We loved our 4 night stay at the Alpina Eclectic Hotel & Spa. Upon check in, we were upgraded to a balcony room on the 6th floor. Our room was good sized with modern decor and plenty of storage. Comfy bed with soft pillows, slept like a log. There is an area for clothes and cases tucked away behind the main bedroom to keep the room tidy. Separate toilet and bathroom was a bit odd as you have to go into another room to wash your hands but it was fine and we got used to it! Bathroom comes equipped with hairdryer, hand wash, shampoo and shower gel, very nice scent. Reception are happy to provide more toiletries if needed. We used the nespresso coffee machine each morning and the housekeeping staff kept the pods replenished throughout our stay.
We really enjoyed the complementary one hour spa session per day. Robes and slippers are provided in the room. The heated ski room was fantastic too. There is a cafe onsite to grab some lunch/drinks and a bon bon sweetie bar in reception to help yourself to a treat on the way in/out of the hotel.
The hotel is in a great location with ski bus stops just outside and lots of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. Ski hire shop onsite as well. Staff are friendly and willing to help with any questions or recommendations.
We would not hesitate to stay in the Alpina next time we are in Chamonix.

Hotel side: Comfortable room, minimalist decor, breathtaking view of the Aiguille du Midi, it does the job. Restaurant side: The disaster. In buffet mode, the description is tempting. In reality it is a disaster. Bland dishes, without any taste, unseasoned based on poor quality products, in short it's not good, I rarely do it but I strongly advise against it. Please note, however, a commercial gesture from the manager. The quality/price ratio for breakfast is average. FYI: For parking, it’s €30 per night. The public car park next door will cost you €24 for 24 hours… In short, rather disappointed, the room does the job without making you dream and the restaurant should absolutely be avoided. Other establishments in Chamonix, less expensive, offer better services…

The hotel is very well located near to ski lifts and all of the shops, bars and restaurants that Chamonix has to offer. However, the room was very small for the price per night (and we did not stay in school holidays!). It has good facilities like a boot/ski room with your own locker per room, again a bit small for 2 snowboards but it was still convenient. Breakfast was simple but they did have someone making fresh crepes and omelettes which was a nice touch. The restaurant where the breakfast was served had lovely mountain views but the bar lacked atmosphere and was on the ground floor. It was more just like an extension of the hotel lobby so not somewhere you wanted to hang out after a long day on the slopes. The free spa access with a jacuzzi, steam and sauna for 1 hour a day was well managed and it meant it never felt too crowded in there. All in all a good stay but the room size was not good value for the price and difficult with all the things you need for skiing.

Dear 751noork, We thank you for taking time to share you experience about our hotel. We're delighted to hear that you appreciated our convenient location near the ski lifts and the amenities available for storing ski equipment. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the size of the room. We understand the importance of having adequate space, especially when traveling with ski equipment. This is why we offer one ski locker per room. Please note that we offer different type of room and some of them are larger. We're glad to know that you enjoyed the breakfast offerings, particularly the fresh crepes and omelettes. It's also wonderful to know that you found our spa facilities well managed and not overcrowded. Regarding the atmosphere in our bar, we appreciate your feedback. We will explore ways to enhance the ambiance to provide a more inviting space for our guests to relax and unwind after a day on the slopes. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even better experience in the future. Warm regards,

The positives: The bed was comfortable and the views amazing if you have a mountain view! From there it all goes downhill fast and you may as well be staying in a Hostel! Check in is 4pm, at which point you're told due to the hotel's desire to protect the environment they've done away with one time use plastics and you're handed a glass bottle and told to go fill it at the dispenser! Sounds good, until you get to your room and find one time use plastic cups in the bathroom and one time use paper cups by the coffee maker along with plastic utensils, and you see that the lights used are not LED's! Looking around you realize there are no amenities like shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, etc. So back to reception to ask about it? This is after all supposed to be a 4 star hotel!! At the reception you're told they have them behind the counter, all you have to do is ask for them??!! (4 star hotel??) You're handed a tray of "one time use" amenities each one plastic and told to pick the ones you want! The hotels claim to be concerned for the environment is starting to feel a little disingenuous!
We also had a real problem with the lighting in the rooms and bathroom. The bathroom lighting is terrible with the lights angled above you so the mirror is really useless because of the shadows! Whoever designed this did not have user friendly for the guest in mind! Also the shower stream was practically non existent, not enough force to rinse my hair and kept vacillating between tepid and too hot!
Most of the "front desk" people don't know anything about customer service and have had no training in it! A 4 star hotel at check-in should at least offer a map of the area and have some knowledge of the vicinity! That was not our experience.. we had to ask for a map! One gets the feeling this is just a temporary summer job for most of these people and they can't wait for this to be over! Obviously we don't recommend this hotel! I don't know how they ended up with a 4 star rating! We have traveled extensively and stayed in many hotels and I can honestly say I've never stayed in one like this! It's definitely not a 4 star hotel.. It's a hostel masquerading as a hotel!

