The Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel enjoys a central location lauded by guests for its easy access to local attractions and events. While the hotel's atmosphere and amenities, including a praised rooftop and quality breakfast, are often highlighted, some visitors have pointed out noise disturbances and a lack of a pool. Guests have had mixed experiences with service, ranging from friendly to slow and unprofessional. Room comfort and cleanliness receive commendations, though issues with size and maintenance have been noted. Despite its charms, a number of travelers question the hotel's value for money.

The hotel is beautiful and was renovated to a high standard in 2022.
If you are traveling with a dog, almost all 5* hotels in Nice and the surrounding area charge 70 euros per night.
From our point of view, the hotels do good business with dog owners. The hotels justify their 70 euro surcharge with the more complex cleaning. In our case, the hotel room had a parquet floor and ceramic tiles were laid in the bathroom. We could not determine where and when the cleaning was carried out. Not even because our room was not cleaned properly several times. The cleaning staff are not properly trained and there are no checks by their superiors.
The restaurant is not recommended. Edamame were drowned in truffle oil and the sauce for the truffle pasta was very artificial (too much truffle oil to enhance the taste). Aperitif in the bar was OK, but only worth it when the weather is nice and you can enjoy the view outside.

We spend the New Year period in Nice every year. This year we decided to treat ourselves and stay at the Hotel Anantara Plazza in Nice. The least we can say is that we do not regret this decision. The hotel is ideally located a 5-minute walk from the Promenade des Anglais, Place Masséna and the old town. The hotel is sumptuous with very spacious and well designed rooms. Most of the rooms overlook Avenue de Verdun with a view of the park (and the Christmas market at this time). From our arrival until our departure, all the staff were attentive to our needs, always smiling and trying to find solutions to our requests. Another thing to mention, we are not normally fans of breakfast at the hotel because we prefer to sleep in, but we took part in the game for January 1st. And all I can say is that we set the alarm the next day to go ;-) It is by far the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel from a choice point of view , quality, atmosphere, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff as well as the view... If you have to find a small downside, the parking with valet (59 Euro) as well as the costs to bring back without a pet (70 Euro per night) seems a A little expensive, for the rest the quality/price ratio is excellent. In summary, we found our new favorite hotel in Nice...

My parents and I stayed at wonderful new hotel gem that exceeded all our expectations. Wonderfully positioned, a stone throw from Plaza Massena with many shops and restaurants nearby and 5 min away from Ruhl plage on Promenade des Anglais, this beautiful property is so fresh, nice and rooms are absolutely quiet, very important for a good night sleep! I was upgraded to junior suite and we received birthday cake and bottle of champagne as my parents were celebrating their birthdays! What a treat!🎂🍾 Breakfast is terrific and served on wonderful rooftop terrace. Our dinner in rooftop restaurant Seen by Olivier was excellent! Hotel has sunbeds and umbrella on Ruhl plage which is just a few minutes away where very nice and accommodating beach butler greeted us every time! All members of staff are so friendly, sweet, and cordial and you feel so pampered! We will certainly warmly reccommend this beautiful property to our travel agent, family and friends. We cannot wait to return!😊
Wish you all the best and many thanks!😊

Very disappointed given the price we paid. The only positive features of this hotel was the location, the concierge and front desk staff who were very pleasant and accommodating. Thank you Anthony for helping us find packaging materials for our wine!!!!

The room had many issues though - clogged sink, loose faucet handle and shower door pull, scale not working. Come our 2nd day, housekeeping forgot bedside water bottles, 1 face towel and shower mat. Calling housekeeping by phone was useless as nobody answered.

The restaurant had a great view of the ocean and nice ambiance. However this could not make up for the poor quality of my Niçoise salad (too much dressing, seared tuna was grey-ish and lacked freshness, way too many sliced tomatoes layered around the entire plate, not enough salad). The manager offered a substitute dish of which I ordered a salmon taco (just one, costing 20 euros) Fish was fresh, but the corn taco shell came from a box. My husband’s eggs Benedict was forgotten the last day.

Def would not come back to this hotel, sorry.

Recently, a hotel group has been developing in Japan and other Asian countries. I thought I'd give it a try and booked a sea view because it's Nice, and it's true that I can see the sea but it's not what I imagined. Also, the minibar is free of water only (the five hotels I stayed at were non-alcoholic). The biggest problem is that I've been paying for three, but I thought it would be done at turndown, when I didn't have a sofa bed ready when I arrived, so I checked with the bellboy who brought my luggage, and he told me it was ok. However, when they come back after eating, they are not ready.
Further urging, the resulting sofa bed is so large that it is difficult to pass through, even though it is a junior suite. (pictured) The next day, I kept urging her to clean up the bed as soon as possible, but she wouldn't. Time to leave is running out, but it's really bad. People who don't know the structure of a room don't understand it at all when they tell you to close your bed early because you can't take your stuff out. Such defective rooms are not common.
No towels, no room description at all, a decent view from the restaurant. I should have made it another new hotel nearby. I don't trust this group.

This hotel is the nicest in Nice and I would stay again if no other hotels were available however, there are many issues:

1. We booked a room with a balcony so that we could sit in the sun during the early evening. On arrival, we were shown to a room with glass doors that opened on to railings, with no actual area to stand. This is not a balcony! I explained this to the person who was showing us around the room and she agreed and took us back to reception to rectify the mistake. She came back 10 minutes later to explain that her manager told her that the hotel defines the glass doors as a balcony?!?! After protesting we were then upgraded to a room that was apparently 2 grades higher than our room but it was exactly what I would have expected from my original room. We looked up the pricing of the upgraded room to find it was supposed to be £1,000 per night which is laughable, as it was just a very small room with a very small balcony.

