and worth. A very difficult place to find. I have stayed at the very most expense hotels in Val and there is not a thing you need that isn’t here too and it’s good to be staying with fellow travellers who one feels could stay where ever they wanted yet choose to stay here.

Cozy and lively mountain atmosphere.. La Savoyarde is a great chalet style hotel reminiscent of the golden age of Val D’Isère. You are welcomed by a beautiful and playful Colie at the door who mirrors the friendliness of the staff within who greet you with a smile.. the rooms are chalet style wood paneling and very cozy and warm.. the sheets and amenities are clean.. best place is the bar which had a live musical performance in the weekend evenings that bring you back to the timeless Alps and resorts of the region..

Cosy, family run hotel with friendly staff wherever you go. Close to the town centre, ski rental and the slopes. Plenty of space in the boot locker room. Rooms are small and would benefit from hooks and shelf space, but clean and with comfortable beds. We had two rooms on separate floors (known in advance), one room had a shower that was quite unreliable with hot/cold water, the other had no such problem. Didn’t have dinner there, but breakfast was perfectly fine. The bar area is really cosy with its open log fire, friendly staff and a good range of drinks and nibbles. Spacious, good atmosphere and often with pianist/live entertainment. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would be happy to return

The hotel is well located and has an excellent lounge and dining room. The ski lockers have boot heaters but the doors need maintenance. Room 405 is cold, dark and dingy. Other rooms that I have used on previous stays are better.

Dear Thomas, We thank you for sharing this review about your recent stay with us. We are glad to read that you appreciate our location in the center and very close to the slopes and we thank you also for your compliments regarding our lounge bar and restaurant. However, we are sorry to hear that the room 405 did not suit your expectation. Don't hesitate for your next stay to ask at the reception desk for another room. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again. Best regards, Leïla - La Réception

The hotel is charming with a perfect location, lounge area and bar are fantastic, the small spa saved our legs although there is no pool or fitness area as described in some places. The restaurant is adequate but there are great restaurants in short walking distance. Sadly we were not given the room that was advertised and we paid for which lets down the hotel and as such I feel a little ripped off. On some nights we were paying 600 + euros a night for a small room, with a two single mattress configuration plus a single on a mezzanine that had to be crawled into. There was no small lounge area as promised or separate bed in its own cove. Be very careful if and when you book. If you have a bad back you may want to choose a newer hotel with decent mattresses, mine was literally sinking. We had one night in L’Avanche which is slightly off Centre but delivers everything that the Savoyarde promised. I would go back for the location but would want a guarantee of the room that I was booking at an appropriate rate. Staff were friendly. Hotel offers discounts at local rental service. They are friendly and helpful. If you want something of better quality I recommend you look around although avoid skimium. Very rude!

I stayed here with my son. It is a proper ski resort hotel. Warm, cosy and welcoming.
The staff are lovely. The food is good. The rooms are comfortable.
The spa is relaxing after a day skiing - we just wished it opened earlier in the afternoon to be able to go straight from skiing to relax in the sauna.
We particularly liked the bar with its squishy sofas and enjoyed the excellent cocktails.

Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was functional and comfortable, although a bit warm at night. Breakfast was excellent although they could invest in better coffee making equipment. The ski room was very handy with your own locker, and it is a ten minute walk to the skiing area. The lounge and bar was all you wished for apres ski. not cheap, but worth it.

Hotel in a great position. Staff all excellent Breakfast very good although I did miss my tomatoes. Locker room well heated. Nice bar with adjoining lounge. Single room small but kept very clean. I assume a double room for two persons would not be much more expensive but considerably larger with a bath rather than a small shower.

There was mold in our room and the staff refused to do anything about it. We had allergic responses after staying in the room due to the mold. The carpet is very old and the whole place needs updating. The spa is a quiet only place and has an oddly low limit for how many adults can be in the hot tub. Overall this place is relying on its location to attract customers but its ownership clearly has no desire to invest in the hotel to maintain and update it.

No - we took our own travel kettle and kept the milk on the windowsill in a pompon hat to stop it freezing - also very relaxed about taking coffees from breakfast - they have an excellent coffee machine
