Stayed in this hotel for one night while driving around the castles of the Loire Valley. Booked a room literally 1 hour before check-in, by phone (it was cheaper than through hotel aggregators), arrived, we were perfectly welcomed, checked in, given recommendations on the place for dinner. The staff is very pleasant and customer-oriented.

The location is close to the city center (you can walk in 15 minutes), but at the same time, in a very calm area, at night it was incredibly quiet. Private, comfortable on-site parking. There's a spa and pool, we haven't used it, but the visuals look nice.

Most of course, liked the interior of the hotel and room. We took a superior room, it was huge, with a large comfortable bed, a beautiful bathroom, with shower and a separate elegant bathtub. My wife was delighted, she always wanted to stay in a castle like this! :) Everything is incredibly clean, from the bathroom to the corners of the room (where often, in my experience, the cleaners don't get to, like, no one will look in). Sleep was very comfortable! The Internet is strong, I've had enough in the morning for video calls for work.

Breakfast is good, the products were quality and delicious, but the choice is small, from a hotel of this level (and price) I expected more variety! In the hotels where we stayed on this trip in the Loire Valley with the same price tag (~€290), breakfasts were richer...

Another wish: in the brochure in the room it was written that the owners of the hotel speak to the guests in person in the morning, but no one spoke to us, although it would be interesting to talk a little bit, about the hotel, about living in such a house, etc. More specifically, it seems to me that during the checkout, the Owner took the payment, but he did not introduce himself, and asking directly was somehow uncomfortable...

Very warm and professional welcome at the same time. We felt like we were invited by friends. The art nouveau style mansion is absolutely magnificent. The room and bathroom were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast made from fresh produce was plentiful and tasty. The very clean swimming pool also allowed us to cool off in this scorching month of October. We were on a motorbike and we were able to park for free inside the property. In short, a memorable stay in this residence steeped in history. A big thank you to Jeremy and Flore, perfect hosts in every way. We wish them the best.

I do not leave comments often, but I would like to make an exception for Flore and Jeremy who run a Pension with incomparable charm, with great kindness and professionalism.

Our room was (very!) spacious, perfectly clean, with a very comfortable bed and a beautiful bathroom. The welcome was perfect, the Breakfast very good and if we were not able to enjoy the pool on this harshly cold end of September, it is particularly envious, as is the park. The Inn's location is great - not far from the center (about 5 minutes walk), but far enough away to feel isolated.

My partner and I had a great time, enjoying the beautiful spa, bike rental (with excellent restaurant Recommendation by the way!) and a benefactor massage.

Flora, Jeremy, we wish you an excellent continuation, you deserve it greatly!

My family and I elected to stay here (formerly Chateau Marquise) because of the excellent reviews on trip advisor. Our stay did not reflect what we had read online from other travelers. While the exterior of the house and the grounds are pretty, it is quite isolated from the center of Saumur (which is not the fault of the hotel but should be noted for others arriving). If you do not rent a car, moving around the area can be quite difficult as the taxi services have a monopoly on transport and are not always reliable. There is plenty of parking on site.

The staff are polite but disengaged. The front desk is often “unmanned.” There is no staff on the premises after 9PM. This is not well advertised and would have affected my decision to stay here. There are only ten rooms in the building and not all are occupied. Thus, when the lone staff member leaves at 9PM (and turns off literally all the lights in the hotel hallways and common areas, even the automatic ones triggered by movement), it is lonely and dark. There isn’t even a place to get a glass of water in the dining room after 9.

Some of the rooms are quite dated and dusty, others are more fresh. Our rooms were a mix of well cleaned and below average. The bathrooms are spacious with both shower and tub. The hotel breakfast is quite average with supermarket products (yogurts, rolls). I regret participating and spending on the breakfast. The bakeries and restaurants of Saumur are so excellent, the twenty euro a person would have been better spent in the village.

