We traveled for a few weeks in the south of France staying only in B&Bs. Mas Du Petit Grava was definitely the best B&B we stayed at. Why?: excellent hospitality (thanks Jim & Ike), true Provance atmosphere reflected in the house and its garden, spacious room and bath well decorated and equipped, great different breakfast every morning, the owners pession...

Go ahead and consider other places you might stay in or near Arles ... then choose Mas du Petit Grava. You'll have one of the great vacation experiences of your life staying with Jim and Ike in their beautiful home and socializing (over breakfast in the morning or a late afternoon glass of wine) with the other guests and with...

I was just recommending to a friend where to stay in Arles, France and realized I forgot to write a most excellent review of Mas Du Petit Grava. All of the positives listed in the other reviews I agree with whole-heartedly. Just to look at the collection of books that Jim and Ike have is breath-taking. I could spend a...

I know Jim and Ike will be reading this review - so Hi from Syd & Kim. We loved staying here, not only for the lovely rooms and great location to Arles - just 15 minutes away, and the surrounding towns where there are some great restaurants and sights; but what's really special is chatting with Jim and Ike during...

This B&B in a quiet location in attractive surroundings and within easy driving distance of Arles is just great and easily accessible from the autoroute. My wife and I stayed there for 8 nights in the Orange room with the aim to visit the Provence hills and the Camargue. There is plenty of on-site parking and I feel that a...

We spent 5 nights at the Mas du Petit Grava, hosted by the inimitable Jim and Ike. Their Provencal home is hundreds of years old, the picture of old Provence. We were lucky with the weather and ate outside 4 mornings- fresh fruit, fresh wonderful bread, yogurts, home made jam, and a specially prepared different treat each day. The location...

My wife and I just returned from five peaceful days at Mas Du Petit Grava. We had a wonderful time. The owners, Ike and Jim, treated us like family. They gave us wonderful suggestions about where to visit and what restaurants to eat at. The house was comfortable and clean, and we loved their two dogs Bala and Anya. They...

So, I bought the Lonely Planet, Frommer's, and Rick Steve's guides to France (and Rick's guide to Provence, for good measure, which mentions this B & B), and looked for positive recommendations for a hotel in Arles. THEN I fired up the trusty Mac to consult the ratings on Trip Advisor. Big deceptions! Almost all the recommendations had at least...

We stayed in the green room at the Mas du Petit Grava for two days and wish we could have stayed longer. The grounds and pool are beautifully maintained and our room was very comfortable. I also peeked into the blue room after the guests had left and it is a very nice room as well! There are beautiful trees...

The Mas du Petit Grava is an old farmhouse that has been lovingly restored by owners Jim and Ike. There are four rooms in the Mas, accurately pictured on their website. All the rooms are on the second floor, accessed by two different spiral staircases. The rooms each have windows overlooking the gardens and pool. They encouraged us to park...

“The rooms are quite charming. Ours was painted a Van Gogh yellow and had his paintings on the walls. The only negative was twin beds (comfortable) but it was the last room left, so we took it and it was fine. The bathroom also did not have a stall shower, but I enjoyed the tb.”
