Other useful things about the hotel are:
free car park next door
'mini-train' to the Cognac distilleries departs from the street
Small supermarket is directly opposite with good stock.
The rail station is walkable in about 10 mins, but luggage makes this harder of course...
If a clean basic room is all you want, well located, and cheap, this is the one for you.
Facilities,
Parking extra,
Breakfast expensive and plastic, cheap yoghurt, frozen mini croissants etc
WiFi only allows one device at a time ...
We came back from a restaurant at 10:30 to find the public area closed, no bar, no reception staff.
The Room
Too hot
water temperature was scalding
the shower was a simple mixer that fluctuated from freezing to scalding
The toilet/WC would not flush waste away
The Toilet paper dispenser was not properly set up, we used our travelling spare after lugging it around for four years
There was a light on the TV that could not be turned off
The Quilt was too heavy
and the ultimate sin ... tucked in!
The breakfast had a limited selection, with ham and cheese and baguettes, croissants, and some other stuff, and was charged at a "decent" 7,80 Euro / person.
I paid 52 Euro for the standard room, which is a good rate, though this was arranged by the people I was visiting, so I am not sure its a publicly available rate. In any case, the most I would pay for the room would be 100 Euro.

"Great location. Friendly staff. Good continental breakfast for 10 euros. Private parking for 6 euros a night. Nice bar area."Read full review
