The positives; The hotel is located very nicely with restaurants nearby and walking distance to the harbour; very helpfull personel in the reception; cheap; comfortable beds.

The negatives; Terrible cleaning, the floor has not been cleaned thoroughly and the floorpanels and walls has never been touched by the cleaning staff; The questionable cleaning extends to the tea kitchen, did not want to use it; The room in general was much more dated then in the pictures on the booking site; There wan no cleaning for the duration of the stay, which was 3 nights, this was not listed on booking site.

All in all; Spend your money and nights elsewhere.

Dear Mathilde, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We're delighted to read you appreciated our team's professionalism and that you enjoyed our central location. We apologize if the cleaning of your apartment was not satisfactory. Do not hesitate to let our receptionists know about it during your stay. They'll be able to help you by offering to switch apartments or plan a new cleaning of your apartment. We did forward your comments about the floor and walls to the residence manager. In regards to the kitchen, our guests have the responsibility to clean it if they use it. If you find that the previous guests did not clean it well enough, please let our receptionists know about it. As for daily cleaning, as we are an apartment hotel and not a hotel, it is not included in the booking. This is all explained on our website www.residhotel.com. We hope we will welcome you again soon. Kind regards, Emma, Service Qualité

Establishment generally in relation to the price paid. FOR MY PART during my stay in the room I occupied (720) I kept hearing a muffled noise that was not very loud but annoying (type of generator starting 24 hours a day). I reported the problem and was told it was outside the property but there were vibrations in my room. Not being a person who creates trouble and content of the price I spent my stay with this embarrassment.

Since the first step in that place we knew this was the hotel to be.
We used to feel guests and not just a number from American express.
Two young ladies and a nearly 50 man were on duty to handle our reservation.
While we were explained check-in was about 15:00 then in 2 hours, they labelled and stored our bags and let us use their public bathroom.
We were given a local map highlighting beaches and fastfoods we went to for an await of check-in.
Lovely, when back to residence we were like VIP by another staff member speaking a perfect english , he kindly checked us in with €100 deposit and local taxes within 4 minutes including clear explanations on where and when is everything. Funny we shortly met 2 managers the outgoing and the incoming.
Let me also notice the cleaning high level, congrats to housekeeing team really !

DO NOT STAY HERE! During my stay I have encountered terrible staff service, construction on my floor, and horrible hospitality!

To start off with the staff service here are the most unhelpful, clueless people I have ever encountered during a stay at a hotel. My stove in my room broke twice and when I told the front desk lady she seem clueless and was unable to help me with the problem. She claimed she would notify me after she called appliances but never did. They never followed up with my stove, even though I asked twice and they said they would "take care of it". I had no working stove for the last 2 weeks of my stay. Additionally, every time I had asked a question about the hotel the front desk were unable to answer me or give me any guidance.

Next there was construction on my floor for the first 2 weeks of my stay. In more description there was hanging wires everywhere, wood panels on the ground, and I even had to go around the construction workers as they painted the floor! This is for one an extreme safety hazard and very uncomfortable as random construction workers are in my hallway in an unknown country. Below I will insert a photo of the construction I had for the first 2 weeks of my stay.

Lastly, this place has horrible hospitality. Staff members refuse to give you fresh towels if asked, claiming they give them once a week when they clean your room. I have had multiple occurrences where they missed my room cleaning and I have gotten no fresh towels or a made bed! Additionally, the hotel breakfast is terrible and staff refuses you to take coffee to go if you don't purchase breakfast (even though I did this beforehand the first 2 weeks and was never notified until mid stay). These staff members do not notify their guests of anything and are very disorganized!

Please if you can choose somewhere else do it! This place was a terrible and I will never be returning!

Dear Ms. Reed, We're sorry to read your stay with us is not satisfactory. However, we would like to go over some points and give our point of view. You are staying with us as part of your studies with a French Business school which we have been working with for years and has always been happy with our services. We are also always in contact with the program's point of contact to ensure everything is going well. Our receptionists were able to help you. Indeed, you let our receptionist know twice that your stove was not working properly and our technician came to your room each time to check on the stove and make the necessary repairs. So our reception team and our technician did take care of it. The Director also called the school's point of contact to let him know that if this problem happened again we will bring you a set of hot plates. Regarding the towels, the change of towels included in your reservation is once a week. This has been explained to you in a detailed email from the program point of contact. If you want more towels, then you do have to pay the extra fee. We admit that there was some miscommunication on our part regarding the coffee in the morning as it is supposed to only be free for our guests who had taken the breakfast option. However, as you did not eat our breakfast, you cannot testify to how good it is or not. We also were renovating the hallways, and even though we took many precautions to lessen the impact on the stay of our guests, we apologize for any inconvenience it caused. Kind regards, Emma, Service Qualité

