We stayed in this hotel two times: the first on the room 607 (the best one) and the second one on the room 212 .
Rooms are very small, there isn't wardrobe.
Clear, good shower.
As we arrived before, we have paid 4 euros for let each luggage...we think that this service is very expensive.
The hotel is in a very good position and very clear to the hotel there is a very good boulangerie - closed on sunday.
Recomended for short stay.

Dear Patrizia, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are glad that you found our location convenient and our facilities met your needs. We are sorry that you feel our left luggage service is more that you would have liked, our general feedback is that for the convenience of this service for a period of up to 8 hours, it is a very pleasing price, however, we have noted your comments in this regard. Our rooms are the standard Ibis Budget size and although they do not have a wardrobe they do have a convenient hanging area for guests to use for their clothes. We appreciate your comments as these help us to maintain and also improve our service.. We hope we may have the chance to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Stéphane Mojica, Manager

This affordable hotel offers small rooms and is well located near the "vieux port". Breakfast is OK. Rooms under the roof (7th floor) have a low ceiling. You can request late check-out & bagagge deposit but you have to pay for those extra services.

Dear Patrick, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are delighted to know that you had a pleasant stay at our convenient location. It’s also great to know we were able to tempt your taste buds with the wide selection on offer on our breakfast buffet. Our standard Ibis budget rooms are the same size, although they are designed to maximise the space available with your comfort in mind. Additionally, we have noted your comment regarding the low ceiling. Perhaps we can help reserve you a room on your next trip with a different layout. We have also tried to ensure that all additional charges are clearly stated on our website and we regret any misunderstanding. We hope that we have the pleasure of seeing you again in the future. Best regards, Stéphane Mojica, Manager

Stayed here a couple of nights, choosing it for its central location really. Check in and out was simple. The hotel makes use of an historic building, so the layout is a bit odd, but there are lifts to the different floors. Our room was on the top floor at the rear of the building, with a skylight rather than a window, so no view. However, it was remarkably quiet for a city centre hotel. We didn't hear street noise or any other guests, though I imagine it is rather more lively in the holiday season. The rooms are small, but everything was recently installed and clean. There is no cupboard or wardrobe: clothes go on hangers, and there are a few narrow shelves to unpack your necessities. Wall mounted TV, no kettle, the only items of furniture were the bed (very comfy), a small occasional table and one hard chair. Bathroom/shower fine, everything perfectly clean. For a short, busy, stopover, this was fine for us, but one wouldn't want to stay longer, or linger in the room after getting up. Buffet breakfast available, and as it's centrally located, there are plenty of dining options nearby. We felt safe in the neighborhood and inside the hotel. Public transport (buses and metro) available from the Vieux Port 5 minutes walk away. At the time of writing, I would recommend buses, as the metro stations here and at the main railway station Saint Charles are undergoing renovations and are a bit awkward to access. Altogether an economical choice for a short stay for sightseeing or business.

Have been making some research on the which hotel to book as we drive to Marseille. Decided to book with this hotel becouse it stated that they have private parking onsite and they have double bed w a bunk bed, which is suitable for our family of 3. Called the hotel half an hour before reaching to check on the parking, they say parking is not availabe. No choice, we parked at the nearby public carpark that cost $15.50.
We reach the hotel at 1130am but Check in is only available at 1pm. We are asked to store our luggage at the payment storage. We choose a big storage that cost $8.
Went back to check in at 3pm, to my surprised we was given a double room that is so small and they added a sofa bed, there was no walking space at all for 3 person. Its not what was shown on the website that i have booked. Went back to check with the reception, she said they are fully book and there is no double bed with a bunk. There is no way for 3 of us to stay in such a small room so we have no choice but to book another double room. If i know we will be given double room with a sofabed, no way i will book this hotel. I feel so cheated and disappointed.
The only good about this hotel is the location near lots of eatery.

Dear Seah, Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. While we are pleased that you appreciated our convenient location, we regret not everything about your stay met your expectations. As you mentioned, our normal check-in time is 1:00 pm and although we do our best to have rooms available for our arriving guests this depends on availability. Early check-in is possible subject to availability for a small extra charge. We try to accommodate all our guests' preferences, however, this can depend on availability and are sorry that your choice of room was not available. The comfort and well-being of our guests are very important to us and we would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused. As mentioned on our website and all other booking platforms, we do have a private carpark although with limited space and regret that perhaps it was already full when you arrived. We hope to welcome you back on future occasions. Best regards, Stéphane Mojica, Manager

I paid just under £80 a night for a Friday night in early September and was pleasantly surprised at the location and value for money. Very friendly staff on reception when checking in.

