We arrived the day of the big industrial fire that shut down most of the city, leaving a bad oil smell, and lots of places closed, We had a short walk and at least saw the catherdal, but then the heavens opened. Nto a good day! We had to get dinner from a nearby bakery, but Emma was very helpful in assembling some charcuterie in the hotel bar. Of course we had to keep the window closed, so the room got hot, and we didn't know how to turn the heat down and there was no AC. The bathroom smelled oddly of disinfectant/cleaner and had no fan so the mirror steamed. The bed was a tad short for 6-foot me, but we slept well anyway. Very good breakfast the next morning. This would have been an excellent location under other circumstances. Parking was no trouble.
Rooms were small, but OK. The bathroom was very narrow and long and the gap to get in the shower was very tight indeed. I declined breakfast as was 15 euros which is very expensive for this part of France. I would stay again due to the location and price.
This hotel is very close to the pretty old town and is easy to drive to, parking is available at a nearby underground car park for 16e daily. However I was disappointed when I called reception for a fan, as we were there during a heatwave, to be told "no". They were not even apologetic! We spent a very unpleasant night, barely slept due to the heat. We left windows open but were woken then by rowdy noise outside several times. I understand it's a 3 star hotel and there's no AC, but fans should be available, even at a charge, I would happily have paid extra! and would not cost the hotel too much. Disappointing.
This hotel is in a very central location in Rouen, within minutes of bars, cafes, cathedral etc. Parking is subsidised and is across the street in an easy to find, easy to park (& Safe) public car park. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. The room whilst a little tired was fully functional and well set up with a view of the street below. There's no aircon so be careful with the windows open at dusk as there are mosquitoes.
I adored this little hotel. Cannot get better in terms of location, and if you are lucky enough to book the Atelier like me, you will have the best views in Rouen.! The staff were wonderful, breakfast correct (no hot dishes), a stone’s throwaway to the clock and cathedral. My atelier had a terrace and little garden and incredible views of the cathedral, saw the light show of the cathedral from my bed at night. Small room but light and airy. Bathroom with a bath (love bathtubs). Can’t rave enough about this. My brother and his family stayed at another 5star nearby and it was money wasted! Mine was a 3star and FUN ❤️. I was there over a weekend so the parking outside was free, but there was a parking nearby.
