We stayed the night before in Fontainbleau and stopped in Sens and Auxerre enroute to Perouges. We stayed one Wednesday night the end of September and we felt we were the only ones in town. It was a little too empty and quiet and closed for us but fortunately we had booked ahead for dinner at Auberge du Coq and...

Even though the location and the atmosphere is great, after I think about it a little longer I feel disappointed. The quality of the bed and the bathroom is not up to the level of the price. I don't need luxury, but a comfortable bed and a easy to use shower and bath without sharp edges on which you can...

The Hostellerie du Pérouges is situated in the main central square of this old medieval forties township. It's a really quaint old town with cobbled streets and virtually no cars though tourists cars seem to be allowed if you can find a small corner, nook or cranny to park!! It's a lovely building - as they all are in Pérouges...

Stayed one night in the pavilion just a step away from the main hotel - scary dark room but was fun as its sooooo medieval, bathroom needs updating and floor really slippy due to polish and no mat holders - lovely staff, food ok not great, chicken with lots of bones ? why not just serve the breast, but lovely...

Chanced upon this beautiful town. Fell in love instantly. Walked right up to the hotel to ask about a room for the night. The room was perfect. The service great. Parking within the city. Asked about room service for breakfast and they were more then happy to prepare a special omelet for my husband, along of course with the usual...

I loved this village. 13th century building, fabulous antiques, wonderful experience. Well worth stopping here. Cobblestones and stairs are a bit tricky. Service was excellent. Lunch was out of this world. I will remember it fondly. Thank you.

As a French citizen I always enjoy being back home. I remembered from the 70s the "galette" in the long winter afternoons and I had the opportunity for an excellent lunch this week. I must admit: "simple" but excellent food, great wines (even an Échezeaux à la carte, which is rare...), extremely friendly staff, no time pressure. And of course...

This incredible property is in an ideal location in this beautiful village. The welcome was excellent, and we were shown to a separate part for our accommodation. This meant it was quiet at night and our windows looked out onto beautiful trees. The bird calls were amazing. Make sure you wear sturdy shoes - the 'roads' and pathways are old...

We stayed 2 nights at the Hostellerie. We had a room in "Le Manoir" - a 15th century building. The room was confortable and clean complete with old world charm and modern amenities. To get to our room we had to go up a stone staircase (really like in a castle) and then cross a reception room with beautiful period...

The finest dining experience I've had in France. US Presidents have visited and dined here - (photos are discretely located behind the receptionist) at the authentic 7th Century hotel in Perouges. Each course was exquisite. The atmosphere beyond compare. If you are in the area, it is a must visit! The entire village is constructed of cobblestone - the walks,...
