A very well located, small, friendly hotel. Just perfect for our short stay. Nice French breakfast with home made compote available if yogurt is not your thing. Clean and safe. The only weak point was the wifi - very weak signal but then this is a hotel not a working place. Close from Palais des Papes, and other attractions/restaurants. Walking distance from train station.

The hotel is in a small, quiet, street in the historical centre, so rooms are very small, but clean and perfectly suitable for a short stay. A/C was working fine (needed as it was 35°c outside).
We used the free parking provided by the city on the island, as there's a free shuttle stopping 3mn walk from the hotel (it also can be walked in about 15mn, but it was too hot those days)

Only issue was the walls between rooms are not very thick and unfortunately the guy next door decided to have a loud Skype conversation at 4am, waking is up; thankfully he stopped after I asked him to quiet down.
Staff was friendly enough, can't comment on their English as I spoke French.

We stayed at the Hotel Mignon in early August of 2021. The owners and staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. Everyday they went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable.
The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable. The location truly makes this hotel a gem. The narrow street is full of wonderful boutique clothing stores and restaurants. The street turns and leads to the City’s main plaza, market and Palace of the Popes. And although there is a boulangerie just down the street, Madame’s breakfast is very good and worth staying in for. I cannot imagine a better place to stay.

The location was fabulous. And a sweet man at reception was incredibly informative (he loved his city!). But that was it. Shabby with things hanging off the walls & a chipped sink in a bathroom you’d struggle to swing a cat in, were some of the the things that greets us as we opened our bedroom door. And I’ve never been a fan of polystyrene ceiling tiles.

Hello Claire, Thank you for your advise. Our Hôtel is open since the XIV century when merchants crossed the Rhône by the bridge of Avignon and stayed the night at our Auberge. We can’t strongly modify the building but we put bathrooms since that time. So everything is small. Sorry if you didn’t expect to stay in a XIV century building. We fit to requirements for a two stars hotel. On around 300 advises, average note is double of yours. Maybe you expected more space and luxury. Don’t forget that you could pay much less if you booked directly avoiding OTAs. Best regards

Me and my wife were coming from Madrid to the french alps. We decided to make a stop on the way and for no particular reason we decided Avignon would be the stop.
In was late at night, we just needed a place to crash. We discovered Hotel Mignon through various apps. They had a very economical rate so we decided for it.
The rooms were small, but neatly cleaned and the A/C worked very good.
Loved our stay and our visit to the city of Avignon.

Thank you Ricardo. We are pleased to know you liked our hotel and all the care we put around. We only regret that you spent a short time and we tried to help you not to miss any important part of Avignon. We ope we will see you back later. All the best to you!

I slept one night in the Mignon hotel. There was a very friendly service and the hotel was clean. I forgot my jeans and the hotel made sure I got them back.
Good hotel in a very good place in the middle of the center. We had a good stay in the small hotel.

The proprietor could not be more kind and helpful. Breakfasts are lovely. You can everywhere in the walled city from the hitel...wonderful restsurants, fabulous shopping, museums, etc. Or cross the Rhone and walk along the riverbank. Back at the hotel in minutes.

The hotel was conveniently located and the staff members and decorations around the hotel were more than welcoming. Additionally, the food was nourishing and the beds were comfortable. Overall, the hotel was of excellent quality and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Avignon.

We stayed at the Hotel Mignon for 3 nights during a recent trip to France and would highly recommend this as a good, basic hotel in Avignon.

THE ROOM
*Small but comfortable.
*Décor dated and worn but well maintained.
*Clean and well serviced each day.
*Thin mattress, small double bed.
*We slept really well – rooms are quiet and well insulated.
*Bathroom TINY and uncomfortable – would be unusable for a tall or overweight person. Bathroom décor dated and worn but clean.
*Our room faced out over the street but with shutters on the window and air conditioning in the room we had no issues with street noise or being too hot in the room.

SERVICES & FACILITIES
*Free wifi worked well.
*No elevator and many stairs. Very narrow stairwell – would be awkward for anyone with big suitcases and impossible for anyone with mobility issues.
*We did not have breakfast in the hotel so cannot comment.
*No laundry facilities.
*Small hotel run by a family. Very friendly, helpful service with limited English spoken.

LOCATION
*About 500m from main train station – an easy walk.
*Very close to the centre of town and the main sights in Avignon.
*Supermarket about 10 minutes walk away.
*Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby.
*In a safe, quiet area.
