My stay at The Les Grands Montets was exceptional. The hotel is decor is in a quintessential Alpine style, which made it feel super warm and cozy. It felt more like I was coming home, instead of staying in a hotel! I was always warmly greeted by reception, and all of the staff I interacted with were extremely welcoming and kind. They were ready to help with any questions I had regarding buses to trains to walks and restaurants. They truly went above and beyond to ensure my stay was as perfect as could be.
My room was a large chalet style with a balcony facing the Mont Blanc mountain range. I took some time to make sure I enjoyed the fresh mountain air while being mesmerized by the beautiful winter wonderland views. There is ample closet space and the bathroom is large with good storage. The only downside was that my bed was a lot more firm than I am used to, but I used an extra duvet and it solved the issue decently. I did not come here to ski, but there is the Les Grands Montets ski lift/slopes right behind the hotel, so ultra convenient for those hitting the slopes. The town of Argentière is about a 10-15 min walk with some great cafes, supermarket, sports shops, and the convenient train that runs into the center of Chamonix.
Overall, I had a great experience at The Les Grands Montet and I would highly recommend this charming and hospitable hotel if you are visiting Chamonix Mont-Blanc!

Located on the outskirts of Argentière, the Pension adjoins a tourist complex including a campsite, rental chalets and a mobile home parking area. The Pension has parking but it is not secure. Persons over 6 feet tall must bow their heads when entering the Pension. This may seem like a detail but since the entrance is relatively dark even during the day, you can quickly take a blow to the head by surprise.
The reception and common areas are warm, in a rustic mountain chalet decor that is also found in the rooms.
We had booked a Superior room with Mont Blanc view and were not disappointed as we were able to enjoy the view from the room and balcony. Only downside: the heavy/stifling heat in the room during the day with the large bay window without shutters, facing south. The winter duvet and lack of air conditioning do not help. The cooler temperatures at night help to reduce the heat accumulated in the room by leaving the sliding bay window open but it is not instantaneous without a draft and the incessant ballet of windows that slide and slam in the neighboring rooms until very late at night has not helped anything. We slept badly for 4 consecutive nights when this is the first thing you should expect from an Inn regardless of its star rating.

Booked three rooms for our travelling family. Stayed 2 nights in September which was probably enough for that time of year. Front desk staff were lovely. Breakfast staff not so much. Ran out of eggs at 7.45am, one of only two warm dishes. Breakfast started at 7.30am and got short shift when enquiring if there were any available. The hotel is 15 min out from Chamonix so you need a car as there is not much nearby (though we knew that). Had a lovely German dinner 10 min walk up the road at a Bighorn Bistro.

We really do our best to replenish our buffet as soon as possible and our breakfast staff knows that we really value our clients satisfaction. During summertime we have many groups hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc and they often start breakfast at 7 am because they need to leave early. This place is a dream! The Pension is beautiful, nestled in the valley of Chamonix, with the Mont Blanc facing it. The staff is very attentive, smiling, kind. The decoration is neat. Good quality materials. The breakfast buffet is fabulous. Fruit, bread, pastries, the choice of cured meats and cheeses, only quality products filled with flavor and freshness. The hotel is very charming and sits amongst the alps in a grand setting. The restaurant serves up a grand breakfast with many choices. The bartender was super friendly and made the best limoncello spritz! The restaurant was not open for dinner when we were there so we ate at a nearby restaurant which was mediocre.

We stayed there as a couple on 08/24/23 and it was really great, the staff were very smiling and qualified. I am sure I will come back, we feel a relaxed atmosphere, the room was very clean and beautiful. There swimming pool and especially the hot tub with a view of Le M’ont Blanc are great. At breakfast there was everything you needed and throughout the day there is a basket at the bar with morning pastries where you can serve them as much as you want, which is great after a hike. I recommend it with my eyes closed Thank you again for your welcome, after doing the TMB we really appreciated it.

We are located just few meters away from the Grands Montets Cable car and are equipped with a ski locker with heating rack for each room.
Ski instructors come diretly to the Hotel to meet the guests and talk about their next escape in the mountains, or they just come to pick up the children .
