Having enjoyed our last stay in November we returned this weekend. Superior room does not feel very superior. Room feels enclosed and a bit dingy. Paper cups for tea and coffee is a disappointment. Still a good location but not such a comfortable weekend base as anticipated.

The hotel does a good job of providing all the things you want in a decent room. Space to spread out, free wifi, English and US TV, and windows that open. Breakfast came with the room, and it was also all you would need. Others have mentioned the great location, and its an easy walk to the old city.

When it comes to holiday, i would spend weeks and weeks do as much research as possible before I book the hotel. Location, cleanliness and interior designs are the most important for me. The Mercure Nice Promenade des Anglais is absolutely one of the most reasonable price with the best location. (cant go wrong with the Mercure) I stayed here...

Perfect location for bars & restaurants & Promenade des Anglais. Travel by bus, train & tramway cheap & efficient. Don't bank on much for breakfast if you want cooked but otherwise very good. Rooms are clean but lack interest. Staff very helpful and indulged my schoolboy French (which wasn't really needed - pretty much everywhere English was used)

The Mecure was a great central place to stay in Nice and so nice being right on the promenade. The room was a good size with balcony. Tea and coffee making facilities and a good sized bathroom. The staff all spoke English quite well and were very helpful. No room service but lots of restaurants and cafes only a short...

This is right on the pedestrian walkway and all the restaurants and shopping are right there. The front desk is very good from all angles, all very attentive and well trained. The room is typical Mercure, maybe a bit more mod than some of them with a unique interior design. Wifi was good and strong. I did not have the...

Pros: good location, friendly receptionists, good internet connection Cons: This hotel is "integrated" into the Meridien Hotel, where apparentliy refurbishing is going on. Apparently nobody of the staff in he hotel knows anything about that, but there is a lot of banging and hammering going on, at any time of the day, even on saturdays. So don't think of getting...

Location is great but no air con means the room was hot and of course noisy if you open the window. Room was much smaller than I thought it would be. Lavatory has sliding door (not much insulation against noise/smell...). Other than the room, the hotel has no charm at all. Breakfast was good but expensive. Bed was great, very...

Visited the Mercure Promenade des Anglais early January 2013 for one night. We wish we could had stayed longer. Hotel is located in the heart of Nice, near restaurants and pedestrian streets. I believe the bedrooms have been fully refurbished a few months ago as everything looked brand new. We had a fantastic room with sea view. Evetything was just...

I was thrilled with this hotel and will definitely return. It's position is very central to all the amenities Nice has to offer and we paid extra to have a view of the sea, which was just amazing. The room had everything we expect from a hotel: spacious, light, clean and comfortable with a fabulous shower, and everything on our...
