Nestled in a scenic setting, Hotel Le Morgane Chamonix garners praise for its prime location, with guests appreciating the easy access to nearby attractions and public transport. While the views and cleanliness receive commendations, some visitors mention that the spa, comfort of the rooms, and certain amenities could benefit from refurbishment.
The staff's professionalism stands out, yet there are occasional mentions of service inconsistencies. The hotel's atmosphere, including a welcoming bar and quality breakfast, contributes to a pleasant experience, although opinions on value for money are divided.

We just got back from chamonix and the trip couldn't have been more amazing! Starting from the location of the hotel, it is 5 minutes walk from the bus station, so we had zero difficulties going with the luggage, the streets are easy access to push the luggage with a rodinha. When arriving at the hotel the staff always very polite, including had even a Portuguese, very friendly who helped a lot with our doubts. The room was excellent, spacious, strong showers, not counting the manha coffee, which was the place where I ate the most delicious crossaint of the whole trip! One night we had dinner at the hotel that has a michelin restaurant, the food was simply perfect! Indicate the hotel le morgane in all respects And to close with gold key we had to the blessing of snow every day we were there, it was beautiful!

This was our second visit to Chamonix and this lovely, central hotel. We had a magnificent week of hiking, fuelled by the excellent food that is the hallmark of the hotel‘s restaurant (Le Comptoir des Alpes). The staff at the hotel and restaurant are young, enthusiastic and professional - and obviously warm to guests who share their enthusiasm. It made a real difference to our holiday.
We were given the same top floor room as in 2022, with the same spectacular view of Mont Blanc. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we largely slept well. But as in 2022, the weather was hot all week, so we encountered the same battle with heat in our room. We created a through-draft by keeping a side window and the balcony door open, but the southwest-facing window in the bathroom was sealed (possibly for safety reasons) so heat was trapped there. This is not a complaint! We could not have wished for better weather for hiking, but guests probably need to have a strategy for keeping their rooms cool in these conditions (eg keep the curtains drawn in the afternoon).
We found the breakfast in the restaurant even more interesting and varied than in 2022. The cappuccinos (cappuccini?), from a (new?) machine behind the bar and served to the table, are perfect and generously proportioned. And the dinners are still stunning, with the fusion of Italian and French cuisine. We dined in the restaurant every evening and were treated like special guests, even though this is obviously still a “destination“ restaurant with a lot of custom from outside the hotel. The menu was sufficiently varied to suit us for a week - but given the heat we settled several times on the delicious smoked trout/courgette starter, the sea bass main course, and the “tiramisu revisité“. These were all immaculately prepared and presented. Everything we tried was superb, but these would be our recommendations for hot weather.
We also settled on a lovely Rosé wine (La Nuit Tous Les Chats Sont Gris), recommended by one of the waiters who came from the same region of Provence. This suited the weather - and our budget. (Our one surprise this year was that the local wines, which we had explored in 2022, were either unavailable or almost twice the remembered price. This may well be down to recent extremes of weather and damaged harvests. Anyway, it wasn’t a problem.)
We will definitely return to this hotel!

We had 7 nights on bed and breakfast basis and had booked a Junior Suite with Mont Blanc views. I would recommend this on a higher floor, providing you are happy with having the shower within the bath. However these rooms do not have a walk-in separate shower and if you wish for this then request Room 415 on the 4th floor, but this does face Brevent as opposed to Mont Blanc and this room is in the shade for most of the day which could be an advantage in July and August when the temperatures can be 30 degrees plus, as there is no aircon. If you are happy with a shower within the bath then I would request a higher floor one with the Mont Blanc views. The Hotel staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Mathilde at the Font Desk was extremely helpful and friendly ensuring our stay at the hotel was the best. The hotel location again is exceptionally good and you are literally minutes from the Cable Car, bus and train stations as well as the town centre.

I will start with the positives: – This Pension has outdoor parking, which is very good and very convenient. It is well insulated and provides some security with a barrier at the entrance to the car park. The restaurant of the Inn Le Comptoir des Alpes is very good and very refined both in the morning and in the evening. - good location, since we are very close to the city center.
The big flats: The room is aging, you can see yellow joints in the shower, traces on the wall, complaints completely damaged. We had a light bulb in the bathroom that burned out, so not much light in this bathroom it was pretty dark. The terrace of the wooden chamber is completely damaged, the wood it cracks, the screws to hold the wooden plates were completely tired. - The sofa bed abominable bed, it is not comfortable at all, so when you are 3/4 people and you stay a long time, it is necessary to take 2 bedrooms. - You are told a terrace on the 4th floor overlooking the white mont, do not dream this terrace is very poorly maintained, there are 2 deckchairs and a chair always on this crunchy and damaged wood. And nothing extraordinary, the place sucks.
It is very hot in the Pension, and even in the rooms. There is very little fresh air. Fresh air can be provided by a fan, but this small fan is old, and insufficient to completely cool the room. It is just a little fresh air, but rest assured this fan dates from the Pension originally it was never changed.
- leaks when showering, the bathtub is dated and once the shower is finished you can see all the floor soaked because of bad seals and old materials.
Visit this Pension if you stay 1 week, but for 2 days it is enough. But frankly, the Award Level is zero. It’s not worth the Award, it’s way too expensive for what it is. Trip Tip: Skip this Inn you will find better at the same Award.

