Steer away from here!! Location cannot get any better than that. But hotel is terrible. I dont mind the outdated decor, it actually has some charm. But I do really mind the dust on frame right above the bed, the mold in the fridge, the blood stains on bedsheets, unclean carpet with bits of dust... all this for the great incredible price of eur 160 (sarcasm here). Not worth any more than 80eur top, for location only.
We really can't complain. If you want sparkling new with a 24hr bar and spar facilities then it's not for you . The decor is a little dated . However it represented excellent value for money in a great central location. Close to a 24hr car park but still really quiet. The staff were welcoming .The bed was comfortable and one member of staff was constantly cleaning so no complaints there! Can't comment on breakfast as we ate out. Would definitely visit again
We booked only the previous day for one and arrived a little early to book in. However, our room was ready and we were given the key. Up the lift and out onto the dark corridor. We had to feel our way along until the sensor kicked in a little too late. The room was amazingly decorated in deep red velvet looking wall paper and very ornate heavy gold mirrors. The bed was so comfortable and the duvet and pillows were amazing. It was situated very close to all the amenities and the old town where there was so much to see and do. Food restaurants were great and somewhere not to be missed. Loved our stay.
On the positive side this hotel is very central and the staff on reception were extremely helpful. The car park we used out if desperation as we couldn't park after nearly an hour of driving around Rouen...we were warned it was small and steep, it was my husband's driving skills were put to the test. The hotel is tired, shabby thread bare carpets, a hole in our curtain, wall paper peeling off.. however beds were clean as was the bedding and bathroom. Needs a complete makeover... 92 euros for a twin room too.
Stayed for one night, room was ok and we could bring our dog. Good price. But... I almost had a panic attack in the VERY small underground parking garage. It is extremely steep going down (and up!), and once down there it is close to impossible to turn your car around, or to park. We got help from a friendly Dutch couple to help us out of there and we parked comfortably in the nearby Hôtel de Ville garage. So the hotel can be recommended for being fair for a good price, but seriously, stay out of that garage unless you are in for an adventure you will never forget.
