Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel really exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff was beyond kind and so willing to help. The location is right next to the beach and not far from St Tropez. The parking is right in front. My room was very big and I even had a huge patio terrace with beach views. I loved my stay here and even stayed longer than expected. From the moment I woke up, I could see the sea. The closest beach was pretty great and not too crowded. I think this hotel offers a great value for price considering its location.

Not your typical modern hotel. Charming is the word to describe this villa. This property surely has great potential but needs more upgrade. Although I didn't mind the old and antique looking villa since I was only staying for a night but it was clean and spacious. We had the room facing the sea and the toilet was big enough to do a cartwheel. Staff was friendly and we had a comfortable stay.

Real disappointment as the pictures on hotels.com looked great and even the house from outside is nice. We opted for the room with patio which didn’t have windows, was dark and smelled of damp. The bathroom had a big shower but was very tired. There was a small fridge which was very noisy when running. It is near Sainte Maxime, a bit of a walk but possible. Great property with potential but needs a lot more attention.

Secure private on site parking. Free wifi, air conditioning in room along with a large fan. Fridge in room, with mini bar at very reasonable prices. This hotel is directly on the waterfront and overlooks the beach. Our room was situated on a large wrap around patio area on an upper floor, with tables and chairs outside, so you could enjoy looking out over the sea - gorgeous. No bar or restaurant on site, but there is a restaurant next door. Or there is a supermarket and boulangerie a 10 minute walk away. Lovely place, very helpful and friendly staff.

The Hotel Martinengo was a step back in time, and perfect. Located directly opposite the sea, free parking, the room was very clean, quirky and large, it slept 3 people. Upon arrival the young guy at reception helped us carry all of our luggage and there was a lot, up to our room, which had a huge terrace outside. It was really cheap, located less than a 10 min drive from St Tropez and a delight. Just up the road, 2 blocks away is a fabulous bakery with great coffee but take change as the coffee is through a vending machine. We would definitely stay there again

The hotel is located by the sea, close to St. Tropez and port Grimaud. We had a large double room with a nice view over the sea. Unfortunately forniture is so kitsch but our room was clean. The owner and the receptionist were friendly and kind with us.

I am afraid of telling how enthousiast we are about this place, afraid that too many people want to book this and it will be booked full when we want to go back! Not à real hotel I think, more à luxury villa along the boulevard to St.Tropez. From our balcony we see St. Tropez and the beach

This hotel has the 'Wow' factor as you arrive and the room did not disappoint. We had a lovely room with a balcony and a great view. We enjoyed a bottle of bubbly on the balcony from the room fridge which went down very well. The room was extremely well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was a little disappointing, bit below average but staff very attentive.

If you are looking for a modern, all service hotel this isn't the place for you. Family run meant that it was very friendly, very relaxed and easy going. The hotel is filled with unique flower pots, silk flowers, old Grecian style distressed pillars, head busts, bits of old architectural stone masonry which could make for interesting conversation. The decor and bathrooms remind you of times gone by, so don't expect mod cons. The bedding and towels were absolutely fine and the bathroom clean albeit a shower that was over the bath with a mind of its own and coming off the taps. It was like renting a room in an old Aunts house, pleasant and a little off the wall. It was within easy walking distance of some good restaurants and the beach, and a prime location for a sea view. We would say it was expensive for what we paid, breakfast on day 2 was coffee, juice and a couple of madelines, they forgot the croissants!

Great location but on heavy traffic road to St Tropez. Walking distance to city centre of St Maxime, great view over sea. Very little parking space, bathrooms typical French, outdated and not well maintained. Breakfast on outside terrace is good and friendly but requires additional payment. Very small minibar and no wifi in the rooms. No other services available. Nice but expensive and somehow old fashioned
