As we all should know, the stars in different countries mean a different thing. Personally I’m looking for a place to stay that gives me the experience I expect to get for the euros or dollars I’m paying for the stay. This means the stars are irrelevant. The price should act as a guide what to expect and on this respect Bristol did fill my expectations with flying colours.
Now, you can always search for missing paint here or thereand probably will find that here too, but considering Bristol has a very good location, Jean Jaures parking almost next to it and a decoration which at least to my eye leads to 20’s Art Deco we found the hotel nice and would certainly come again. Service was polite at the reception by the younger and older staff as in the bar. Actually I was surprised how polite and friendly people were on our week long car tour in Provence.

Our family room was spacy with seperate bath room and toilet, view wasn’t anything to mention of but wedidnt come here to stare out ofthe window. Hotel is near the old town walls, and for us it took maybe 10 mins to walk to Palais. Nearer to that are the flock of restaurants, so for us with a car I bet the location was the best for us. Breakfast contains the essentials andserved us well (15 eur), 2days parking was 38ish euro in JJ

So, all in all quite nice hotel especially for the price we paid.

The hotel is perfectly located within the old city. A parking garage is 30 m nearby (Indigo Jean Jaures).

Recently renovated, very clean rooms. As the hotel was not fully booked we got an upgrade to a big airy room with a nice view to the city. Staff was very friendly.

Unfortunately our room was not made up and cleaned after the first night.
The second night we turned up at 9.50 for breakfast which could be taken until 10.30. Hard to believe, but the buffet was empty and they didn‘t top up which of course is an absolute no go no, more so given that this is said to be a 4 star hotel.

We stayed here on route to a wedding and it was a perfect choice. We travelled to Avignon by train so the hotel’s location a stones throw from the central train station and main city attractions was perfect. Our bedroom and bathroom were large, spotlessly clean and well appointed. The decor of the hotel has a retro feel with a relaxed ambience. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast with a choice of hot & cold food. The staff were helpful and efficient and the reception staff booked a taxi for us when we were leaving. If we returned to Avignon, would stay again

The location and kindness of the staff makes you forget that the hotel needs some serious adjustments.
Arrived but room wasn’t ready on time. Cleaness could be much better…
Internet not working in the room.
Breakfast is overcrowded and such a mess.
The hotel maybe due to the situation is seriously understaffed. The waitress at breakfast had to hand me my key at the reception… maybe it was at some point cause you feel the marks of time all over the place but definitely isn’t a 4stars anymore !

Best thing about this place is probably the spacious and inviting lobby area with bar. It also acts as the breakfast station. My advice is to take breakfast here when you like, knowing that there are several good breakfast venues within a few minutes walk. My room was small and slightly angled. A single room. Housekeeping, if you stay more than a night, probably won't happen until the afternoon. Hot water may take some time to heat up in the morning. There's an in-room coffee maker with some starter pods. Whether you get a new supply after their use depends on how forceful you are with the reception. I kept the air conditioner on full time even though the evenings were cool. It was difficult to adjust the thermostat so I just let it run. Hall lighting outside my room was out. Had to be careful after exiting the room at night because there was a level of steps I couldn't see. Wifi worked well. Hotel is just a short walk from the SNCF Gare. Restaurants very nearby.

The hotel was centrally located and nicely furnished with an art-deco vibe. The staff was friendly and we had high hopes for a nice 3 night stay. When we checked in they said there was a minor maintenance issue with the AC which should be resolved shortly. 3 nights later it was still not working. Our room had a comfortable bed, big new bathroom, nice linens, a small refrigerator and a nespresso machine. It also overlooked a shaft between three buildings and we had no choice but to open the window to get some air into the room. We were eaten alive by the mosquitoes and there was a terrible sewage smell that floated up from the shaft. When I looked at old reviews of the hotel it seemed that this AC issue is a recurring theme. The hotel was not full so perhaps it is a way to cut back on the high cost of electricity. They also did not refresh the coffee pods or bottled water in the room each day. Another cost cutting measure. We received a small discount on the room but paid a high price with the 100+ mosquito bites and horrible sleep. May be OK in the winter but not worth the risk if you need AC

1. Disgusting Room: Upon entering the room, we are greeted by an offensive odor of pesticide, twelve living fies, and many more dead flies on the ceiling, the wall and the floor. The bed sheet and pillow cases have clear yellow stains. The bathroom is dark and unclean, and the casing of the toilette switch is about to fall off. The room is noisy all night because of the street and air condition.

2. Mendacious Staff: The pretentious female staff rejects our request to change rooms at first. And when we mention the flies in the room, she acts like it has never happened, and says she is going to spray pesticide when we leave the room. When we return the room after dinner, the flies are gone, but their dead bodies are now all over the floor and on the bed. No one is in sight at reception desk by now. The morning after, we get no further explanation, no formal apology, and no new arrangement. When we say we are checking out one day early because of the situation, the other pretentious female staff reacts like it has nothing to do with her as she is not even bothered to suggest a solution. She appears rather relieved to see us leave at our own cost of 260 euro per night. In fact, it is a sleazy hotel with false advertising, not qualified for a single star. Above all, the hotel service borders on discrimination in all senses.

From the outside, the hotel doesn’t appear particular special yet the interior design, around an art deco theme, is extremely appealing, demonstrating a great deal of thought and care both in the public areas and in our room.

The person who greeted us at reception was friendly and efficient and tolerant of my limited French!

The room decor was above and beyond what we expected for the price paid and the bathroom in particular was fitted to a high standard. It was a pleasure to stay here and it was a shame that we were staying only one night.

The hotel is a short walk from the station and from the centre of Avignon.

We booked a 3 night stay at Bristol hotel. the location is very convenient 3 minutes walk from train station. The hotel interior is nice with mid century style decor. the hotel was not full due to covid yet when we arrived although the website says check in after 3, we were told to come back after 4 since rooms were not available. at check in we were given a room on 2nd floor with a disgusting view of a window with blankets and sheets piled behind the window and peeling exterior walls of the building. it was disgusting. since we were staying for 3 nights and touring the cities in the area, we did not change rooms but the fact that there were other rooms that did not look out to this disgusting view, showed that the staff don't give a crap about American tourists who actually spend money in their city.

Great location, close to train station and public parking. Hotel staff is nice, very friendly and lobby is nice. My problem was with the room and lack of air-conditioning. Not only were the rooms warm, they were especially humid, which led to a moldy smell in the room. The bathroom was the worst and the fan in the room was supremely underpowered. The beds were among the least comfortable I have ever slept on.
