There are some good deals to be had in winter at this hotel on the internet sites. The hotel is easy to find, but best to do so with a taxi from the main train station. However, there's a bus service every 20 minutes to the airport costing around EUR10.00 one way. The hotel itself was undergoing much what seemed...

We stayed here November 8 - 12. We were a large party, all had (as booked) sea view rooms & what an amazing location right on the Promenade des Anglais, But yes the hotel is undergoing MUCH NEEDED rooms renovations. Our room although large with a pretty Juliet balcony was extremely basic and tired, the shower was unuseable as it...

Booked this place in connection with the marathon as it was quite close to the starting area. Booked a seafront and newly renovated room, and it was really fine, all except there was a big renovationcurtain in front of our window, so no seaview. Got 2 days breakfast for two as a compensation though. Would come back another time

This was a 3 night booking which did not include breakfast. Nice large room. I did not have seaview which would have been wonderful. The location is excellent. Found hotel reception staff very helpful.

My partner was really upset when, after pre-booking a sea view room for 3 nights, we were told, upon arrival, that there wasn't one available and were handed 40 Euros as compensation. Does that make up for it? Luckily (?), we were given a sea-facing room on the 2nd of our 3 nights and spent the following morning avoiding builders...

Nothing special. Very old hotel, lobby, bad maintenance, etc. The worse is the indifferent desk staff. Most guests are + 65 yo. The small rooms have old curtains and old furniture ( very different of the pictures ). The terrace/restaurant on the contrary, was a surprise: we enjoyed the food, the presentation and the service. Price was ok. The hotel...

We paid a premium for a hotel on the Promenade and there is no denying that the view from the seaview rooms is just what we'd hoped. However, we were not lucky enough to have one of the refurbished rooms and although ours was huge, it was very tired and dated, in fact shabby. The carpet was faded and stained,...

We were booked to stay here for 3 nights, arrived at the Hotel to find the middle section of the front of the hotel was covererd in scaffolding and there was a hell of a lot of crashing and banging going on! We were extremely unhappy as we were in the understanding that the hotel had been RENOVATED back in...

Having read somewhat mixed reviews on TripAdvisor, and a decent review from Rick Steves, I decided to book this hotel through a third party site for the last weekend in August, the end of the summer season in Nice. The location on the Promenade des Anglais is ideal for those who want to stay on the beach and in the...

Recently returned from a weekend in Nice celebrating our tenth anniversary. We stayed at Le Royal and I have to say we had a lovely time. We had a second floor sea view room and it was spotlesly clean, spacious and decorated to a high standard. The location is excellent (very easy to walk to everything from here and easy...
