Hadn't intended to visit the Oak. We were going to eat at the Playden Oasts but this was only catering for residents. Similarly, we hadn't realised that the Hare & Hounds was closed! We ate there recently, whilst staying nearby. The food was amazing, the ambience and service top drawer! The pub Is beautiful and we felt completely at home. Rye is so pretty and the place we stayed and this pub topped it off.

We were camping up the way and had made the fatal error of not booking dinner on a Bank Holiday Saturday, so were not entirely surprised (but very disappointed) to hear they were fully booked. Had a Great Weekend break with family and friends at the Oak. The chalets had all you wanted for a short break warm comfortable and clean. Perfect barman David serving me perfect Guiness and making us feel welcome and seemed to foresee all our needs throughout the evening. Locals were a great bunch friendly and good fun. Found this pub by chance on a walk from Rye across the fields and went back the same evening for a meal as we liked the choices on the menue. It was great. Very good pub food perfectly cooked and nice friendly service.

We were staying in Peasemarsh and decided to try the local cuisine so driving by we thought the Oak looked inviting.We were given a warm welcome by a very nice gentleman who was able to accommodate us for food.The menu was limited but very nice. Having had a day of sightseeing, popped in tonight (a Saturday evening) on the way back to our Hotel which is just up the road. We have a large Golden retriever who was welcomed as warmly as we were! The decor is modern yet so very warm and homely with LED lights around. Spacious too so not on top of...

We were 14 for lunch on Christmas day and despite the local power cut from 1100 to 1340 all went to plan and lunch was great. some of us also stayed and rooms were clean and very comfortable and we will defo come back

Had a very nice stay at the oak I found the staff and owner very friendly the room was very nice and clean very quite the food in the pub was great steak pudding a must the pub it self was lovely I will go back it was great I would recommend for any one wanting a nice quiet break

Very good, clean chalets. Home cooked food on the premises which was extremely good and the waitresses very friendly, both in the evening and at breakfast Picnic tables in the grounds. We have visited twice and will return next year. Highly recommended.
