Were lucky this time. Got a room facing the park. With one whole glass-wall. Beds super. With a breathable cover under the sheet. (Many 4*-hotels have only terrible plastic.) The location is perfect for most tourists. Near both old harbour and train. I seldom pay for breakfasts in hotels, but here it was a good option. Wifi very good. Parking...

Located between the rail station & Vieux Port this hotel is bang on for a stay in La Rochelle but unfortunately for us, this, & the hotel staff were it's only redeeming features. Our first floor room with a small balcony overlooking Avenue General de Gaulle was badly decorated, the door to the tiny bathroom hit the toilet when opened....

Although this was last year we visited I would definitely stay there again. We were there for a week and couldn't fault the place. They never even laughed, out loud anyway, at my attempts to speak French. The room was spotless with a nice balcony, the staff very friendly and breakfast, which obviously was continental, was always refilled promptly. There...

Stayed here one night when out flight was cancelled. It has a great central position and most of the central La Rochelle attractions are a short walk away. The decor is a little out of date but everything is clean, the rooms are relatively large and the beds were comfortable. We had a nice balcony to sit out on and...

It's a basic hotel close to city center and railway station, clean rooms, helpful staff. All the places to visit in the city are within walking distance. On the dark side: few parking spots, small shower stall, almost inexisting wifi. On the bright side: breakfast in the morning is a really good value for the price, excellent!

We originally booked just 2 nights but extended to 5 because this is a very nice hotel very well situated in a lovely town. Situated overlooking both a park and the harbour, the comfortable rooms are a good size and have a wardrobe and comfortable bed and the soft towels are welcome. The staff are all very friendly and helpful....

This was our second time staying at this hotel and booking on line this time made it cheaper. I have rated it very good as it is such a good location as well as having good beds and bathrooms. The location is fantastic within walking distance of everything. Don't bother with paying for breakfast when you can do much better...

Excellent location short walk from train station and town centre. Staff very helpful spoke excellent English. Rooms comfortable with a nautical theme the bed was good and had a balcony overlooking the park. Breakfast was excellent value and could be eaten on the terrace. We would return to this hotel and recommend to friends and family.

You can no longer leave your luggage at the railway station at La Rochelle. A bookstore, La Planete Bleue, initially jumped into the left luggage gap, but this place no longer answers its phone. Currently, Acceuil at the Gare de La Rochelle tells desperate travelers that they can leave luggage at Hotel Les Gens de Mer. It costs 3 euros...

My experience here is very bad. Only location is the strength (rail SNCF station). Its an old hotel and urgely needs renovation. Its loaded with patchy basic fixtures and accessories, forget of "deco" it can only disappoint, one can go to a simple ibis or kyriad even if they are uniform all over but will give cleaner and neat product,...
