Great location between the train station and palace of popes. We had a room with a juliet balcony that looked onto the Rue de Republique. It would be nice for the hotel to put a couple of patio chairs out there but we made do with dragging out some of the room chairs. Some noise from the street- didn’t bother us but if you’re a light sleeper you may want to ask for another location. Security was very good with room key needed to use the elevator. Room was very clean but housekeeper would forget to replace various things such as shower gel the first day and paper coffee cups on other days. As in many European hotels no wash cloths. Bath was divided from main room by clear glass. This was ok for us as a married couple but I was a little afraid I would crash into it in the middle of the night. Glad there was a sofa as there was very little storage for clothes.

We had a great time at this new hotel. The location is excelent, in the center of the town, at five minutes walking from the central railway station. The rooms are big, light and clean and the breakfast has lots of things to choose from. Last, but not least, the staff is very helpful and enthusiast and made our staying in Avignon very pleasant.

We booked at short notice during the Avignon Festival, and felt that we'd lucked out to find the Hotel De Cambis. It's in a great spot - although it's just off the tourist drag, there was no problem with noise at night and the Rue de Joseph Vernet has some great restaurants. The rooms are chic and ingeniously designed and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

We were in Avignon during their music and theater festival and were lucky enough to get a room at the well-located Hotel de Cambis. Our arrival was very stressful - we foolishly decided to drive and drop off our luggage before returning our rental car to the TGV station. Due to the festival, we ended up around the corner from the hotel entrance on a street that technically was closed to cars. After I took our first bag to the lobby, the desk clerk came out, walked to the car and helped me carry the remaining bags (while my husband explained our car’s presence to a gendarme). When we later returned to the hotel, our bags were already in the room, a tremendous relief on a hot and frantic day.

The room was spacious and the a/c really good, which was wonderful on 99 degree days. The breakfast (9 euros pp) was plentiful with decent selection. There is a lovely, comfortable salon on the second floor by the breakfast room where they serve afternoon tea and snacks. We spent time there reading and relaxing.

Nice bathroom, good shower. Very little noise from inside the hotel but our window faced a lively street. If that is a concern, you might ask for a room on the quiet side. The street the hotel entrance was on was very nice, with lovely boutiques and lots of options for food. Easy walk to all the sights of Avignon. There were grocery stores, a pharmacy and a boulangerie close by.

All the staff were terrific and helpful. Highly recommend.

The hotel is within city wall and short walk to all attractions. There is an elevator and friendly front desk. There are two windows in the room one can open in a pleasant and very quiet courtyard. The overall feeling that this is not really a hotel but managed apartments - no ice on the floor, no place to hang around except the small bar. The room is extremely small, a few hangers but no dresser or shelves or drawers at all- have to live out is suitcases. The transparent shower in the middle of the room feels very strange. There are no side tables by the bed but two small stools - not possible to use for water, etc
Looks like the room we reserve ( standard double room #308 ) will be good for 1 person not for two.

Beautifully renovated and comfortable hotel within the walled city of Avignon! We loved our room, it was spacious (particularly the bathroom) and felt brand-new with very contemporary, warm colors and decor. The staff were very helpful and accommodating as well, offering to help us make dinner reservations and even telling us where to get a jar of the distinctive local honey they offered with breakfast. The breakfast options were fantastic, and the hotel is within walking distance of everything - you're 10 minutes away from the Palais du Papes and charming local shops, restaurants, and more.

The one challenge is parking in Avignon: if you're driving into Avignon, while the hotel does recommend the INDIGO JEAN JAURES car park at 2 AV Mar de Lattre de Tassigny, 84000 Avignon, unfortunately it was closed when we were trying to park our rental car, so we had to go with an alternate outside the city walls. Would recommend having a primary and backup just in case for Avignon so you're prepared!

First, the location was excellent- on the main street in the nice area of town. WE had an issue that was remedied by the staff. We were given a room on the 4th floor (maybe 406?), in a kind of exclusive part of the hotel as we had to take an elevator to the 3rd floor and then another elevator. Unbeknownst to me, our room was a suite with a separate room adjacent to the main bedroom . There was a fireplace in the room and we had a huge balcony. The view from the balcony and the suite was fantastic.
However, the room had a bad smell. It smelled like sewage. We hesitated but decided to stay. The next day we moved. The smell was too much! The staff seemed to be aware of the sewage smell but claimed it is not always there.
In any case, we were given another room on the 3rd floor, not a suite but quite large, no balcony but a fireplace. The view was still beautiful. This room had no bad smell.
Just be aware.
Breakfast wasn't included in our rate but we decided to eat there anyway. It was plentiful. Fresh breads and bread products, an assortment of cheeses, ham, eggs and bacon. You can also make your own freshly squeezed OJ. we felt that the 16 euro price was reasonable for the quality. Overall, all positive, but the awful smell they need to get rid of.

Newly renovated smaller hotel with fantastic staff. Rooms were quiet and decent sized. Beds were very comfortable. Very conveniently located just off the main street and 5 minute walk midway between the train station and the Popes' Palace. Proximity to the train station is a huge plus and makes it very easy to take day trips to Arles or Nimes without having to rent a car. The breakfast was good but not memorable. Lobby is small but everything else is good. This hotel is a great choice. Very reasonably priced. Quiet. There are about three high end hotels in Avignon. They are about 3 times more expensive and located close to the Popes' Palace a longer walk to the train station. This hotel was better than any other hotel we saw except for the three expensive ones. The staff made our stay very pleasant and went out of their way for us.

We had a nice stay at this hotel. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and a good size. The bathrooms are also a nice size. The hotel was fine for two days in Avignon. The closets were small and only had five hangers, so my husband and I were not able to hang up many things. The breakfast had a nice selection, and we could also get eggs made fresh.