Because google refusing to post honest comments, i will share my experience here.
Great location, and eventually we got a big room (they tried to give totally opposite what was on the picture booked way in advance). Good, fresh breakfast. Friendly service. But the bathroom and shower need urgent reparation. Even some furniture in the room. Flowers in the spa can be live, not from plastic. As well cleaning could be better. We had a blocked sink. Apparently cleaning service didn’t wash it, just polished it. Otherwise problem would be fixed before new client arrives. To add, it’s important to invest in new, non-broken towels. We had also leaking toilet.

This Hotel is not 4 star by any means, the reception staff are the rudest & most unhelpful people, not what you would expect at 4stars. We were a big group and took the suit room meaning 4 of us had to sleep on sofa beds, they were the most uncomfortable bed i have ever stayed on, we were not expecting at lot from a sofa bed but to feel every spring is very poor, the quality of the whole hotel felt a little run down and over priced. breakfast was terrible on the hot option front they quickly ran out of beans and bacon & weren't replenished for a whole 1hour the eggs were green and watery not appetising at all. The breakfast staff were running around looking very stressed but very nice, To be totally honest it was all very very disappointing, the best thing about this hotel is the view from our balcony, and being right in town. I will never stay here again this is for sure!!!!!

2 star hotel at the price of a 4 star. This results in more than mediocre value for money. I strongly advise against this tourist trap which just deserves to be well referenced on Google and Booking.
There are many points of disappointment:
- Difficult to make reservations by telephone (4 calls to finally book myself on the website) - The web reservation interface for mobile dates from 2004, very not intuitive, not very pleasant, does not inspire confidence when paying - Overall hotel decoration disappointing, basic and bland - The same for finishes in general - Level of cleanliness also very basic (dust, traces, stains, etc.) - The room deserves a lick of paint, strangely doesn't look as good as in the photos, a disappointing effect in reality. - “view of the mountains”? Why include this statement which is misleading, because the view overlooks the building opposite and its parking lot? - The bathroom is poorly laid out, the shower head is worn and scratchy, and the shower temperature is not constant, sometimes it gets cold and sometimes it gets hot. The shower has no flow. - The bedroom carpet and bathrobes are not comfortable and at the end of their life, they should have been changed a long time ago - The carpet in the corridors is dirty in places.
I think the hotel is very well managed from a marketing point of view, because it looks really great on the Internet. But reality does not follow.
Reduce your prices (€300 a night out of season, not adapted to the level of service), don't mention misleading things, and invest to keep your stars, because I don't see how the hotel deserves 4 stars.
Good point to make: - Great location in the heart of Chamonix

Perfect location for everything in Chamonix, the train station, bus terminal, Aiguille du Midi, all the bars and restaurants, bakeries and Moodys Coffee, all within easy walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable with a fab balcony overlooking Mont Blanc and Le Brevent and Plan Praz. We had everything we needed, kettle with some tea provided, toiletries in the bathroom and a hairdryer and safe etc. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the team at Breakfast could not have been more helpful. The breakfast is varied with lots of fresh food provided and lots of options. Yes it is warm at night, it's August, but you can open the window or the balcony doors to let some fresh air in as long as you can sleep with the noise of the river or a bit of street noise. If, like us, you're out all day walking and hiking then you will sleep fine! We had a lovely stay here and would recommend this hotel.

Hotel is not luxury but everything one would need. The staff is very professional, willing to help and make recommendations for the area. The hotel is located on the “quiet side” of Chamonix with plenty of amenities just steps away: grocery store, reasonably priced quality restaurants and the Aiguille du Midi cable car. I would stay here again,

Poor Dirty, the bathroom joints are moldy, the woodwork has taken on water because it is so worn, the carpet is badly stained... Smell of pipes in the hallways Noisy +++, between the nightclub opposite and the neighboring rooms, not much quiet time The breakfast is good but qualitatively it is disappointing The spa was closed. We were directed to the spa of a partner hotel 10 minutes away on foot. Poorly maintained, unlit, no changing room but only a shower and a toilet... nice for a 4 star The 4 stars? We wonder how they manage to preserve them...

Apologies, only seeing your question now. There is ski rental a 2 minute walk away. Just across the river from the hotel. There is ski storage & lockers in the hotel. And if you want the ski rental stores can deliver your equipment to the hotel.
There are more places to choose from in the Chamonix area.
