Hotel Restaurant La Ferme was a delightful escape from the crowds and busy activity of Avignon. Just a few miles out of the city, it had the feel of a country retreat, with a relaxing terrace, beautiful pool area, and a wonderful restaurant for delicious dinners (we ate there two of our three nights at La Ferme). Nathalie was a great hostess, and she offers wonderful service, always available to help with directions, beverages, travel advice, or just good conversation. A car is important for staying out here (unless you are willing to use taxis, which will cost around 20 euro each way), but parking is plentiful, easy, and free.

Superb, charming place with very friendly staf and excellent restaurant!

The website's online reservation tool was not working. When we called, we were helped immediately and friendly.

The hotel is an oasis of calm, close to the beautiful but busy Avignon.

I like to start with dinner. That was fantastic for all of us. From the mushroom soup on offer to the grand dessert, we had a great meal!

The rooms are compact and clean. The swimming pool with sunbeds is wonderful to relax in.

Highly recommended to visit!

Lovely welcome, a nice quiet room, with decent shower wc en suite. Good tea/coffee in room a bonus. Very comfortable bed, 2 ample breakfasts, and a very good evening meal. Easy drive into Avignon, and on a very cycleable route. Lovely staff. Very pleased. Would/will stay again if in area. Thanks

Nice on the pictures but a real disapointment in general ! Price around 200€/night for the night only is really overrated! With booking.com, we choose the "superior" room which one was really basic (very small, under the roof where standing was difficult...
Outside terrace was friendly but permanently surrounded by smell of garbage!
Location was good, not far from Avignon with parking for free.
Pool stormed by a lot of people (almost 40/afternoon)
So a 2* hotel where the price should be fixed around 90€/ night!

We did not stay at their B&B but we had dinner in their restaurant. I was unimpressed with the food. I ordered the Chateaubriand and ordered it medium. It came well done and very tough. My husband ordered the same and his was a tad more rare, but still very tough. The side’s were very basic, half a sweet potato and spear of squash, a few mushrooms and a piece of leek. The vegetables were overcooked as well. We had dinner the next night at the B&B down the road and the food and service were outstanding. We had a 5 course meal (Salmon) and bottle of wine for 9 euros more than we paid for the disappointing dinner.

Surroundings absolutely beautiful and staff very welcoming and friendly. The room - compared to the rest of the hotel - was adequate but a little tired. The dining room is beautiful. Dinner was simply outstanding. You would definitely eat in the hotel if staying here. Choice and quality excellent. We would stay here again.

We stayed here for one night two months before our wedding, since it was the closest hotel to the venue. My wife had provisionally booked rooms for our families. On our first visit the staff seemed OK, and the rooms were small and basic but clean.

After the wedding my wife contacted the hotel to recover the deposits of our family members who had stayed there. She had been dealing with the lady owner who is nice, but this time the arrogant male owner was handling things. He couldn't be bothered to read the previous chain of correspondence between my wife and the lady owner, so instead took out his frustration from confusion on my wife. Literally two days after our wedding my wife received a torrent of insulting messages which included calling her a "spoilt child" and "brainless". Seriously, just what kind of twisted person takes pleasure in sending such things?

Having since read other reviews of this place, it's apparent that the arrogant male owner refuses to accept any form of criticism. You will see evidence of this in all of his responses to other reviews from dissatisfied customers, which invariably include some form of personal attack on the reviewer’s personality or behaviour. I fully expect I’ll be getting a similar response to this review.

There's lots of potential here, but it didn't live up to the other reviews. Maybe it was just our room, very small and tight and on the floor right over the entrance. Tried to sleep with the window open but the smoke from cigarettes was too much. Dinner was excellent, but the mosquitos ate us alive and we had to live with itchy bites for days. Very remote and quiet but the roads are a bit dangerous (saw a horrific car accident at a bad intersection just a few blocks from the hotel). Will be much better with a few renovations.

the property is beautiful , however extremely hard to find, its across the river from the town of Avignon and the address didn't compute with our gps, a little frustrating. the room a nice and clean but extremely small. a little lacking in character, quite modern in feel. However knowing that parking is impossible inside the old city, this was a nice location. the highlight was the dinning room with its incredible fireplace and décor. the food was excellent as was the service. price was nice and we felt very welcomed

Hello, Thank you for your nice review and specially about our restaurant and staff. Our room aren't large in this old farm of the 17ème century, but we try to make them confortable and cosy with a lot of détails you'll find in 4 stars hôtels, like the sweetest sheet and 4 pillows , the fluffy towels with small toilet mop, free good toilet products, and the room decoration completely renovated 2 years ago..... Guests who like La Ferme like it for our old walls, the friendly ambiance, the restaurant with it's large fireplace, the large terrasse under the wisteria, the too and their disadvantages, the location very quiet, peacefull and very cloth from Avignon center and the price. Maybe you've bought an small room too, very cheap at this season for a 3*** with 20% off. Détails of each room figure on internet, to make a real good choice, next time ;-)You've liked a lot here, thank you. Nathalie "Manager"

This hotel was ok, but considering the price, we felt ripped off as our room was small and basic.
The air conditioning was incredibly noisy, and we could not keep the window open as there was no net to keep the mosquitoes out, so we had a rather uncomfortable night as it was very hot.
Our evening meal and breakfast were both good.

Dear guests, you stayed 4 nights in our hotel, in a charming room with 17th centuries authentic beams and wooden ceiling and you call it "basic" that's your feeling. On the 1st night, you informed us that the air conditionner was noisy, after a control in your presence I found a malfunction. I installed you in 1 other room for the night cause it was possible. The equipment installed throughout the hotel dated less than 1 year, I called the technical service in the morning. The technician was involved in the day and have found a serious fault requiring the change of equipment as collateral under a one week period. We have informed you and explain it was impossible to give you another room the hotel was fully booked for the rest of your stay, I personally installed a temporary screen to one of your two windows fan was available to you and the outside weather showed 16 at 18 °. We apologize for the inconvenience we have offered you to drink several times and we offer 10% discount on your bill. In the end, if I may say, I find your comment just OK. Nathalie "

Since we drove in, and I don't know where the airport is located, its difficult to answer the question. You might trying asking the Ferme as they were very service oriented and helpful. The Ferme sits on an island in the Rhone River and therefore is a little bit out of town, definitely too far too walk (although its very flat). Its very quiet and we found it removed from the hordes of tour bus people.