Overall, this was not the wisest travel choice I have made. I did not feel safe in the dark and empty chateau at night with no staff and no idea of who else was present. Had I known, I would have made other arrangements. The rest of the stay was not remarkable in any way.

Dear Patricia, I am sorry that your stay with your mother did not bring you satisfaction. I think that the city and the hotel chosen did not correspond to your expectations. Our team did its best to make you forget this but I see that unfortunately it was not enough. I hope the rest of the trip to France was pleasant. Regards, Flore and Jeremy

This chateau is an absolute gem. The location is incredible. It is in the centre of Saumur, but it feels a world apart and is surrounded by its own private forest. The view of the chateau from the balcony is astounding. The antique decor is thoughtful and in keeping with the breathtaking grace and age of the building. The swimming pool was spectacular. And the hosts were caring, thoughtful, and excited to share their love of the place. We felt very welcomed--the family that owns the chateau has a genuine and warm personal touch. The hotel was the highlight of the trip, and we look forward to returning.

The main entrance under the grand marquise is accessible only by stairs. But on the side of the building, there is access to the lift up to the main floor and bedrooms from the ground floor, via a gravel-paved driveway. The private forest has a walkway that is partly wheelchair accessible.

My daughter and I had a delicious stay in this very beautiful place, the hotel is located in a very quiet green setting but which remains close to the city center of Saumur. The place is plush, the decoration is refined, but the welcome from the staff is warm, simple and not at all stuffy, exactly what we appreciate. We had a very pleasant stay there. As the hotel only has around ten rooms, it feels good and peaceful. A special mention for Na Yung's Thai massage (dsl if I miss her name) which is very invigorating.
We will come back with great pleasure and we will “promote” it to our friends.

For our little girl’s 10th birthday, we wanted to give her a night in a castle because we knew she would be happy.🙂
It was a success! The welcome, the setting, the beauty of the castle arranged with great taste as well as the delicacy of Flore who chose the pink room charmed us 😍 Although we are not used to staying in luxury hotels, we felt comfortable. It is a beautiful story that the new owners will know how to live this beautiful house. We hope to come back one day 😉 and can highly recommend this address

We were lucky enough to be booked into this property as part out our bike tour through the Liore Valley, and all I can say is: wow! I don't this there is anywhere else you can be made to feel like such royalty.

The Chateaux is grand, we'll maintained, and beautiful. It sits on large, lush grounds and there are beautiful views through all the windows. Our room was very well appointed, clean, and quiet. Although we came during the shoulder season and the hotel was largely vacant, there was no expense spared at breakfast time, with a full spread put out full of luxurious local goodies.

Best of all though, are the hosts. They went well out of their way to made sure we felt comfortable, and helped us navigate the area with our very limited (to non-existent) french. From reservations to helping us get to the train station, we were immediately greated with a friendliness that is hard to find on such travels.

All in all, I very highly recommend this hotel. It offers a very unique and enjoyable experience that will leave us with happy memories for years to come.

Wonderful experience. We are French ex-pats living in the U.S. and we found the hotel standards, including generous suite size, to be very high by both European and American standards. The owners and staff are exceptionally professional, helpful, and friendly. The facilities are lovely, breakfast buffets are delicious, and while the weather did not permit us to make use of the very inviting outdoor pool, we were able to walk around the park-like grounds and take advantage of the spa offerings. An absolute delight - we will most certainly be back!

Absolutely perfect with no restrictions!
We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary; everything came together for us to have a great time!
From the warm and discreet welcome of the charming owner until our departure, a festival of kindness, courtesy and refinement✨
I can only praise this place full of history but nevertheless equipped with the comfort appropriate to this type of establishment.
The spa is a cozy cocoon, the junior suite tastefully decorated and equipped with a spacious and very comfortable bed, the breakfast delighting “sweet tooth” as much as savory ones!
Also enjoy the massages (the Thai massage is perfect)!
An idyllic setting for continuity
of our Honeymoon…
Thank you very much to Flore and her team!
We will come back,
Florence and Christian Lepicier
