There are 10 parking spaces and it’s advisable to book as we didn’t but we’re lucky there was one left when we checked on.
The hotel has been beautifully restored and all the rooms are individual. We had room 1 which has a private balcony and a massive bathroom suitable for disabled persons in a wheelchair.
Breakfast was very good with a wide selection to choose from. There is a restaurant offering of pre made bowls but we ate out elsewhere.
There is an external courtyard that leads onto the car parking but as it was September and a bit chilly we didn’t have 5he chance to enjoy it.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful with a map and directions.
Would definitely stay again.
We recommend taking the parking option

The person in front of us received a lot of time/attention, I was patient thinking that once it was our turn we would get the same level of care, instead we were rushed so that she could attend to the people behind us. We felt it was rude how we were treated.
Room:
The bed was very comfortable.
Oddly, there was only 1 coffee pod in room for 2 people.
The white robe in the room looked visually dirty and smelled like it was dirty but was hung up to be presented as if it was fresh to wear.
The pillows were in need of replacement. A previous TA review mentions the pillows and the response to that review was that they should have asked for another pillow. We feel that if people are stating that the pillows are in poor condition, maybe it is time to update them. I do not want to have to go back to the desk and ask for a clean robe/another coffee pod and a different pillow.
Hangers in closet space didn't fit the rod they were on, the hangers were useless, it was a strange set up.
The comforter is too warm for the weather conditions, too loud out to open windows plus there were a lot of mosquitoes at the time we were there. This made for uncomfortable sleep.
Interior lock on door was broken.
Our room was dated and in need of attention. Shower had black mold in the caulking. Room could use a new coat of paint.
The shower has a glass panel that covers about half the tub, the shower wand didn't sit correctly in its holder causing water to go all over the floor.
Large plastic bulky key chain unnecessary, not convenient to carry around.
Breakfast:
Seating well spaced.
The breakfast room opened about 15 minutes late one morning, an inconvenience when we were on a tight schedule.
You can get far better bakery products in the bakery a street away; the quality of the croissants served was poor.
Scrambled eggs and bacon brought out COLD. Not even room temperature.
Breads/juice/yogurt/fruit/nuts/ham/cheese were available.
Lobby had wine/snacks for purchase.
Parking:
Tight parking in back, additional 10-, reserve in advance if you require parking.

The staff had good English, always a plus for us, and the host was very friendly and informative.
This has been a hotel since 1837.
All of the room hall way entry doors display a room number and the name of some historic landmark.
We had booked secure, hotel parking in advance but there was some construction issue so we had to park on the street the first night. Hotel parking is secure.
There are 4 steps up to the lobby/lift. The apartment is on the upper floor so the elevator only goes part way, then an additional 22 steps up to the apartment. Even if you don't rent the apartment, go all the way up to see the historic well worn steps and the square nails holding them in place.
The apartment was large and well appointed, everything nice, clean and tidy. The bathroom was huge and everything worked as it should. There was no curtain for the bathroom window but you are up high and the neighboring buildings are all far away. There were no wash cloths.
We have been to Samur several times and although this was our first time at this hotel we look forward to staying here again.
Breakfast was E13.00 each and the usual assortment typical in France. Breakfast room is lovely.