My room was on the 7th floor. I think all rooms on this floor are built into the roof eaves so there was only a velux/skylight window. You couldn’t see out unless you stood on a chair – I did this and could see the old port. Room was very clean. Room didn’t have a fridge, kettle, safe or cupboards etc. It was small but perfectly adequate for a night or two.

Location is brilliant – you’re only a couple of minutes from the old port with heaps of restaurants and ferries etc. I also walked to the Basilica Notre Dame de la Garde which was about 25 minutes uphill from the hotel - or take bus 60.

Breakfast was €8.90 and it was great value with plenty of choice including scrambled eggs, cold meats and cheese, croissants, mini pancakes and pastries, yoghurts, fruit compôtes etc.

Hotel is very close to a square with lots of alfresco dining – rooms facing on to it can be a bit noisy at night. I would definitely stay here again.

Your kind words about the cleanliness of the room and the friendliness of our staff are truly appreciated. Well located if you are looking in Puerto Viejo. 50 meters away there are places to eat a menu for €24 (good price for the place). Lidl supermarket 25 meters away. Metro and bus entrance in the same port about 100 meters. The reception staff is friendly, although they do not speak Spanish. There is a buffet breakfast for €8.90 which is a good price for this city. At the reception they sell souvenirs from the city, which are certainly cheaper than the souvenirs around. At the reception there is water for you to refill bottles or glasses for free. Clean room, comfortable bed. To add a drawback, leaving your luggage at reception has a cost since they have paid lockers (from €4 to €6 8 hours, depending on size). In short, if I returned to Marseille I think I would repeat the hotel.

Ibis hotels are all over Europe. Most are nice some are not. This one is excellent! Very modern design and decor, very friendly staff. The breakfast that is included is like eating at fancy restaurant every morning for breakfast. The staff in the restaurant is so warm and go over the expectation of service. I had such great experience at this hotel I will definitely stay here in the future.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. The hotel is well located to visit Marseille. Inside it feels more like a hostel than a hotel, but the price was cheap so fair enough. Our room (triple) was basic but clean. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning was very poor and not adjustable. The room was very noisy. Very loud plumbing noises (like a waterfall) and we could hear everything in adjacent rooms and corridor. We did not have a good night sleep.
There was a very strong sewage smell in the corridor, thankfully not in the room.
We arrived early thinking we could leave our luggage until our room was ready but were told they wouldn't hold our luggage and instead we were given an address on the Vieux Port where we could leave our luggage for a fee (something like 3.50 euros for 3 hours). In my opinion this is extremely poor service.
We regretted choosing this hotel and would not stay there again.

Dear Manuel, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We greatly appreciate your mention of our convenient location and the high standards we strive to uphold, however, we regret that your stay didn't meet all your expectations. We truly value all feedback and apologise from any inconvenience. Nevertheless, we are surprised by some of your comments. Firstly, all our rooms have airconditioning which is controlled individually in each room; do not hesitate to contact the reception if assistance is needed. Secondly, although luggage can't be left in the room we do have lockers available in the hotel with a cost of 2€ and no time limit. Lastly, our team are on hand 24 hours to deal with any issues you may have such as the odour you mention and would have looked to this immediately if informed. Nevertheless, we hope that we may have the chance to welcome you back for a more pleasant experience in the future. Kind regards, Stéphane Mojica, Manager

The room was quite small, but adequate, and was very clean. Breakfast consisted of cereals, pancakes, pan au chocolate, croissants etc., with jams, chocolate spread etc. Coffee, hot chocolate etc was provided by machines. Nice large breakfast area.
The only problem was parking, they do offer on site parking underneath the hotel, but my car was deemed too big. Alternative parking is available nearby (Indigo) but at a higher price.
The hotel is situated at 100 metres from the quayside of the Vieux Port, making sightseeing such as the Basilica of Notre Dame very accessible.

You can get the L91 from the airport to the train station - Gare de Marseille-Saint-Charles. From there it’s a 20 minute walk. Or from the train station you can get the metro to Vieux Port and walk for 5 minutes. You can buy your ticket from the kiosk outside the airport terminal, or you can pay the driver.

How far is the beach from the hotel? Also can the hotel book day trips

You can reach the beach by car in 20minutes. I do not know if the hotel can book day trips because I had a friend driving us around. But very close to the hotel there are tourist places and you can also book boat trips