Why do I NOT recommend this hotel. I booked this apartment hotel for 12 days. When I checked in on Sunday I was told that my room would be serviced half way my stay. That would be day six which is Friday. I was asked to keep my room tidy and everything off the bed and floor for easy cleaning by housekeeping. Friday I returned from work and no cleaning done. I went to the front desk asking if I misunderstood the cleaning schedule and was told that they were busy and cleaning will be done the next day. Saturday no service, Sunday no service, Monday no service. I went down to the front desk again and asked them to explain me the house rules again. No apologies. They gave me clean towels to take to my room. Hurray!! Still they could not tell me when the room would be cleaned or if cleaning was included. Breakfast is ok if you are lucky is ready at 7am. Most of the time it was not ready before 7:15am. Laundry machine credit card reader did not work. Room is badly maintained. Peeling paint, damaged doors, Smoke detector missing, safe missing. You have to clean your own kitchen or they will charge you Euro 45.00 when you leave. Several supermarkets close buy to buy your own food. Neighborhood is intimidating at night due to the many homeless sleeping around the corner. I did not expect a 4 star hotel, but this is so basic that it could not get 1 star. Again I do not recommend this hotel.

Dear Bert V, We are very sorry your apartment was not cleaned halfway through your stay. You should have indeed gotten this service. From what we can gather from your comment, it seems like there was an unusual oversight. We invite you to contact our customer service so we can sort everything out. You can email our customer service at this address: service.client@residhotel.com or directly from our website, residhotel.com, on the "contact us" page. Regarding the card reader in the laundry room, it is the first time it was brought to our attention. We contacted the payment terminal company so they can check it. Again , we are very sorry about the mid-stay cleaning. We hope we will welcome you again for a better experience. Kind regards, Emma, Service Qualité

Enjoyed staying: location is great, not far from a subway Metro Perrier station and maybe 30 minutes from canebiere and centre of Marseille. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. At first it wasn’t right my room smelled of cigarette (some guests smoked indoors) but the reception man called Bruno was so helpful and smiley and gave us a lot of informations about Marseille. Thanks for the hospitality, you turned a bad start into very happy customer, merci beaucoup Bruno pour le professionnalisme

The apartment was extremely dirty, not just from missing last cleaning but from years of only cleaning the middel of the floors. Corners and gaps were full of dust and bread crumbs. And doors and walls were sticky of long time accumulated dirt. We found leftover noodles in the bed frame. Housekeeping cannot possibly have not seen it when changing the sheets.

A friendly soul in the reception wanted to help, but there is no cleaning staff available. He found an old vacuum cleaner and offered to come and clean it after his shift had ended.

The entire floor was stinking heavily from frying oils the entire evening. No surprise since there is no kitchen ventilation, only the basic air conditioning for the rooms. The room was also stinking, but it improved after blasting the AC for hours while we went out to eat.

Would absolutely not recommend. For anyone. Horrible.

Dear Kris, We are very sorry our cleaning services were not satisfactory. We have forwarded your comments to the Head House Housekeeper of our group as well as the manager and the head housekeeper of the residence so they can all take a deeper look at the issues you point out and take the necessary measures if needed. As for the pictures, a few things can differ from the apartment pictured to the one you had but overall they are pretty similar. However, we do have different types of apartments. Would it be possible you looked at the pictures of a different type of apartment than the one you booked ? We're sorry for the bother caused by the smell of food. As we are an apartment hotel, our rooms have the great advantage of being equipped with kitchenettes which can cause some smells when people are cooking. Especially during the summer, with the heat, people don't always open the windows to freshen their apartments when cooking. We hope we will welcome you again for a better experience. Kind regards, Emma, Service Qualité

Hotel that is not worth 3*, elevators not maintained or at least very few (odors) Corridor to go to the rooms very dirty, without light.
In the room, an unpleasant smell remains throughout the room despite ventilation, the front door closes 1/2, the dishes that are lent were very dirty with traces, the bed is not comfortable, it moves and moves a lot noise, shower head that hurts because of too much water pressure.
To change towels there is a cost of 10€.
In terms of location, there is parking right next to the hotel, but you should know that it costs €31 per 24 hours, very very expensive, and if you sleep with the window open it is very noisy because of a lot of traffic.

Hotel that is not worth 95/100€ per night!!!!
Very disappointed because from the photos they offered it looked good.

I stayed at the Residhotel Grand Prado for 8 nights in May/June. I found the check-in procedure easy, and the staff were very helpful. My room was large, clean, and comfortable...and generally quiet. On my departure, the reception staff were kind enough to telephone for a taxi for me to go to the airport, and I had no problems with the check-out procedures. A good stay, and I would commend the staff for their helpfulness.