2. The cleaning is not up to scratch. The hotel only opened 8 months ago but already the showers are grubby in the corners.

3. Service is poor. There is a specific service to request room cleaning, which we requested at approx 11am. We returned at 7pm to a dirty room. We requested additional towels because of this and happened to mention the situation, and so when we arrived back at the room later that night, an attempt had been made to clean it which included the pulling back of the duvet (not even the sheet) and the removal of all of our towels (no new ones provided).

4. The details you expect from the price of this hotel are missing. We requested an early check in as we were arriving early and the email reply acknowledged this, giving us the impression that it was agreed but on arrival we were told in a sarcastic tone that it wasn’t possible. We were asked to wait several hours but that we would be called if the room became available and of course, no one called but when I asked them to check, the room was miraculously ready.

Dear Madam Jackson, At the Anantara Plaza Nice, we strongly believe that there is always room for improvement and your comments will assist our team in their continuous efforts aimed at meeting our guests' expectations, therefore we greatly appreciate the time you took out of your day to share your constructive critics as it help us to improve. Due to the lack of space on the balcony in your premium garden view room, we have upgraded you to a panoramic sea view room on the top floor with larger terrace where you can sit down. Regarding the cleanliness, we would like to thank you for sharing your comments as it will help us to identify areas of concern and act immediately and I apologize about the lack of service and a report has been made to our head housekeeper for immediate action. I sent you personally a mail about your arrival and i have specified we had well noticed your arrival time at around 12H00pm and I am sorry if no one of the front desk called you when it was ready; it is not the way we have to act when a guest is waiting for his room and your room was ready by 15H00pm. We hope to have the opportunity to regain your faith during a next stay on the Cote d'Azur. With my kind regards, Laurent Mallory / Guest relation manager

We had already stayed at this hotel for Christmas and New Year. It is the old renovated Bolscolo Nizza. We were happy with the service and the rooms.

We therefore decided to return for Easter and when we booked three months in advance (!!) we requested the same rooms. We are traveling with a disabled friend of ours and we have a lot of luggage.

Did the hotel demand full payment for the rooms, which we made by bank transfer, guaranteeing us the same rooms?

When, having arrived after the plane journey, tired and with a great desire to take a shower, after thirty minutes of waiting at check in, what obviously happened? The employee assigned us other rooms, candidly saying that we had arrived after other guests and our rooms (paid in full) were no longer there.

It goes without saying that if we had been alone without our friend who had difficulty walking, we would have gone to another hotel and demanded a full refund. This was not the case and we spent five days being made fun of by the waiters on the floors who brought us breakfast and asked us how we could stay in that small room with our suitcases!!!

To be honest, the manager offered to change our rooms the next day, but you will understand that to stay for five days, unpacking, packing and repacking our bags was absolutely not feasible.

Terrible booking service. First come, first served. They lost returning clients. They will never see us again. There are many nice hotels in Nice where I have been going for over 40 years. Ananatara...goodbyes.

This hotel has a great location, and the overall decor is relatively new and clean. The rooms with a terrace offer wonderful views, which is a definite highlight. However, it is unfortunate that the service provided lacks basic respect and hospitable treatment towards guests. When complaints arose, the management failed to exhibit the expected friendly attitude and explanation, leaving a sense of disappointment.
Furthermore, the electric towel rack in the room was non-functional and remained so even after attempts to repair it. Additionally, the hairdryer provided in the room was inconvenient as it stopped working every few seconds, rendering it unusable. These issues greatly inconvenienced my stay.
This hotel has a prime location and beautiful interior decor, but the negligence in management prevents it from reaching its full potential. It is disheartening that such a promising hotel falls short in delivering the expected level of service.

Positives: Great location with beachfront, park and old town all within easy walking distances. Rooftop bar and restaurant had spectacular views. Room had abundant space with a separate dressing alcove and two closets.

Negatives: While huge, the room was oddly furnished. A footstool serviced the desk area which would have made doing any work there uncomfortable. The shower was open on one end (no lip or closure to retain water) and therefore flooded the bathroom every time we used it. Requests for service, including extra towels to replace those we used to mop up the floor required repeated calls or visits to the desk to be fulfilled.

In general staffing seemed overwhelmed inadequate. They were unprepared to handle our large group. Rooms were not ready even after the published check in time, and required repeat status visits to the desk even though a phone call was promised. The hotel has no lobby or common space and luggage was stacked in a side hallway.

The hotel has a great location. From here, the city can be explored on foot. There are great shops, restaurants, the old town, the beach, etc. in the immediate vicinity.
The room was like new and very nice. There was a bottle of wine (on arrival) and fresh water every day, which was included in the price.
The rooftop bar is unique and ideal for special occasions. The SEEN restaurant is not cheap.
For guests who arrive by car or have booked a rental car, I recommend parking in the nearby public garage. It is very narrow, but costs about half as much as the valet parking that the hotel offers for a daily fee of €59.
I must also note that my Platinum Discovery membership did not bring any advantages. I was not offered an upgrade (even after asking) or a late check out; loyalty does not pay off here!
The staff was very friendly.