Dear Kamalina, Thank you for taking the time to write to us as a result of your stay. We are sorry that the service and delivery have not lived up to your expectations. We are grateful that you mentionned the positive things of your stay like the bed and the views from the hotel. We are sorry if the good words were not given to you about our policy : Indeed, there is no more amenities in the room except shampoo and body shower gel to reduce waste. For hygiene reasons, we are due to provide individual amenities and it is the choice of each one to use it or not. There is no plastic ustensils in the room, we provide paper cup for coffee and tea and wood stirer. Moreover, we can certify that 100% of our lights are LEDS. We would be pleased to send you all technical proofs if you wish. We had an evaluation in August to regain our 4 star and all of these criterias were checked. Concerning our frontdesk team, we are very sorry that you had this feeling. You may know it is very difficult to find staff nowadays in he hospitality industry, however, our team is trained and we use to have very good feedback about them. Again, we would like to thank you for your comments. They allow us to correct our mistakes and thus regain your trust. In the expectation of welcoming you soon, we ask you to believe, Madam, in expressing our best feelings.

The hotel is really well located, central and close to the center on foot, which is a real plus! The rooms are small, the decoration was not to our taste (but that's personal) and the bathroom was equipped with a bathtub, which is super nice! On the other hand, the breakfast was not worth the price: a lot of things were missing, loose tables, lack of cutlery, etc., it was quite disorganized.

I should start by saying it is hard to get a 5 from me for a hotel.
My group of 4 was very happy with the Alpina. For starters, it's right next to two bus stops, one of which is only 2 stops from Brevent. There is also a ski shop in the hotel, and ski lockers downstairs. As this was primarily a ski trip, this set up was prime.
The rooms were great and the view of Mont Blanc from the terrace was amazing each morning.
The morning breakfast situation was pretty fantastic as well. So many options, including fresh pancakes, omelets, and crepes.
The bar downstairs had fantastic service and had a bunch of boardgames to play with our friends. Some of of best memories from this trip were down in this area playing games and drinking espresso martinis.
I only have a few negatives: 1. The elevators always seem to take forever. There were multiple times I was waiting for one of the 3 elevators for over 5 minutes. 2. The spa requires reservations, which I completely understand to make sure it's not over crowded. But we had to plan our ski day and apres schedule around when we can go sit in the hot tub. 3. This was made a bit worse when we discovered the hot tubs are not hot. At all. Typically we enjoy hot tubs around 35-43ºc. These two hot tubs were maybe 25ºc. Once the jets turned on, it was almost chilly.
These are very minor complaints, but these are why I didn't give a 5.

We're thrilled to hear that you and your group had such a fantastic stay with us, and that our convenient location, ski facilities, and breakfast options added to the enjoyment of your ski trip. It's heartwarming to know that you enjoyed the rooms and the breathtaking views of Mont Blanc from our terrace each morning. We're also delighted that you appreciated the breakfast offerings and the service at our bar, as well as the opportunity to enjoy board games and cocktails with your friends. Pros and cons for this Pension. Pros: central location easy to access, exceptional panoramic view of the 7th floor (breakfast, bar), very good bedding, good soundproofing inside the rooms, professional and friendly staff. The negatives: 1)no air conditioning and very hot room when it was early September. 2)So need to sleep with the window open and there is the disaster! Impossible to sleep before 1am given the outside “brothel” caused by a nearby bar and it continued during our 4 nights (Monday to Thursday). This situation is not at all normal compared to the extra 100€ paid for a superior room overlooking Mont Blanc...this room should have actually cost 100€ less considering the proximity of this bar!! 3) expensive parking (30€/day) given the difficulty to park there. 4) Disappointing breakfast adapted to an English-speaking but not French-speaking clientele: no valid bread and no baguette, no regional products.5) No indoor pool but a small spa (including 2 Jacuzzi 4 places), a steam room and a sauna available on Reservation for 1 hour...unless the spa has been privatized (250€ but they will lower the Award to make the privatization more attractive!) 6) small SDB 7) lacks hangers (we were given some again).

The lift situation is terrible. Walking up several flights of stairs after skiing is NOT acceptable. This is NOT a spa hotel - despite trying daily, we managed ONE spa booking at a very awkward time. The system of booking means people book up ALL the evening slots and others don’t get a chance. Backward. The standard rooms are seriously tiny and do not have any hanging space - it’s in a ski resort and people need to hang ski jackets etc. I have not seen the ski guide at his desk once - no advice there. Rooftop restaurant is good

Good quality hotel, with a warm welcome. The rooms (superior) are spacious, chalet style with wood on the wall. The balcony overlooking the Mont Blanc range is a plus. The room is well equipped (coffee maker, bathrobe, separate toilet, etc.) The spa side is very good, you just have to remember to reserve your time slot. Breakfast is plentiful and varied, it is taken on the top floor with a beautiful view of the city and Mont-Blanc. The car park is secure (basement and closed) and accessible directly from the hotel. The only downside when we came (bad luck, we were under the heat dome, with 35°!!), was that the room had no air conditioning! It seems that all the hotels in Chamonix are like this. However, the breakfast room is air-conditioned... As a result, we spent 3 nights sleeping poorly, due to a high temperature (despite the fan provided).

We had a good stay on our return to Chamonix over New Year. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. The restaurant on the 7th floor is spectacular and having breakfast there with views of the town and mountains is lovely The evening buffet is good. The rooms are comfortable with really fluffy towels. The underground parking is very convenient.
Things that let the hotel down: - the spa is too small for the number of guests - one treadmill and a few weights does not constitute a gym. It should just be removed to expand the spa area. - the rooms were cleaned too late in the day, after 4pm - there aren’t enough lifts. One of the three lifts was faulty most of our stay, resulting in long waits. - Breakfast is good but the scrambled eggs are unpleasant and inedible, perhaps made from powdered egg. - the WiFi was terrible. We used 5G most of the time.
