Stayed here for a few nights. It's right beside the train station, about a 2 minute walk. so I expected it to be loud, but it was very quiet. It's right beside the city centre, again a few minutes walk into the heart of the city.

Perfect for a city break for people arriving my train.

We spent two nights here to explore Avignon. The hotel is well located, with secure (paid) parking, easy to access just outside the city walls, and therefore convenient for walking into town. As the name suggests, it is also beside the station. Rooms have been renovated with a proper shower rather than the bath with shower over typical in Ibis hotels.

Staff were generally friendly, and it is well priced.

Stayed at this hotel for a week recently. The hotel is situated between the train station and bus station in Avignon. The vicinity of the hotel is fairly ugly and there appears to be a long-term building site to the front and in front of the train station. So every time you walk into town you have to walk through this building site. As some have already written, it is not great after dark, with some dubious characters hanging around and it is surprisingly very dark considering it is so close to the station.
The hotel itself is unusual as you have to get a lift up to the reception floor although this is where the lift ends, so bear that in mind if you have a room on a higher floor. The rooms are quite small although they are cleaned to a high standard and the bathroom is good. The windows are well-insulated so no noise from outside from the trains or traffic. The restaurant is small and we were often told that it was full up until about 9pm because a group was dining there, so unfortunately still had to walk into town to eat so you cannot rely on the hotel restaurant. There are a few restaurants of variable quality within ten minutes walk, but a longer walk about twenty minutes up to the main square although again these are mainly overpriced tourist restaurants rather than local French ones. Overall, the hotel is in a good position to do daytrips by train to Nimes, Arles and Orange. Avignon itself you can see in about a day.

Excellent location right next to the train station, facing the old town walls, and a few second’s walk into the old town and all the main sights.

We stayed three nights: the first in a room facing the train tracks and the second, for an extra €5, faced the Pope’s Palace. Good sized rooms, although we had to be creative when it came to finding space for our suitcases.

Fantastically well insulated, we couldn’t hear a thing. There were five layers of glass in our first room!

Bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean.

A couple of tiny minus points were that the lift wasn’t working so we had to lug our cases up the stairs and the first receptionist we came across on our first evening wasn’t the friendliest.

Note: As in other places in Provence, you need to be very careful with all your belongings. There are quite a few unsavoury and unlucky characters hanging around the station and in town.

Brilliant location next to train and bus station which is why we booked this IBIS. We spent 2 nights here and would not have wanted to stay here for longer. The smell others mention is quite apparent. It must be the drains as worse in the bathroom. It is very unpleasant and it’s a shame as the staff at this hotel are brilliant! Very helpful, very friendly. Had a meal here too (very simple menu), it was fine, perfectly edible, did not have breakfast. The reception area was nice. Rooms were very small, very old, but to be fair, we slept very well as the bed was very comfortable. It was ok for 2 nights but that was enough.

The only thing recommending this place is it’s proximity to the train station and that its a short walk to Avignon’s delightful old town. The rooms are tiny and spartan even by Ibis standards The air conditioner leaked on the floor and when I tried to call the desk the phone didn’t work. If you stay more than one night the rooms aren’t serviced. I used my cell phone to call and request clean towels. They botched the reservation and the price was not what was quoted. To make matters worse we discovered that the price for the local Mercure (4 star) was almost the same.

Good morning Tom, Please accept our appologies for the inconveniences caused. Can you please tell me (H0944-GM@accor.com) what was your room number to help us fixing the airco and telephone. Due to covid19, we took the decision, as a lot of Accor hotels do, to not clean the room for overstayuer guests. We really think that it reassures our guest to minimize people going in and out of the rooms every day. It is always possible to ask for cleaning at the reception or for fresh towels though. Regarding the prices, it is all interfaced with systems. Issues can happen but it stays very very rare. I hope you finally got the good price. Regarding Mercure, they are closed since march. they are no sold on internet. Which mercure are you talking about ? We can do much better and I really hope we can get another chance to make you satisfied. Berst regards Nicolas, general manager

All the other hotel near Avignon station were full, so I had to break my resolution not to patronise the Accor group because of bad customer service in the past. So perhaps I started off with a bias against this place - but there is really very little to commend it. For starters pedestrian access is up a ramp which can only be reached by crossing a road at an awkward angle with no pedestrian crossing. On arrival I met a helpful receptionist in a large area that was empty apart from an idle barman with no customers. The dead and soul-less feel did not end there but extended to empty corridors and a bedroom with so little character that I can remember nothing about it. There were a few more people about at breakfast, and the breakfast itself was quite adequate - but I still felt that this was a place with a car park on the ground floor with a people park above it.

I stayed eight nights in total. Despite the lift being out of action, it was an enjoyable stay. It's one of the friendliest hotels I've stayed in and I was made to feel very welcome from the start. It's perfectly placed for trains (and buses) for exploring the Rhone valley, and the Palais des Papes in the heart of Avignon is only fifteen minutes walk away. Oh, and breakfast had the creamiest scrambled eggs ever!

A comfortable Ibis hotel located right by the bus and railway station, opposite the city walls.

Convenient for transport options for visiting the region and only about a 20 minute slow meander from the Papal Palace, cathedral and other sights of the city.

The room was small, bur comfortable, quiet and with an excellent view across to the old walls.

Staff were all very friendly and welcoming and even let me check in really early.

Breakfast selection was good and fresh.

Basic hotel adjacent to the train station. We arrived via train to avignon. we stepped outside and quickly saw the train station. Walked less than 5 min. The area is ok. This is a large Ibis. The room was as we expected, small but prsctical. Bring your own face wash and conditioner. The Palace of the Popes was 15 min away. Lots of dining options within 10 munutes walk in the center. We took daily trips Arles, Orange, and Nimes. Great location to explore Southern France by train. We didnt have breakfast here. We walked to Monoprix (Super Market) for drinks, snacks, and water. We went to Petite Grand restaurant twice. Reception desk could be friendlier.
